A Study on the A.C.Breakdown Voltage-Temperature Characteristics for Air Insulated Power Installation (공기절연 전력설비를 위한 교류전로파괴전압-온도특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the characteristics of breakdown voltage($\textrm{V}_{Brms}$) -temperature(T) for air insulated power installation in flowing air with variation of T(30[$^{\circ}C$] -180[$^{\circ}C$]) are presented. To study these subjects, needle-to-needle gap in the circular pipe(inner diameter 5[cm]) are used. Also, theories of gas discharge and hydrodynamics in pipe were used to analysis for the characteristics. The $\textrm{V}_{Brms}$ is proportional to flow velocity. At high velocity, $\textrm{V}_{Brms}$ is described the saturation. At high T(180[$^{\circ}C$]), $\textrm{V}_{Brms}$ is about 4.7(kV] lower than low T(30[$^{\circ}C$]). The empirical equation obtained from this study is $\textrm{V}_{Brms}=A\times{Log[Re}+B$. Where A, B : Constant.

Changes in Total Trans Fatty Acid Content in Soybean Oil, Shortening, and Olive Oil Used for Frying (콩기름, 쇼트닝, 올리브유의 감자 스틱 튀김 횟수에 따른 트랜스 지방산 함량의 변화)

  • In this study, changes in total trans fatty acid (tFA) and fat contents were determined in soybean oil, shortening, and olive oil after potato sticks were fried 30 consecutive times, respectively. Prior to frying, the potato sticks contained 3.8% fat, with 43.2% tFAs, After the first frying in soybean oil, the total tFA content of the potato sticks sharply decreased to 3.2%, and then it gradually increased to 8.1 % after 30 consecutive times of frying. However, the total fat content of the potato sticks, fried in soybean oil increased to 15.2% after the first frying and thereafter it decreased to 9.75% with 30 repeated episodes of frying. When the potato sticks were fried in olive oil, similar changes in tFA and fat contents were shown; while such changes were not observed when shortening was used. After 30 consecutive frying events, the tFA contents in the soybean oil and olive oil increased to 4.15 and 5.75%, respectively; however, such an increase was not observed in the shortening. One can assume that most of the tFAs in the fried oils were from the potato sticks, which contained relatively high tFA content during the repeated deep-frying process.

Physiological Characteristics and Yield of Onion Affected by Rapid Temperature Changes (급변온도 변이에 따른 양파의 생리적 특성 및 수량 변화)

  • BACKGROUND: To evaluate the impact of rapid temperature change at spring and the early summer seasons in climate change, we have investigated the physiological response and yield of onion in a greenhouse with thermostat control system. METHODS AND RESULTS: Seedlings of onion(cv. Sunshine) were planted on October 30, 2012 and harvested on May 30, 2013. The used treatments(March-April-May) for a rapid temperature change were T0(control): $6.0-10.4-17.2^{\circ}C$, T1: $6.0-5.4(-5)-17.2^{\circ}C$, T2: $6.0-10.4-22.2(+5)^{\circ}C$ and T3: $6.0-5.4(-5)-22.2(+5)^{\circ}C$. Total yields of bulb within the temperature change as high temperature treatment T2 and control treatment T0 were increased significantly(p<0.05), as compared to the low temperature treatment T1. Low temperature conditions significantly (p<0.05) reduced plant height, SPAD reading, crude protein and fiber etc., as compared to the TO and T2. CONCLUSION: The rapid temperature changes were highly affected by low temperature than high temperature. These results suggest that rapid climate change of future could need systematic standard model for physiological characteristics and yields of onion.

Assessment of Water Quality and Pollutant Loads on Agricultural Watershed in Jeonbuk Province (전북지역 농업용 하천유역의 수질과 부하량 특성)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate water quality and pollutant loads on small agricultural watershed in Jeonbuk province. The EC level of investigated watershed ranged from 0.07 to 0.52 dS/m, BOD level ranged from 0.1 to 5.0 mg/L, and $COD_{Cr}$ level ranged from 0.6 to 17.7 mg/L. As above, contents of water quality indicators covered wide range, but each indicator was alike in mean content every other year. The contents of EC, $Ca^{2+},\;Mg^{2+},\;K^+\;and\;Na^+$ were decreased in rainy season, but the contents of BOD, $COD_{Cr},\;COD_{Mn}$, T-N and T-P were not greatly different as compared to dry season. And high content of SS showed substantial sediments near the surface flow out and influence on water system in rainy season. The pollutant loads measured in terminal of watershed were $9.6{\sim}757.9$ kg/day for BOD, $51.2{\sim}1418.5$ kg/day for T-N and $0.3{\sim}44.7$ kg/day for T-P. The pollutant loads of BOD, T-N and T-P in rainy season increased several times as compared to dry season. In rainy season, watershed with more than 30% in the proportion of paddy field to land showed relatively low discharge and pollutant loads in comparison to watershed with less than 30%. The discharge of watershed in rainy season increased 5.7times compared with the dry season in watershed with less than 30% in the proportion of paddy field to land, whereas was only 2.3times in watershed with more than 30%. The correlation coefficient($R^2$) of regression between discharge and pollutant loads of T-N were higher than those of BOD and T-P.

Nutritional Composition and Antioxidative Activity of Different Parts of Taraxacum coreanum and Taraxacum officinale (흰민들레와 서양민들레의 부위별 영양성분 및 항산화효과)

  • This study compared the nutritional composition and antioxidative activities of different parts (aerial part and root) of Taraxacum coreanum and Taraxacum officinale. To identify the nutrient composition of different parts of Daedelion species, nutrient contents were analyzed. Crude ash, protein, and fat contents of T. coreanum and T. officinale were higher in the aerial part compared to the root. There was no significant difference in crude ash, protein, or carbohydrate content of the aerial part depending on the Daedelion species. Aerial part contents of vitamin A, E, and C were significantly higher in T. coreanum than T. officinale. The K content of the aerial part of T. coreanum and T. officinale was highest, although there was no significant difference among Daedelion species. Contents of oxalic acid, citric acid, and acetic acid in the aerial part of T. coreanum were highest. Contents of total polyphenols, total flavonoids, and DPPH radical scavenging activity of the aerial part were significantly higher in T. coreanum than T. officinale. In conclusion, the aerial part of T. coreanum and T. officinale could be used as antioxidative functional food sources.

Proton and Deuteron Spin-Lattice Relaxation in Gaseous HD (HD 기체에서의 수소 및 중수소 원자핵 스핀-격자 완화시간에 관한 핵자기공명 연구)

  • The proton and deuteron spin-lattice relaxation times, $T_{1}(H)$ and $T_{1}(D)$, have been measured in HD between 30 K and 313 K in the pressure of 0.67 - 1.92 atm. The nuclear magnetic resonance frequencies are respectively 358.012 MHz for a proton and 58.958 MHz for a deuteron. From the measurements of $T_{1}(H)$ and $T_{1}(D)$ the ratio of the correlation times ${\tau}_{1}\;and\;{\tau}_{2}$ that are associated with the molecular angular momentum operators was obtained. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time at J = 1 state has been observed to have a temperature dependence being proportional to $T^{0.25}$.

  • In this paper, we introduce a second order linear differential operator T□: C (M) → C (M) as a natural generalization of Cheng-Yau operator, [8], where T is a (1, 1)-tensor on Riemannian manifold (M, h), and then we show on compact Riemannian manifolds, divT = divTt, and if divT = 0, and f be a smooth function on M, the condition T□ f = 0 implies that f is constant. Hereafter, we introduce T-energy functionals and by deriving variations of these functionals, we define T-harmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds, which is a generalization of Lk-harmonic maps introduced in [3]. Also we have studied fT-harmonic maps for conformal immersions and as application of it, we consider fLk-harmonic hypersurfaces in space forms, and after that we classify complete fL1-harmonic surfaces, some fLk-harmonic isoparametric hypersurfaces, fLk-harmonic weakly convex hypersurfaces, and we show that there exists no compact fLk-harmonic hypersurface either in the Euclidean space or in the hyperbolic space or in the Euclidean hemisphere. As well, some properties and examples of these definitions are given.
