  • 1,596 ‘H' primary school children were surveyed every year on their oral hygiene status from 1981 to 1984.   • Preschoolers are the most effective age to start fire safety education. But, if the education contents are inappropriate, they may form the wrong habit to preschoolers. Many educational contents of fire safety in Korea are not so obvious in the principle and order of priority about what to do during fire and they often contain unnecessary contents to preschoolers such as how to use fire extinguisher. This paper has analyzed fire safety awareness of preschoolers and teachers and, based on the results, has claimed unsuitability of training on how to use fire extinguisher and has suggested the improvement of fire safety education.

  • Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive and safe technique for motor cortex stimulation. TMS is used to treat neurological and psychiatric disorders, including mood and movement disorders. TMS can also treat several types of chronic neuropathic pain. The pain relief mechanism of cortical stimulation is caused by modifications in neuronal excitability. Depression is a common co-morbidity with chronic pain. Pain and depression should be treated concurrently to achieve a positive outcome. Insomnia also frequently occurs with chronic lower back pain. Several studies have proposed hypotheses for TMS pain management. Herein, we report two cases with positive results for the treatment of depression and insomnia with chronic low back pain by TMS.

Performance Improvement of an Active Neutral Harmonic Suppressor System Under Unbalanced Load Conditions

  • Three-phase four-wire electrical distribution systems are widely employed in manufacturing plants, commercial and residential buildings Due to the nonlinear loads connected to the distribution system, the neutral conductor carries excessive harmonic currents even under balanced loading since the triplen harmonics in phase currents do not cancel each other This may result in wiring failure of the neutral conductor and overloading of the distribution transformer In response to these concerns, a cost-effective neutral current harmonic suppressor system has been proposed. This paper proposes an improved control method for the harmonic suppressor system under unbalanced load conditions The proposed control method compensates for only the harmonic components in the neutral conductor, and the zero-sequence fundamental component due to unbalanced loading is prevented from flowing through the harmonic suppressor system This remedies overloading and power loss of the system The experimental results on a prototype validate the proposed control approach.

  • In various areas of the 4th industry, a big issue is software quality enhancement for stability and reliability of the smart software systems. After revising software promotion law at 2020, we must clearly define requirements and separate design parts and implementation parts of an all public software development contracts. In this study, we need to validate whether the final implementation of software is followed by the original design or not. To do this, we consider the design restoration through software visualization based on reverse engineering. Therefore we propose an UML design extraction and visualization method based on reverse engineering. Based on this, we may validate whether it is implemented according to the original design, and how much visualizes and includes the code the internal complexity for improvement of software quality.

  • Melilotus dentatus (Waldst. & Kit.) Desf. is an invasive plant native to Europe, Russia, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and China. It was introduced to North America to create grazing areas for livestock; its growth has since become uncontrollable. Melilotus dentatus is now found in Namyang-eup, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea as an alien plant. This species is morphologically similar to Melilotus suaveolens Ledeb. and Melilotus officinalis (L.) Lam. M. dentatus differs from other species based on its oblong leaflets, distinct teeth, two ovules, surface of the legume that is minutely reticulate-nerved or smooth, and seeds that are dark green to greenish brown. Here, we have provided a detailed description and photographs of the alien species M. dentatus as well as an updated key to five Melilotus taxa studied, which will help prepare a continuous monitoring and management plan.

Inverted CdSe/ZnS Quantum Dots Light-Emitting Diode Using Low-Work Function Organic Material Polythylenimine Ethoylated

  • Over the past several years, colloidal core/shell type quantum dots lighting-emitting diodes (QDLEDs) have been extensively studied and developed for the future of optoelectronic applications. In the work, we fabricate an inverted CdSe/ZnS quantum dot (QD) based light-emitting diodes (QDLED). In order to reduce work function of indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode for inverted structure, a very thin (<10 nm) polyethylenimine ethoxylated (PEIE) is used as surface modifier[1] instead of conventional metal oxide electron injection layer. The PEIE layer substantially reduces the work function of ITO electrodes which is estimated to be 3.08 eV by ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy (UPS). From transmission electron microscopy (TEM) study, CdSe/ZnS QDs are uniformly distributed and formed by a monolayer on PEIE layer. In this inverted QDLEDs, blend of poly (9,9-di-n-octyl-fluorene-alt-benzothiadiazolo) and poly(N,N'-bis(4-butylphenyl)-N,N'-bis(phenyl)benzidine] are used as hole transporting layer (HTL) to improve hole transporting property. At the operating voltage of 8 V, the QDLED device emitted spectrally orange color lights with high luminance up to 2450 cd/m2, and showed current efficacy of 0.6 cd/A, respectively.

화병과 사상체질 및 기타 요인과의 관련성 연구 : 2006년, 강원도 지역 주민을 대상으로 (A Study on the Correlationship between Hwa-Byung and Various Factors including Sasang Constitution : for the Inhabitants of Gangwon-do in 2006)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this research is to investigate correlationship between Hwa-Byung and various factors, including Sasang Constitution. Methods: The research about Hwa-Byung, various factors and Sasang Constitution were carried out for 649 Participants, male was 272 and female was 377. Hwa-Byung diagnosed by Hwa-Byung Diagnostic Interview Schedule(HBDIS). Sasang Constitution was diagnosed by a Sasang Constitutional specialist with recorded voices, face pictures, tongue pictures and researched data about Sasang Constitution. Collected data were analyzed by the qui-square test and t-test. Results: 1. The prevalence of Hwa-Byung in Taeeumin and Soeumin were higher than that of Soyangin but it was not significant. 2. In the case of meeting frequency of friends, Hwa-Byung group was higher than none Hwa-Byung group and it was significant. 3. In the case of existence of negative influencing people, the rate of Hwa-Byung group was higher than that of none Hwa-Byung group. Among them, Interfere, Blame, Discomfort and Indifferent were significant. Conclusions: Hwa-Byung may have correlationship with Sasang Constitution, meeting frequency of friends and existence of negative influencing people.

한열변증을 통한 열증 대상자에 산양삼과 재배인삼의 상부 승열 작용에 대한 인체적용시험 (Clinical Trial for the Heat-Rising Action of Ginseng and Cultivated Wild Ginseng to The Subject Diagnosed as Heat Pattern by Cold-Heat Patternization)

  • Objectives: The aim of this trial is to investigate the effect of Ginseng and Wild Cultivated Ginseng to Heat pattern subject. Methods: Eighty-nine Subjects were diagnosed as heat pattern by Cold-Heat Patternization and divided into Ginseng group (n=30), Wild Cultivated Ginseng group (n=31) and Placebo group (n=28) in their 1 st visit. In each visit, The researchers measured the subject's facial temperature using the infrared thermometer (Testo 835-T1). After that, The subjects were asked to mark the current score of flushing on the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and to complete the Chalder-Fatigue Scale (CFS) in each visit. The subjects took the test drug for one week and returned the remaining drug on the 2nd visit. The trial result was analyzed with one-way ANOVA using SPSS for Windows version 18. Results: 1. Systolic blood pressure was significantly lower in the Ginseng group and Wild Cultivated Ginseng group than in the control group (p=0.021). 2. There was no significant difference in facial temperature between each groups. 3. The current score of flushing showed the greatest decrease in the Ginseng group compared to the other groups but there was no significant difference (p=0.205). 4. The score of Chalder-Fatigue Scale was decreased in all groups but not statistically significant (p=0.180). Conclusions: This study showed that taking Ginseng extract and Wild Cultivated Ginseng extract do not affect to heat-rising reaction to the subjects diagnosed as heat pattern.

통계분석을 이용한 경기도 대기 중 미세먼지 및 중금속 분포 특성 (Distribution Characteristics of PM10 and Heavy Metals in Ambient Air of Gyeonggi-do Area using Statistical Analysis)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the distribution characteristics of $PM_{10}$ and heavy metals concentrations in the ambient air of Gyeonggi-do area by region and season from February, 2013 to March, 2014. The regression model for the prediction of formation characteristics and contamination degree of $PM_{10}$ and heavy metals by correlation analysis and regression analysis for using the multivariate statistical analysis was also established. The main wind direction during the investigation period was South East (SE) and West South West (WSW) winds, and the concentration of $SO_2$ at Ansan with industrial region showed 1.6 times higher than Suwon, Euiwang with residential region. The concentrations (median) of Pb, Cu and Ni at Ansan showed 3.2~4.5, 1.9~2.2 and 1.7~2.6 times respectively higher than those at Suwon. By the seasonal concentration variation, the concentrations of $PM_{10}$, Pb, Fe and As in winter and spring (December to May) showed 1.7, 1.9, 1.9 and 2.7 times respectively higher than those in summer and fall (June to November). As, Fe and $PM_{10}$ had a big difference by the seasonal factors, and Cu and Ni were evaluated to be influenced by the regional factors. From the results of correlation analysis among the target items, the correlation coefficient of PM and Mn had 0.82 (p/0.01) and that of Fe and Mn had 0.82 (p/0.01), which showed high correlation. And the correlation coefficients for $SO_2$ and Pb, CO and $PM_{10}$ were 0.66 (p/0.01) and 0.62 (p/0.01) respectively. The multiple linear regression models for $PM_{10}$, Pb, Cu, Cr, As, Ni, Fe and Mn were established by independent variables of CO, $SO_2$ and meteorological factors (wind speed, relative humidity). In the regression models, independent variable $SO_2$ was in cause-and-effect relationship with all dependent variables, and $PM_{10}$, Fe and Mn were influenced by CO and wind speed, and Pb, Cu, Ni and As had a main factor of $SO_2$.
