MgO based cement for the low-temperature calcination of magnesite required less energy and emitted less $CO_2$ than the manufacturing of Portland cements. Furthermore, adding reactive MgO to Portland-pozzolan cement can improve their performance and also increase their capacity to absorb atmospheric $CO_2$. In this study, the basic research for magnesia cement using $MgCO_3$ and magnesium silicate ore (serpentine) as starting materials was carried out. In order to increase the hydration activity, $MgCO_3$ and serpentinite were fired at a temperature higher than $600^{\circ}C$. In the case of $MgCO_3$ as starting material, hydration activity was highest at $700^{\circ}C$ firing temperature; this $MgCO_3$ was completely transformed to MgO after firing. After the hydration reaction with water, MgO was totally transformed to $Mg(OH)_2$ as hydration product. In the case of using only $MgCO_3$, compressive strength was 35 $kgf/cm^2$ after 28 days. The addition of silica fume and $Mg(OH)_2$ led to an enhancements of the compressive strength to 55 $kgf/cm^2$ and 50 $kgf/cm^2$, respectively. Serpentine led to an up to 20% increase in the compressive strength; however, addition of this material beyond 20% led to a decrease of the compressive strength. When we added $MgCl_2$, the compressive strength tends to increase.

Recently, indoor air quality (IAQ) has been one of the major concerns of people. Indoor parking lots are subject to be exposed to high concentrations of air pollutants emitted from vehicles. This study was performed to investigate indoor air quality (IAQ) at indoor parking lots. Sampling sites were selected 5 indoor parking lots. Target indoor air quality parameters include a number of criteria pollutants such PM$_{10}$, CO, CO$_2$, and HCHO. In addition, a variation of IAQ according to ventilation system operating was measured at C site (underground parking lot). In general, all pollutants were maintained below indoor air quality maintenance standards. The indoor air quality at indoor parking lots was affected by the availability of the ventilation facility and their operation frequency. At the underground parking lot (C site) with ventilation system, TVOC concentration according to ventilation system operating were found to be lower operating (488.2 ${\mu}g/m^3$) than non-operating (1,401.2 ${\mu}g/m^3$).
Environmental conservation has become one of the greatest concerns of all the people in the world. This issue is related to wood utilization in two major view points such as carbon dioxide emitted by the use of manufacturing energy and absorbed during the growth of trees. Wood construction materials require less manufacturing energy, which, in turn, means less carbon dioxide emission. In addition, wood keeps absorbed carbon in itself as far as it is not burnt. Therefore, wood is environmentally superior to other materials in terms of potential effects on atmospheric carbon dioxide. As examples of the environmental effect of wood utilization, the following two results were obtained: 1) If wood construction becomes popular in Korea as in Japan, more than 24% of carbon dioxide emission during construction of residential housings can be reduced: and 2) If aluminum windows are substituted by wood windows, more than 19% of carbon dioxide emission can be reduced. If the principle of "cut and plant" is kept well, wood is the best construction material for environmental protection as well as human residence.
Laser-welded Tailored Blank is the hottest thing in many automobile companies. But they demand on weld quality, reproducibility, and formability. So it is the great problem of automation of laser welding process. Therefore, it is requested to construct on-line process monitoring system on high accuracy. The light which is emitted from plasma and spatter in laser welding was detected by photo-diodes. It was found that the light intensity depends on welding speed. laser power, and flow rate of assist gas. The relationship between the plasma and spatter and the weld quality can be used for on-line laser weld monitoring systems.

$CO_2$ separation from a flue gas by using the gas hydrate technology was suggested by Kang et al. They reported phase equilibrium conditions of mixed gases composed of $CO_2$ and N2 with THF as a thermodynamic promoter. In this study, we reported the phase equilibrium conditions of a mixed gas which had a realistic composition of the blast furnace gas (BFG) emitted from the steel-making process. The phase equilibrium measurements were done by using the "continuous" QCM method, and the results demonstrate that this method is efficient and as accurate as the conventional temperature search method.

In this paper, the life cycle assessment(LCA) methodology is applied to Personal Computer's basic materials in order to analyze the impact to the environment. LCA data collection is carried out taking into account on main materials of PC's parts and component. And the impact assessment is the environmental burden on three factor into air emission(CO2, SOx, NOx), five factor into water emission(BOD, COD, SS, N, P), and three factor on transported substance(cl, NH4, SO4). According to the result, the environmental burden of PC's basic materials was proved to be used total energy 6,285Mj and emitted CO2 259.8kg, SOx 3,571g, NOx 330g, COD 1,328g, P 246g, N 2,434g. And this paper was presented the problems of its disposition-incinerating, landfill, and recycling.
$WO_3$-doped $SnO_2$ thin films were prepared in a solution-deposition method and their gas-sensing characteristics were investigated. The doping of $WO_3$ to $SnO_2$ increased the response ($R_a/R_g,\;R_a$: resistance in air, $R_g$: resistance in gas) to $H_2$ substantially. Moreover, the $R_a/R_g$ value of 10 ppm CO increased to 5.65, whereas that of $NO_2$ did not change by a significant amount. The enhanced response to $H_2$ and the selective detection of CO in the presence of $NO_2$ were explained in relation to the change in the surface reaction by the addition of $WO_3$. The $WO_3$-doped $SnO_2$ sensor can be used with the application of a $H_2$ sensor for vehicles that utilize fuel cells and as an air quality sensor to detect CO-containing exhaust gases emitted from gasoline engines.
The amount of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) released while producing building materials is substantial and has been targeted as a leading contributor to global climate change. One of the most typical methods of reducing $CO_2$ in building materials is the addition of slag and fly ash, like pozzolan material another method is to reduce $CO_2$ production by developing carbon negative cement. MgO-based cement from the low-temperature calcination of magnesite required less energy and emitted less $CO_2$ than the manufacturing of Portland cements. It is also believed that adding reactive MgO to Portland-pozzolan cements can improve their performance and also increase their capacity to absorb atmospheric $CO_2$. In this study, basic research on magnesia cement using $MgCO_3$ and magnesium silicate ore (serpentine) as the main starting materials, as well as blast furnace slag for the mineral admixture, was carried out for industrial waste material recycling. In order to increase the overall hydration activity, $MgCl_2$ was also added. In the case of the addition of $MgCl_2$as accelerating admixture, there was a promoting effect on the compressive strength. This was found to be due to the production of needle-like dense Mg-Cl hydrates. Mgnesia cement has a high viscosity due to its high specific surface area therefore, when the PC-based dispersing agent was added at a level of more than 1.0%, it had the effect of improving fluidity. In particular, the addition of $MgCl_2$ in magnesia cement using $MgCO_3$and magnesium silicate ore (serpentine) as main starting materials led to a lower expansion ratio and an increase in the freeze-thaw resistance finally, the addition of $MgCl_2$ as accelerating admixture led to good overall durability.

After Kyoto Protocol was adopted for green gas reduction, each nations are stepping up efforts to reduce $CO_2$ of a typical green gas. Construction industry also is trying $CO_2$ reduction with the techniques of two types which are software and hardware techniques. The software technique are Passive Design considered green gas emission and the environment impact assessment by LCA. The hardware techniques are adjustment of equipment system and development of eco- friendly material. But, it is nonexistent that a study related to $CO_2$ emission considered detail process in construction industry. This study analyzed the correlation of equipment combination, $CO_2$ emission and duration by calculate $CO_2$ emission follow to equipment combination on earth-work which is the process emitted most $CO_2$ among railway bedding construction.

Depending on the industrialization, construction market has grown buildings are based on concrete will continue to increase. But the problems of environmental pollution come to the fore with the indiscriminate use of concrete and rapid development. In addition, carbon dioxide(CO2) in the process of producing cement being emitted a large amount of has been caused a serious problem of environmental pollution. This trend is being actively conducted research to reduce the use of cement. In this study, eco-friendly materials, such as flats, Blast-furnace slag by mix and cement review the mechanical characteristics of the mudflats eco-friendly cement mortar to reduce the usability of the review were seen as a green building material.
