Development and Validation of Spine Classification Model for Sarcopenia Diagnosis and Validation (근감소증 진단을 위한 척추 분류 모델 개발 및 검증)

  • 컴퓨터 단층촬영(CT)을 활용한 골격근 단면적은 근감소증과 관련된 기능을 평가하는 데 사용된다. 일반적인 근감소증 연구는 요추 3번의 골격근량을 주로 보지만 암 또는 폐절제술과의 상관관계를 예측하기 위한 다양한 연구에서는 흉추 4번, 7번, 8번, 10번, 12번 다양한 수준의 골격근량으로 연구를 진행하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 흉부와 복부 CT 영상에서 근감소증 진단을 위해서 흉추와 요추의 영역별 슬라이스를 검출하기 위해서 CNN 구조의 EfficientNetV2를 전이학습하여 인공지능 모듈을 개발하였다. 인공지능 모듈은 전체 흉부 및 복부 CT 영상에서 Cervical, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T9, T10, T11, T12, L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, Sacral 총 19 클래스를 검출하도록 하였다. Test 데이터셋을 사용하여 Confusion Matrix와 Grad-CAM으로 모델의 정확도를 시각화하여 보였으며 검증으로 인공지능 모듈의 정확성을 측정하였다. 끝으로 우리가 개발한 다기관 공동연구 지원플랫폼에 적용하여 시각화된 결과를 보였다.

  • In 1984, Johnson[A bounded convergence theorem for the Feynman in-tegral, J, Math. Phys, 25(1984), 1323-1326] proved a bounded convergence theorem for hte Feynman integral. This is the first stability theorem of the Feynman integral as an $L(L_2 (\mathbb{R}^N), L_2(\mathbb{R}^{N}))$ theory. Johnson and Lapidus [Generalized Dyson series, generalized Feynman digrams, the Feynman integral and Feynmans operational calculus. Mem, Amer, Math, Soc. 62(1986), no 351] studied stability theorems for the Feynman integral as an $L(L_2 (\mathbb{R}^N), L_2(\mathbb{R}^{N}))$ theory for the functional with arbitrary Borel measure. These papers treat functionals which involve only a single integral. In this paper, we obtain the stability theorems for the Feynman integral as an $L(L_1 (\mathbb{R}^N), L_{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{N}))$theory for the functionals which involve double integral with some Borel measures.

  • this paper deal with the estimation of the power spectral density function of time series. A kernel estimator which is based on local average is defined and the rates of convergence of the pointwise, $$L_2$-norm; and; $L{\infty}$-norm associated with the estimator are investigated by restricting as to kernels with suitable assumptions. Under appropriate regularity conditions, it is shown that the optimal rate of convergence for 0$N^{-r}$ both in the pointwiseand $$L_2$-norm, while; $N^{r-1}(logN)^{-r}$is the optimal rate in the $L{\infty}-norm$. Some examples are given to illustrate the application of main results.

  • The development of methods for the inert and stable radiohalogenation of targeted radiopharmaceuticals is a prerequisite for real-time diagnosis and therapy using radiohalogenated radiopharmaceuticals. Radiohalogenated carboranes demonstrate superior stability in vivo and versatile applications compared with directly labeled tyrosine analogues or synthetically modified organic compounds. Herein, we focus on the most common approaches for the radioiodination (123l, 124l, 125l, and 131l) of carborane derivatives.

Quality Evaluation of Cheongpomuk Added with Chlorella Powder

  • This study examined the quality characteristics to evaluate the optimal mixing ratio of a chlorella powder in Cheongpomuk. The total polyphenol and total flavonoids contents of Cheongpomuk and chlorella powder was 279.90 ㎍/mL, 489.50 ㎍/mL and 48.79 ㎍/mL, 687.85 ㎍/mL respectively. The DPPH free radical scavenging activities and ABTS radical scavenging activities of chlorella powder was 65.39%, 91.28% respectively. The L values (58.85~26.23), a values (-0.44~-5.84) of the Hunter's color values decreased and b value (-10.98 ~4.12) increased significantly in proportion to the amount of chlorella powder. The total polyphenol contents (55.00~734.20 ㎍/mL), total flavonoids contents (41.00~88.29 ㎍/mL), DPPH free radical scavenging activities (35.10~65.50%) and ABTS radical scavenging activities (50.29~92.86%) of Cheongpomuk increased significantly in groups of chlorella powder. In the physical properties, the hardness (135.93~103.93 g/㎠), chewiness (6.76~3.76 g), springiness (4.92~4.36 %), and gumminess (147.70~94.23) of Cheongpomuk decreased significantly in proportion to the amount of chlorella powder. The Cheongpomuk containing 15% chlorella powder showed a high score with regard to color, flavor, moistness, chewiness and overall acceptance. The appropriate addition amount of chlorella powder for making Cheongpomuk is 15%. This study indicate that Cheongpomuk treated with chlorella powder had the highest functional component and antioxidant activity.

  • The ami of our study was on the anti-obesity effect of ethanol extract from Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim root (TKM) in murine adipocytes, 3T3-L1 cells. This study focused on anti-adipogenic activity through inhibition of cell differentiation in 3T3-L1 cells treated TKM. 100 ug/ml of non-cytotoxic TEM remarkablely inhibited content of triglycerol and suppressed expressions of $C/EBP{\alpha}$, $PPAR{\gamma}a$ and SREBP-1c related with lipogenic transcription factors in theres 3T3-L1 cells compared to (-)control cells. As phosphorylations of AMPK and ACC were incerased, HSL and CPT-1 mRNA expression increased upon TKM treatment, which involved in inhibition of fatty acid synthase expression. In conclusion, these results indicate that TKM can inhibit mRNA and protein expression of lipogenic genes in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. Our study suggests that TKM has potential anti-obesity effects and is a convergence therapeutic functional agent with anti-adipogenic activity via hypolipogenesis.

Anti-oxidative and Anti-inflammatory Constituents from the Extracts of Brassica napus L. Whole Plant (유채 전초 추출물 유래 항산화 및 항염 활성 성분)

  • In this study, we investigated anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory efficacy, and identified their constituents from Brassica napus L. (Korean name: Yuchae) whole plant. Upon the anti-oxidative activities screening, the ethanol extract exhibited potent DPPH and ABTS+ radical scavenging activities. On the anti-inflammation studies using LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells, the extract inhibited the production of NO and pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6) effectively. To identify major constituents of B. napus extract, further purification was performed and led to isolation of two compounds; isorhamnetin 3,7-O-diglucoside(1) and isorhamnetin 3-O-glucoside(2). Quantitative analysis by high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) determined the flavonoid 1 as the major constituent. Isolated compounds showed DPPH radical scavenging effects and decreased NO levels without causing cell toxicities. These results indicate that the extract of Yuchae, a rich plant resource in Jeju Island, could be potentially applicable as an anti-oxidative and/or anti-inflammatory ingredients.

Cytoprotective effect of Eriobotrya japonica L. against the iron-induced oxidative stress through AMPK activation (AMPK 활성화를 통한 중금속 유발 산화적 스트레스에 대한 비파엽의 세포 보호 효과)

  • Objectives : In this study, we investigated the cytoprotective effect of Eriobotrya japonica L. (EJ) extract against Arachidonic acid (AA)+iron-induced oxidative stress. Methods : To confirm the cytoprotective effect of EJ against AA+iron-induced oxidative stress in HepG2 cells, it was evaluated by MTT assay, immunoblot anaylsis, and Calcein-AM/propidium iodide (PI) staining. Additionally, the mechanism of action of the cytoprotective effect was evaluated through molecular mechanisms. Results : EJ (100 ㎍/mL) inhibited Arachidonic acid (AA)+iron-induced cell death in a concentration-dependent manner. It also inhibited AA+iron-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and ROS production. EJ activated the LKB1-AMPK signaling pathway. Conclusions : In conclusion, EJ has the ability to protect liver cells from oxidative stress, indicating that it is related to AMPK-LKB1 signaling pathways.

The Mutant Lactobacillus plantarum GNS300 Showed Improved Exopolysaccharide Production and Antioxidant Activity

  • After random mutagenesis, the mutant Lactobacillus plantarum GNS300 showed improved exopolysaccharide production as determined by the quantification of total sugar. The mutant L. plantarum GNS300 produced 2.82 g/l of exopolysaccharide which showed 79.62% improved exopolysaccharide production compared with the parental strain. When exopolysaccharide of L. plantarum GNS300 was analyzed, the exopolysaccharide is composed of galactose (93.35%) and glucose (6.65%). Through the optimization of fermentation conditions using a bioreactor, 2.93 g/l of exopolysaccharide was produced from 20 g/l of glucose at 35℃, 500 rpm, and 0.1 vvm for 12 h. The mutant L. plantarum GNS300 exhibited 69.18% higher antioxidant activity than that from the parental strain, which might be caused by higher exopolysaccharide production. The concentrated supernatant of the mutant L. plantarum GNS300 inhibited the growth of gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus) and gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and Salmonella typhimurium).

A Study on the Auto Lumbar Spine Classification Model Based on EfficinetNetV2 (EfficientNetV2기반 자동 요추분류 모델에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 복부 CT 의료영상에서 근감소증 진단을 위한 지표로 활용하는 요추 3번 슬라이스를 분류하기 위해서 CNN 기반의 EfficientNetV2를 사용하여 자동분류모델을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 전체 복부 CT 의료영상에서 Thoracic, L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, Sacral 7개의 슬라이스를 검출하도록 하였다. 자동분류모델의 정확성을 측정하기 위해서 Test 데이터셋을 사용하여 Confusion Matrix 결과를 통해 개발된 모델의 성능을 검증한 결과를 보였다. 본 연구결과는 복부 CT 영상에서 기존 L3 레벨의 특정 단면에서 근육량을 측정하는 것에서 다양한 부위에서 측정할 수 있는 장점을 갖게 된다. 그리고 의료영상기반의 근감소증 진단 연구에 도움을 줄 것으로 기대하고 있다.
