Species Diversity of Chironomid Midge and Evaluation on Removal Capacity of Organic Matter Using a Dominant Species, Chironomus nipponensis in Agroecosystem (농업생태계 깔따구 유충의 다양성 및 우점종 닙폰깔따구를 이용한 유기물 분해능 평가)

  • To recognize the species composition and community of chironomid midge in agroecosystem and evaluate removal capacity of organic matter using the dominant species among them. Chironomid midge and invertebrate cohabitants were quantitatively collected at 78 representative stations of five habitat types (in arable land during 2004$\sim$2006) A, paddy fields of the large scale arable land; B, paddy fields of the environmental friendly arable land; C, influent of domestic waste water; D, influent of waste water by livestock; E, the irrigation ditch of paddy area. The total sixteen species of chironomid midges at arable land were presented. And also chironomid midges were recognized by five habitat types: eleven species in D, eight in A, seven in E, six in B, and two in C. We confirmed dominant species in each habitat types as followings: Chironomus nipponensis in A, C, and D; Cricotopus sylvestris in E; Tanytarsus seosanensis in B. Water quality and community index were high in E, but low in A, B, C, and D. Comparing with non-treatment, removal activities of organic matter in bottom by C. nipponensis were increased 18% in 90 individuals treatment.

A Study on the Accuracy of the Loran-C Fix of Korean Chain in Pusan Area (부산지역에서의 Loran-C 한국체인의 측위정도에 관한 연구)

  • The operation of Far East Chain(GRI 5970) of Loran - C system had been stopped on June, 1995, but that of Korean Chain(GRI 9930) of Loran - C system which was jointed with North West Pacific Chain(GRI 8930) and Russia Chain(GRI 7950) by international cooperation, was started on January 1996. In this paper, in order to study the accuracy of Loran - C fix of Korean Chain, the authors examined and analyzed the data of the reciever of Loran - C(LC -90, Furuno) and GPS(AccNav Sport super (TM), Eagle) measured automatically and continually for 2 seconds at interval of 5 minutes from November 22, 1992, to January 20, 1996 at the fixed position of National Fisheries University of Pusan, The results obtained were as follows ; 1)The mean time differences of M-W, M-X, and M-Y pair measured in the base observed position were 12333.09${\mu}$s, 28338.44${\mu}$s, and 42806.01${\mu}$s respectively and the mean standard deviations of that were 0.0121${\mu}$s, 0.0290${\mu}$s, and 0.0327${\mu}$s respectively. The daily and monthly variance forms of time difference at each pair appeared in a similar reappearance. 2)The mean standard deviations of the latitude and longitude by Loran - C were 9.1m and 17.4m in W.X pair, 11.5m and 13.7m in W.Y pair, and 8.1m and 29.3m in X.Y pair respectively, and then the probable radiuses within 95% of each pair were 39.2m, 35.7m, and 60.8m, respectively. Therefore, It is to be desired that W.Y par is selected to improve the accuracy in Pusan area. 3)The mean standard deviations of the latitude and longitude by GPS were 15.4m and 15.0m and the probable radius within 95% was 43.4m. 4)The position errors for GPS and each pair of Loran - C were 16.0m to the South in GPS and 265.2m to the East in W.X pair of Loran - C, 279.5m to the North in W.Y pair of that, and 224.3m to the North-West in X.Y pair of that, so GPS is about 250m higher than Loran - C in accuracy.

Routing considering Channel Contention in Wireless Communication Networks with Multiple Radios and Multiple Channels (다수 라디오와 채널을 갖는 무선통신망에서 채널경쟁을 고려한 라우팅)

  • In wireless communication networks, single-radio single-channel architecture degrades throughput and end-to-end delay due to half-duplex transmission of wireless node and route intra interference. Also, In contention-based MAC (Medium Access Control) architecture, channel contention reduces throughput and packet collision enlarges end-to-end delay. In this paper, we use multi-radio multi-channel architecture which will make wireless node to operate in full duplex mode, and exclude route intra interference. Based on this architecture, we propose a new link metric, ccf which reflects the characteristics of a contention-based wireless link, and propose a routing path metric MCCR considering channel switching delay and route intra interference. MCCR is compared with MCR by simulation, the performance of a route established by MCCR outperforms the performance of a route by MCR in terms of throughput and end-to-end delay.

Deposition and Photoluminescence Characteristics of Silicon Carbide Thin Films on Porous Silicon (다공성실리콘 위의 탄화규소 박막의 증착 및 발광특성)

  • Silicon carbide (SiC) thin films were deposited on the porous silicon substrates by chemical vapour de-position(CVD) using MTS as a source material. The deposited films were ${\beta}$-SiC with poor crystallity con-firmed by XRD measurement. It was considered that the films showed the mixed characteistics of cry-stalline and amorphous SiC where amorphous SiC where amorphous SiC played a role of buffer layer in interface between as-dep films and Si substrate. The buffer layer reduced lattice mismatch to some extent the generally occurs when SiC films are deposited on Si. The low temperature (10K) PL (phtoluminescence) studies showed two broad bands with peaks at 600 and 720 for the films deposited at 1100$^{\circ}C$ The maximum PL peak of the crystalline SiC was observed at 600 nm and the amrophous SiC of 720 nm was also confirmed. PL peak due the amorphous SiC was smaller than that of the crystalline SiC, PL of porous Si might be disapperared due to densification during heat treatment.

Maternal-mediated Transmission of Nosema bombycis Via the Surface and Internal Site of Silkworm Eggs (Nosema bombycis의 모체전염에 관한 난면 및 난내 경로 검정)

  • Nosema bombycis was found on the both of surface and inside of silkworm eggs layed by infected female moth, maternal-mediated transmission of those pathogens via the surface or internal site of silkworm eggs were investigated. All of the meconia from infected female moths contained pathogenic spores, those concentration were 4.6(${\pm}$0.24)X106 /ml. The pathogens on the surface of nondiapause eggs were transmitted to the progeny larvae at the rate of 54.5%, however, lost their activity before hatching for the case of overwintered eggs or acid treatment(16% HCI at 46.2$^{\circ}C$ for 6 min). N. bombycis in the silkworm eggs localized at the serosa, yolk, embryo except chorion tissue in the silkworm eggs layed by infected female moths. Development of the pathognes in the eggs was synchronized with embryogenesis, which secured the safety of pathogens against environmental condition, resulting in the high transmissibility of 91.2${\pm}$1.80%.

발효조건에 따른 동물성 유기물의 분해 특성

  • 1.퇴비 온도의 상승에 비례하여 폐사계 체내의 온도도 상승하여 퇴적식 퇴비단의 경우 $55^{\circ}C$내외의 고온지속기간이 약 30일정도 유지되었다. 반면에 토양 중에 매립된 폐사계의 체내 온도는 발효 전 기간 동안 $30^{\circ}C$ 이상으로 상승하지 못한 채 주변토양 온도와 거의 비슷한 수준을 유지하였다. 토양온도는 외기온의 변화에 즉각적인 반응을 보이지 않았다. 2. 시험용 발효조 내에서의 송풍여부에 따른 퇴비의 발효온도 변화추이는 송풍 처리구에서는 퇴비화 3일째에 최고온도 $68^{\circ}C$를 기록한 반면에 무송풍구에서는 퇴비화 5일째에 최고온도 $72^{\circ}C$를 기록하였다. 3. 퇴비단 표층에서 채취된 시료에서 검출된 $H_2S$$CH_3$SH 농도는 송풍 처리구에 있어서는 퇴비화 개시 후 20일 경과 후 각 각 28.5, 16.0 ppb 수준을 나타냈고 35일 경과 시에는 각각 57.7, 11.7 ppb, $CH_3SH$의 경우에는 23.7, 9.9 ppb 수준의 발생량을 기록하는 등 전반적으로 송풍처리구가 무송풍 처리구에 비해 악취가스의 발생량이 상대적으로 낮았다. 4. 폐사계를 밀폐용기 내에서 발표 시 수거된 침출수 중의 미생물 수가 토양매립 상태 하에서 수거된 침출수 중의 미생물 수보다 더 적은 경향을 보이고 있다. 5. 퇴비단 내에서 발효에 따른 폐사계 중량은 최초 3일간에 급격히 감소하고 시간의 경과에 따라 그 감소속도는 줄어든다. 발효온도가 높을수록 조직의 분해속도가 빨라지고 폐사계의 중량감소 속도도 빨라졌다. 6. 일반 퇴비와 폐사계를 발효시킨 퇴비 사이에 비료성분과 중금속 함량의 유의적인 차이는 발견되지 않았다.

Synthesis of Tetramethylorthosilicate (TMOS) and Silica Nanopowder from the Waste Silicon Sludge (폐(廢)실리콘슬러지로부터 TMOS 및 실리카 나노분말(粉末) 제조(製造))

  • Tetramethylorthosilicate (TMOS) and silica nanopowder were synthesized from the waste silicon sludge containing 15% weight of silicon powder. TMOS, a precursor of silica nanopowder, was firstly prepared from the waste silicon sludge by catalytic chemical reaction. The maximum recovery of the TMOS was 100% after 5 hrs regardless of reaction temperature above $130^{\circ}C$. But the initial reaction rate became faster while the reaction temperature was higher than $150^{\circ}C$. As the methanol feedrate Increased from 0.8 ml/min to 1.4 ml/min, the yield of reaction was not varied after 3 hrs. Then, silica nanopowder was synthesized from the synthesized TMOS by flame spray pyrolysis. The morphology of as-prepared silica nanopowder was spherical and non-aggregated. The average particle diameters ranged from 9 nm to 30 nm and were in proportional to the precursor feed rate, and precursor concentration.

Purified Polysaccharide Activating the Complement System from Leaves of Diospyos kaki L. (감잎(Diospyos kaki L.)으로부터 정제한 보체계 활성화 다당류)

  • Cold and hot water fractions of Diospyros kaki were screened to determine its anti-complementary activity. Flour of Diospyros kaki leaf (250 g) was boiled at $100^{\circ}C$ for 3 h and passed through a membrane of 10 kDa molecular weight (DK-0). DK-0 was precipitated with ethanol and refluxed with methanol to obtain the crude polysaccharide (DKC). DKC-1 was isolated by ion exchange chromatography on DEAE-Toyopearl 650C, and DKC-1c was purified from DKC-1 by size exclusion chromatography on Bio gel P-60. The anti-complementary activities of DKC-1c at $1000\;{\mu}g/mL$ were 85.4 and 61.1% via whole and alternative pathways, respectively. DKC-1c was determined as a neutral polysaccharide composed of glucose (29.0 mol.%), arabinose (24.3 mol.%), and galactose (16.2 mol.%) with the molecular weight of 66.6 kDa. Results of agarose gel immunoelectrophoresis revealed DKC-1c, as a complement activator, cleaved C3 into C3a and C3b via both pathways.

Characteriatics of Single Cell Suspension of Garlic, Red Pepper and Cucumber Prepared by Protopectin Hydrolytic Enzymes (펙틴분해효소를 이용한 마늘, 고추와 오이의 단세포화물의 제조)

  • Protopectinase (PPase) from Bacillus subtilis was used to investigate enzymatic maceration of vegetable tissues. Optimum concentration and pH of PPase were 0.75, 0.75, and 0.5%, and 5.0, 8.0, 7.0 for red pepper, garlic, and cucumber, respectively. Optimum shaking-rate, reaction time, and temperature of PPase were 250 rpm, 150 min, and $37^{\circ}C$, respectively. Yields of mechanically macerated red pepper, garlic, and cucumber were 45.8, 47.5, and 82.1%, whereas those treated with PPase were 81.8, 84, and 98%. Over 40% Vitamin C, the most unstable component during mechanical maceration, remained intact for 12 days after enzymatic treatment. Color differences $({\Delta}E)$ of mechanically macerated red pepper, garlic, and cucumber were 1.16, 2.86, and 3.27, whereas those of PPase-treated ones were 2.87, 7.68, and 5.22 after heat treatment at $100^{\circ}C$ for 20 min. Capsaicin content of mechanically macerated red pepper was 0.4 mg/100 g, whereas that treated with PPase was 1.32 mg/100 g. Viscosity of PPase-treated vegetable decreased slowly with increasing storage period, whereas that of mechanically macerated vegetable sharply decreased. These results indicate PPase treatment of vegetable could be better choice for preparation of high-values and functionally processed food and for extending preservation period.
