  • Human $\varepsilon$-globin DNA fragment was used to determine the thermal stabilities of base pairs at d(CXG) and d(GXC) by Temperature Gradient Gel Electrophoresis(TGGE). The base pair stability depends on the hydrogen bonding interaction and base stacking interaction of neighbor base sequence. The orders of base pair stabilities were T.AG.A = A.G>C.T>T.C>C.A>A.C for d(GXC).d(GYC).

  • The tRNA structure contains conserved modifications that are responsible for its stability and are involved in the initiation and accuracy of the translation process. tRNA modification enzymes are prevalent in bacteria, archaea, and eukaryotes. tRNA Gm18 methyltransferase (TrmH) and tRNA $m^1G37$ methyltransferase (TrmD) are prevalent and essential enzymes in bacterial populations. TrmH involves itself in methylation process at the 2'-OH group of ribose at the 18th position of guanosine (G) in tRNAs. TrmD methylates the G residue next to the anticodon in selected tRNA subsets. Initially, $m^1G37$ modification was reported to take place on three conserved tRNA subsets ($tRNA^{Arg}$, $tRNA^{Leu}$, $tRNA^{Pro}$); later on, few archaea and eukaryotes organisms revealed that other tRNAs also have the $m^1G37$ modification. The present study reveals Gm18, $m^1G37$ modification, and positions of $m^1G$ that take place next to the anticodon in tRNA sequences. We selected extremophile organisms and attempted to retrieve the $m^1G$ and Gm18 modification bases in tRNA sequences. Results showed that the Gm18 modification G residue occurs in all tRNA subsets except three tRNAs ($tRNA^{Met}$, $tRNA^{Pro}$, $tRNA^{Val}$). Whereas the $m^1G37$ modification base G is formed only on $tRNA^{Arg}$, $tRNA^{Leu}$, $tRNA^{Pro}$, and $tRNA^{His}$, the rest of the tRNAs contain adenine (A) next to the anticodon. Thus, we hypothesize that Gm18 modification and $m^1G$ modification occur irrespective of a G residue in tRNAs.

  • The interaction of the rod GTP binding protein, Transducin ($G_t$), with bleached Rhodopsin ($R^*$) was investigated by measuring radiolabeled guanine nucleotide binding to and release from soluble and/or membrane-bound Gt by reconstituting $G_t$ containing bound GDP ($G_t$-GDP) or the hydrolysis-resistant GTP analog guanylyl imidodiphosphate ($G_t$-p[NH]ppG) with $R^*$ under physiological conditions. Release of GDP and p[NH]ppG from $G_t$ occurred to the same extent and with the same light sensitivity both in the presence and absence of added GTP. Significant amounts of $G_t$ without bound nucleotide ($G_{t^-}$) were generated. When ROS containing bleached rhodopsin ($R^*$) were centrifuged in low ionic strength buffer, $G_{t^-}$ remained associated with the membrane fraction, whereas $G_t$-GDP remained in the soluble fraction. These results suggest that $G_t$-GDP and $G_t$-p[NH]ppG have similar affinities for $R^*$. The results also suggest that $G_{t^-}$, rather than $G_t$-GDP, is the moiety which exhibits tight, "light-induced" binding to rhodopsin.

  • In this paper, the calculation using simulation and two measurement methods for G/T of the telemetry are analyzed. Antenna gain and noise temperature are calculated by using ICARA and Antenna Noise Temperature Calculator. System G/T were calculated by using Antenna gain/noise temperature, LNA gain/noise temperature, cable loss. The first G/T measurement method is Y-factor measurement method, which is to calculate G/T by comparing LNA noise temperature and a signal level difference when an antenna and a 50ohm termination are respectively connected to an LNA input terminal Second method is Solar calibration measurement method that is to calculate G/T by comparing noise level difference when looking at the sun and lowest level point. Finally, the accuracy was reviewed by comparing the G/T calculation results with the two measurement methods, and the optimal measurement method according to antenna performance and operating environment was presented.

  • One of the most well-known geometric lattices is a partition lattice. Every upper interval of a partition lattice is a partition lattice. The whitney numbers of a partition lattices are the Stirling numbers, and the characteristic polynomial is a falling factorial. The set of partitions with a single non-trivial block containing a fixed element is a Boolean sublattice of modular elements, so the partition lattice is supersolvable in the sense of Stanley [6]. In this paper, we rephrase four results due to Heller[1] and Murty [4] in terms of matroids and give several characterizations of partition lattices. Our notation and terminology follow those in [8,9]. To clarify our terminology, let G, be a finte geometric lattice. If S is the set of points (or rank-one flats) in G, the lattice structure of G induces the structure of a (combinatorial) geometry, also denoted by G, on S. The size vertical bar G vertical bar of the geometry G is the number of points in G. Let T be subset of S. The deletion of T from G is the geometry on the point set S/T obtained by restricting G to the subset S/T. The contraction G/T of G by T is the geometry induced by the geometric lattice [cl(T), over ^1] on the set S' of all flats in G covering cl(T). (Here, cl(T) is the closure of T, and over ^ 1 is the maximum of the lattice G.) Thus, by definition, the contraction of a geometry is always a geometry. A geometry which can be obtained from G by deletions and contractions is called a minor of G.

  • Carcass traits are the most economically important traits in Hanwoo (Korean cattle). Recently, the development of the field of genomics has made it possible to identify DNA markers for the genetic evaluation of carcass and meat quality traits in beef cattle. The objective of this study was to assess the genetic effects of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers related to carcass traits by field evaluations in a commercial Hanwoo population. We evaluated 15 SNP markers (TG g.371T>C, APM1 g.1454G>A, FABP4 g.2834C>G, FABP4 g.3533T>A, FABP4 g.3691G>A, SCD g.10153A>G, SCD g.10329T >C, CPE g.601T>C, EDG1 g.166A>G, NPY g.4271T>C, GPD1 g.2766C>T, PDE1B g.17122A>G, PDE1B g.17507A>C, TNNT1 g.6650C>T, and RORC g.20152A>G) related to carcass traits in Hanwoo. Genotyping of these SNP markers was performed using PCR-RFLP analysis in Hanwoo steers (n = 1,536) to evaluate their association with carcass traits. Seven SNPs, APM1 g.1454G>, FABP4 g.3691G>A, SCD g.10153A>G, CPE g.601T>C, PDE1B g.17122A>G, TNNT1 g.6650C>T, and RORC g.20152A>G, were significantly associated with carcass traits such as marbling score (MS), backfat thickness (BF), musculus longissimus dorsi area (LDA), carcass weight (CW), meat grade (MG), meat color (MC), and maturity score (MA). The results suggest that these SNPs may be used as DNA markers for the selection of Hanwoo with higher meat quality.

  • Interest in 5G communication security has been growing recently amid growing expectations for 5G technology with faster speed and stability than LTE. However, 5G has so far included disparate areas, so it has not yet fully supported the issues of security. This paper proposes a blockchain-based IoT management model in order to efficiently provide the authentication of users using IoT in 5G In order to efficiently fuse the authentication of IoT users with probabilistic theory and physical structure, the proposed model uses two random keys in reverse direction at different layers so that two-way authentication is achieved by the managers of layers and layers. The proposed model applied blockchain between grouped IoT devices by assigning weights to layer information of IoT information after certification of IoT users in 5G environment is stratified on a probabilistic basis. In particular, the proposed model has better functions than the existing blockchain because it divides the IoT network into layered, multi-layered networks.

  • We show amongst other that if $f,g:[a,b]{\rightarrow}\mathbb{C}$ are two functions of bounded variation and such that the Riemann-Stieltjes integral $\int_a^bf(t)dg(t)$ exists, then for any continuous functions $h:[a,b]{\rightarrow}\mathbb{C}$, the Riemann-Stieltjes integral $\int_{a}^{b}h(t)d(f(t)g(t))$ exists and $${\int}_a^bh(t)d(f(t)g(t))={\int}_a^bh(t)f(t)d(g(t))+{\int}_a^bh(t)g(t)d(f(t))$$. Using this identity we then provide sharp upper bounds for the quantity $$\|\int_a^bh(t)d(f(t)g(t))\|$$ and apply them for trapezoid and Ostrowski type inequalities. Some applications for continuous functions of selfadjoint operators on complex Hilbert spaces are given as well.

  • Antisera to ox red blood cell were prepared by intraperitoneal hypermultiple injections without adjuvant in outbred white rabits. Purified IgG fraction from these rabbits anti-ox red blood cell antiserum for T subset assay was obtained by precipitation with 50% saturated ammonium sulphate followed by DEAE-cellulose chromatography and Sephadex G-150 gel filtration. These purified IgG fraction was compared with Cappel company standard IgG fraction for $T_G$ subpopulation assay. We used home-made IgG fraction and obtained favorable results in $T_G$ subopulation assay as Cappel company standard IgG fraction.

  • In order to maintain communication while the vehicle is moving, satellite azimuth angle and elevation angle correction are needed in real time. The elevation angle correction affects the system G/T according to the variation of the external noise temperature flowing into the antenna. G/T is expressed as a ratio of power gain G to noise temperature T and is an important performance function required for antenna gain design. This paper aims to G/T analysis considering elevation angle change and the establishment of an antenna design procedure. For this purpose, the relationship between elevation angle and brightness temperature including rain attenuation was analyzed according to recommendation ITU-R P.372 radio noise. Next, an antenna was designed based on the analysis results and design procedure was verified by G/T measurement. Through this experiment, G/T according to elevation angle was confirmed, and the minimum antenna gain analysis and design procedure required in the system could be established.
