This study was carried out to investigate the immunopathological effects of 7,12-Dimethylbenz[a]anthracene(DMBA) on spleen in mice. DMBA was administered subcutaneously to BALB/C mice by interscapular single injection of 50 or 100${\mu}g/g$ of body weight. Each DMBA treatment group and additional corn oil control group of mice were studied on day 1,3,7,14 and 21 following the injection of DMBA. DMBA treatment resulted in marked decrease in weights and cellularity of spleen. Spleen weights showed the greatest decrease at 14days after 50${\mu}g/g$ DMBA treatment, and at 21days after 100${\mu}g/g$ DMBA treatment. Spleen cellularity was similarly deceased in comparison with spleen weights. Spleen showed morphologically no typical changes throughout the experiment after 50${\mu}g/g$ DMBA treatment. Following the treatment of 100${\mu}g/g$ DMBA the spleen showed severe fibrosis, hemosiderin precipitation, and megakaryocytes decrease in red pulp at 14 days, while hemopoietic function was partly restored in addition to the appearance of a few megakaryocytes at 21 days. In spleen sections treated with antibodies to IgM or Thy1.2, lymphocytes strongly stained with IgM antibody were infiltrated around the central artery within the white pulp, and T-lymphocytes of periarterial lymphatic sheath (PALS) were diminished and destructed in sections treated with Thy1.2 antibody, at 14 days after the treatment of 100${\mu}g/g$ DMBA. By the electron microscopy phagocytic epithelial cells or macrophages were remarkably increased in spleen at 14and 21days following the treatment of 100${\mu}g/g$ DMBA.
Comparison of bioavailabflity (BA) of three brands of ranitidine (RT) tablets has been studied m rats. The purpose of this study was to characterize the pharniacolunetics of RT tablets in the rat and to coinpare phannacolunetic parameters of three brands of RT tablets. In addition, it was investigated whether plasma RT concentrations m humans can be predicted from pharmacokinetic parameters obtained in rats. RT was administered intravenously in dose of RT.HCI 10mg/kg and orally in dose of RT.HCI 50mg/kg as solution or crushed sample of thablets. Plasma RT concentrations were determned by HPLC. Plasma RT concentrations as a function of time were fitted to two compartment model. Plasma RT concentrations declined with a terminal half life ($t_{{1}/2{\betha}}$) of 40.9 min. The plasma RT concentration-time curve showed two peak plasma concentrations following an oral administration of solution or crushed sample in rats like humans. No significant difference among pharmacokinetic parameters was observed except $T_{max2}$ (p<0.05). The BA for crushed sample A, B and C were found to be 54.6 40.7 and 40.0%, respectively. Equivalence of $C_{max1}$ and $T_{max2}$ were guaranteed in this study. However, it was concluded that three brands of RT tablets are bioequivalent, taking the following characteristics of RT into consideration;(1) rapid onset of the effect is not required, (2) $C_{max1}$ and $T_{max2}$ do not seem to influence the effectiveness of the drug during a long-term treatment by the usual administration of twice a day. Results from this study were combined with plarmacokinetic data for RT in dogs and humans to develop a basis for interspecies scale-up of the disposition characteristics of the drug. there were similarities in the general disposition of the drug. Allometric relationships were sought between pharmacokinetic parameters nd species body weight. Significant interspecies correlations were found for total body clearance($Cl_{t}$) and steady state volume of distribution ($Bd_{ss}$). Thus, plasma RT concentrations in humans can be predicted from pharmacokinetic parameters obtained in rats.
Recently, OpenFlow has been paid attention to as a fundamental technology which provides a function of virtualization and programmability in network. In Korea, deployment of OpenFlow networks in campuses and the interconnection between them through tunneling in layer 3 has been performed. However, the performance of the interconnected networks is decreased due to delay in IP layer. In this paper, we design and deploy nation-wide, not local, OpenFlow networks in a pure layer 2 environment over KREONET. After that, we do end-to-end Round-trip Time measurements and TCP/UDP performance tests in OpenFlow and normal networks, and do comparison and analysis on the test results. The results show that the nation-wide OpenFlow networks provide equal performance to normal networks except for the initial packet loss for UDP streaming. In regards to the performance decrease due to early UDP packet loss, we can mitigate it by implementing exceptional procedures in a controller which deal with the same continuous "Packet_in" events.

Background: The root of Panax ginseng, a member of Araliaceae family, has been used as herbal medicine and functional food in Asia for thousands of years. According to Traditional Chinese medicine, ginseng is the most widely used "Qi-invigorating" herbs, which provides tonic and preventive effects by resisting oxidative stress, influencing energy metabolism, and improving mitochondrial function. Very few reports have systematically measured cell mitochondrial bioenergetics after ginseng treatment. Methods: Here, H9C2 cell line, a rat cardiomyoblast, was treated with ginseng extracts having extracted using solvents of different polarity, i.e., water, 50% ethanol, and 90% ethanol, and subsequently, the oxygen consumption rate in healthy and tert-butyl hydroperoxideetreated live cultures was determined by Seahorse extracellular flux analyzer. Results: The 90% ethanol extracts of ginseng possessed the strongest antioxidative and tonic activities to mitochondrial respiration and therefore provided the best protective effects to H9C2 cardiomyocytes. By increasing the spare respiratory capacity of stressed H9C2 cells up to three-folds of that of healthy cells, the 90% ethanol extracts of ginseng greatly improved the tolerance of myocardial cells to oxidative damage. Conclusion: These results demonstrated that the low polarity extracts of ginseng could be the best extract, as compared with others, in regulating the oxygen consumption rate of cultured cardiomyocytes during mitochondrial respiration.
The donor pool for heart transplants is severely limited and there is still a legal problem of brain death. This study assessed the function of hearts "absolute anoxic" for ten minutes after asphyxia by perfusing the hearts on a Langendorfr apparatus for 45 minutes with Krebs-Henseleit buffier at 37 t at 80 cm H2O. Forty isolated rat hearts were divided into four groups. Ten control hearts (group 1) were perfused on the circuit without intervening ischemia. Ten hearts (group 2) were harvested, quickly flushed with 5cc of cold University of Wisconsin solution, and stored in the same cold solution for 4 hours. Ten hearts (group 3) were excised, quickly flushed with 5 u of cold Stanford cardioplegic solution and stored in cold saline solution for 4 hours. Ten asphyxiated hearts (group 4) had warm ischemia for ten minutes and were perfused with 5u of cold Stanford cardioplegia containing 7,500 units of urokinase to dissolve intravascular clots, and stored in cold saline solution for 1.5 hours. Time of spontaneous defibrillation (TSD) after perfusion was significantly longer in group 2, group 3 and group 4 than in group 1. TSD in group 3 and group 4 was significantly longer in comparison to that of group 2. Left ventricular developed pressure(LVDP) at 15 minutes was significantly lower in group 3 and group 4 than in group 1 and group 2. In group 4, LVDP at 30 minutes and 45 minutes was significantly lower compared with that in group 1 . In conclusion, asphyxiated rat hear;ts which had absolute anoxia for 10 minutes after as hyxia showed relatively satisfactory cardiac function. function.

The objectives of this study were to evaluate the tensile strength of resin-infiltrated demineralized dentin according to the demineralization time, and to evaluate the tensile strength of hybrid layer that is formed by infiltrating different priming adhesives or primer/adhesive into demineralizd dentin matrix. Seventy five hour-glass shaped dentin specimens were prepared in mid-coronal dentin from extracted human molars. Thirty specimens were distributed into three groups according to demineralization time - 2 hours, 4 hours and 8 hours. Each specimen was placed in primer/adhesive of All-Bond 2 for 5 hours of infiltration. Another forty-five specimens of them were demineralized in 37% phosphoric acid for 4 hours. They were randomly assigned to three experimental groups - AB, SB and OS - to designate All-Bond 2, Single Bond and One-Step. Each specimen was placed in one of three different adhesives for 5 hours of infiltration. The specimens were visible light-cured for 5 minutes, and then stored for 24 hours in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$. After that, microtensile bond strength for each specimen was measured, and the fractured surfaces were then observed by SEM. The data were statistically analysed by one-way ANOVA and Tukey's multiple comparison test and Bonferroni's multiple comparison test. The results were as follows; 1. Tensile strength of the group demineralized for 4 hours was significantly higher than that of groups demineralized for 2 hours and 8 hours (P < .01). 3. Tensile strength of the AB group was significantly higher than that of the SB group and OS group (P < .01).
Humans may lose considerable amounts of water and electrolytes from sweat during exercise in a hot climate. Optimal ingestion of fluid-replacement beverages may overcome an obstacle factor of exercise performance in the heat. This study was performed the comparison of heart rate and blood lactate between ingestion of Prunus mume solution and water solution during graded maximal exercise using bicycle ergometer in the heat(ambient temperature of 31-32$^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity of 50-55%). Ten healthy no-heat-acclimatized males participated in the study. Exercise duration until all-out of graded testing in the condition of Prunus mume solution ingestion(786.15$\pm$47.66s) was significantly higher(P<0.05) than the condition of water ingestion. Heart rate at 4 min during graded testing and recovery phase in the condition of Prunus mume solution ingestion was significantly lower(P<0.05) than the condition of water ingestion. Blood lactate concentration at 30min of recovery phase after graded maximal exercise in the condition of Prunus mume solution ingestion was significantly lower(P<0.05) than the condition of water ingestion. Recovery rate of blood lactate concentration at 15 min and 30 min of recovery phase after grated maximal exercise in the condition of Prunus mume solution ingestion was significantly lower(P<0.05) than the condition of water ingestion. Present results suggested that ingestion of Prunus mume solution showed the positive effects on the cardiorespiratory function and acid-base regulation as compared with ingestion of water during graded maximal exercise and recovery phase in hot environment.

In this theoretical study, the strength parameters of the Drucker-Prager yield criterion and Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion were set to equal values, in order to analyze the correlation among the parameters. The Drucker-Prager strength parameters ${\alpha}$ and k were represented by the Mohr-Coulomb strength parameters c and ${\phi}$. Specifically it can be seen that k is function of c, ${\phi}$ and ${\alpha}$ is function of ${\phi}$ alone. Drucker-Prager strength parameter ${\alpha}$ increases as the internal friction angle of soil increases. ${\alpha}_{av}$ which is the average of ${\alpha}_c$ and ${\alpha}_i$ was proportional to internal friction angle in which ${\alpha}_c$ and ${\alpha}_i$ are ${\alpha}$ values corresponding to the circles of the Drucker-Prager yield cirteria circumscribes and inscribes the Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion respectively. The values of the ${\alpha}_{av}$ was 0.07 and 0.29 which correspond to the internal friction angle of $10^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$ respectively. In addition, value of ${\alpha}_c/{\alpha}_i$ was proportional to internal friction angle of soil and the values of ${\alpha}_c/{\alpha}_i$ 1.12 and 1.62 which corresponds to internal friction angle of $10^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$ respectively. The influence of the Mohr-Coulomb strength parameters on the Drucker-Prager strength parameter k was investigated and it was found that k was mainly influenced by the cohesion of the soil, except in the case of the minimum assumed value of c of 10kPa. The deviator stresses, $S_{c0}$ and $S_{t0}$, which correspond to the cases of the Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion under uniaxial compression and uniaxial tension, respectively, and $S_{0(ave)}$, which is the average value of $S_{c0}$ and $S_{t0}$, decrease as the internal friction angle increases. Furthermore, the hexagon, which represents the Mohr-Coulomb yield locus, becomes more irregular, and the deviations of $S_{c0}$ and $S_{t0}$ from $S_{0(ave)}$ also increase, as the internal friction angle increases.

This paper covers the detection of covert direct sequence spread spectrum signal without the PN(Pseudo Noise) code information. Due to its low probability of interception, the difficulty of spectrum surveillance increases. Detection parameters are the signal existence of given bandwidth, the length of spreading sequence used by transmitter, and the identification of spreading code for detected chip length. The triple correlation function(TCF) value which is one of the higher order statistical signal processing techniques can be used to detect spread spectrum signal without a prior knowledge, but, it has weakness that TCF results depend on the spread data sequence in actual application. This paper proposes the new scheme that not only overcomes the weakness but also presents better performance than the traditional TCF scheme. The performance comparison of conventional TCF with proposed technique shows that the triple correlation estimator(TCE) has better detection capability.
We deposited thin films of organic light-emitting-material $Alq_3$(alumina quinoline) on silicon and slide-glass substrates using thermal evaporation method, and measured spectra of ellipsometry angles ${\Delta}$ and ${\Psi}$ in the photon-energy range of 1.5~5.0 eV using a variable angle spectroscopic ellipsometer. The optical constants, refractive index and extinction coefficient, of $Alq_3$ were determined via the dispersion parameters extracted from the curve-fitting process based on Jellison-Modine dispersion function. The reliability of determined optical constants were verified through the comparison of measured and simulated transmittance curves and the good agreement between simulated absorption-coefficient curves and absorbance spectra measured using a spectrophotometer.
