ON THE MODULAR FUNCTION $j_4$ OF LEVEL 4

  • Since the modular curves X(N) = $\Gamma$(N)\(equation omitted)* (N =1,2,3) have genus 0, we have field isomorphisms K(X(l))(equation omitted)C(J), K(X(2))(equation omitted)(λ) and K(X(3))(equation omitted)( $j_3$) where J, λ are the classical modular functions of level 1 and 2, and $j_3$ can be represented as the quotient of reduced Eisenstein series. When N = 4, we see from the genus formula that the curve X(4) is of genus 0 too. Thus the field K(X(4)) is a rational function field over C. We find such a field generator $j_4$(z) = x(z)/y(z) (x(z) = $\theta$$_3$((equation omitted)), y(z) = $\theta$$_4$((equation omitted)) Jacobi theta functions). We also investigate the structures of the spaces $M_{k}$($\Gamma$(4)), $S_{k}$($\Gamma$(4)), M(equation omitted)((equation omitted)(4)) and S(equation omitted)((equation omitted)(4)) in terms of x(z) and y(z). As its application, we apply the above results to quadratic forms.rms.

  • Recently, efforts of decreasing energy consumption are continously increased and user's preference is also diversified in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Thus, in order to satisfy these demands, high efficiency, high intelligence, and energy saving for those systems are essential. As the basic study for diverse functions and intelligence of those systems, we investigated the response characteristics through the compressor capacity control concerned with superheat and refrigeration room temperature. And, response characteristics are investigated experimentally by using micro computer based PWM inverter control method. Experimental result of the conventional on-off control method is given in order to be compared to the results of inverter control method. The results obtained through this study are summarized as follows. It is shown from the experimental results of the on-off control method that the range of temperature variation around the steady state ($-18^{\circ}C$) is very large (about $7{\sim}8^{\circ}C$) and the settling time bringing the steady state is not found. In the inverter control method, we can see that the refrigeration room temperature after reaching the setting temperature is very stable without fluctuation and a robust control for disturbance such as opening the door has been realized.

醋酸纖維素의 醋化溫度가 分子量分配曲線에 미치는 影響 (Study on the Molecular Weight Distribution Curve of Cellulose Triacetate Acetylated Under Various Temperatures)

  • Fibrous cellulose triacetate prepared from purified cotton under various temperatures was dissolved in the solution of 70%, monochloroacetic acid and it was fractionated using water as a precipitant. Eight fractions were obtained through the stepwise precipitation. Degree of polymerization and molecular weight of each fraction were measured viscometrically. Integral and differential molecular weight distribution curve were drawn for each sample prepared under various temperatures and were carefully observed. On this experimental study, following conclusions were obtained: Fractional precipitation can be carried out for fibrous cellulose triacetate in the solution of 70% monochloroacetic acid using water as a precipitant. The differences on the shapes of molecular weight distribution curve were occured on account of the various acetylation temperatures. At the relatively higher acetylation temperatures, the cellulose was randomly degraded and the portion of low degree of polymerization was increased. Commercial acetate, therefore, may not be prepared at above 40$^{\circ}C$ according to the molecular weight distribution curve regardless of higher viscosity and average degree of polymerization. It was concluded that the optimum acetylation temperature for commercial acetate was approximately 30$^{\circ}C$.

LNG 저장탱크용 멤브레인재(STS 304강)의 강도 및 파괴인성에 미치는 저온효과 (Low Temperature Effects on the Strength and Fracture Toughness of Membrane for LNG Storage Tank)

  • Tensile and fracture toughness tests of the cold-rolled STS 304 steel plate for membrane material of LNG storage tank were performed at wide range of temperatures, 11 IK(boiling point of LNG), 153K , 193K and 293K(room temperature). Tensile strength significantly increases with a decrease in temperature, but the yield strength is relatively insensitive to temperature. Elongation at 193K abruptly decreases by 50% of that at 293K, and then decreases slightly in the temperature range of 193K to 111K. Strain hardening exponents at low temperatures are about four times as high as that at 293K. Elastic-plastic fracture toughness($J_c$) and tearing modulus($T_{mat}$) tend to decrease with a decrease in temperature. The $J_c$ values are inversely related to effective yield strength in the temperature range of 111K to 293K. These phenomena result from a significant increase in the amount of transformed martensite in low temperature regions.

Development of Cleavage Fracture Toughness Locus Considering Constraint Effects

  • In this paper, the higher order terms in the crack tip stress fields are investigated macroscopically for more realistic assessment of structural material behaviors. For reactor pressure vessel material of A533B ferritic steel, effects of crack size and temperature have been evaluated using 3-point SENB specimens through a series of finite element analyses, tensile tests and fracture toughness tests. The T-stress, Q-parameter and q-parameter as well as the K and J-integral are calculated and mutual relationships are investigated also. Based on the evaluation, it has proven that the effect of crack size from standard length (a/W=0.53) to shallow length (a/W=0.11) is remarkable whilst the effect of temperature from -20$^{\circ}C$ to -60$^{\circ}C$ is negligible. Finally, the cleavage fracture toughness loci as a function of the promising Q-parameter or q-parameter are developed using specific test results as well as finite element analysis results, which can be applicable for structural integrity evaluation considering constraint effects.

  • In this paper, we establish a number system in $R^n$ which arises from a Haar wavelet basis in connection with decompositions of certain Cuntz algebra representations on $L^2$( $R^n$). Number systems in $R^n$ are also of independent interest [9]. We study radix-representations of $\chi$ $\in$ $R^n$: $\chi$:$\alpha$$_{ι}$ $\alpha$$_{ι-1}$$\alpha$$_1$$\alpha$$_{0}$$\alpha$$_{-1}$ $\alpha$$_{-2}$ … as $\chi$= $M^{ι}$$\alpha$$_{ι}$ $\alpha$+…M$\alpha$$_1$$\alpha$$_{0}$$M^{-1}$ $\alpha$$_{-1}$$M^{-2}$ $\alpha$$_{-2}$ +… where each $\alpha$$_{k}$ $\in$ D, and D is some specified digit set. Our analysis uses iteration techniques of a number-theoretic flavor. The view-point is a dual one which we term fractals in the large vs. fractals in the small,illustrating the number theory of integral lattice points vs. fractions.s vs. fractions.

정적 RAM 특성 요소에 의한 소프트 에러율의 해석 (Analysis of Accelerated Soft Error Rate for Characteristic Parameters on Static RAM)

  • This paper presents an ASER (Accelerated Soft Error Rate) integral model. The model is based on the facts that the generated EHP/s(electron hole pairs) are diminished after some residual range of the incident alpha particle, where residual range is a function of the incident angle and the capping layer thickness over the semiconductor junction. The ASER is influenced by the flux of the alpha particles, the junction area ratio, the alpha particle incident angle when the critical charge is same as the collected charge, and the sizes of the alpha source and the chip. The model was examined with 8M static RAM samples. The measured ASER data showed good agreement with the calculated values using the model. The ASER decreased exponentially with respect to the operational voltage. As the capping layer thickness increases up to $16{\mu}m$, the ASER increases, and after that thickness, the ASER decreases. The ASER increased as the depth of BNW increased from $0{\mu}m\;to\;4{\mu}m$. and then saturated. The ASER decreased as the node capacitance increased from 2fF to 5fF.

유한수심에서의 조파저항계산에 관하여 (A Computational Method of Wave Resistance of Ships in Water of Finite Depth)

  • 유한수심에 대한 Michell적분의 계산을 위해 선각함수를 종방향 및 수직방향에 대해 Legendre다항식으로 전개하여 조파저항계수를 형상계수와 유체동력학적계수의 곱에 대한 4중급수로 구할 수 있는 식을 얻었다. 여기서 형상계수는 선각의 기하학적 형상만의 함수이고, 유체동력학적계수는 수심에 근거한 Fn와 수심과 홀수의 배의 길이에 대한 비들만의 함수이다. Wigley의 포물선형 선각과 Series 60의 $C_B$ 0.6에 대한 계산을 수행하고 그 결과를 기존의 실험결과(무한수심) 및 다른 이론결과(유한수심)와 비교하였다.

Nuclear Design Feasibility of the Soluble Boron Free PWR Core

  • A nuclear design feasibility of soluble boron free(SBF core for the medium-sized(600MWe) PWR was investigated. The result conformed that soluble boron free operation could be performed by using current PWR proven technologies. Westinghouse advanced reactor, AP-600 was chosen as a design prototype. Design modification was applied for the assembly design with burnable poison and control rod absorber material. In order to control excess reactivity, large amount of gadolinia integral burnable poison rods were used and B4C was used as a control rod absorber material. For control of bottom shift axial power shape due to high temperature feedback in SBF core, axial zoning of burnable poison was applied to the fuel assemblies design. The combination of enrichment and rod number zoning for burnable poison could make an excess reactivity swing flat within around 1% and these also led effective control on axial power offset and peak pin power, The safety assessment of the designed core was peformed by the calculation of MTC, FTC and shutdown margin. MTC in designed SBF core was greater around 6 times than one of Ulchin unit 3&4. Utilization of enriched BIO(up to 50w1o) in B4C shutdown control rods provided enough shutdown margin as well as subcriticality at cold refueling condition.

  • The Composite waterproofing began to rise gradually 2000s in domestic. However, the sheet-membrane composite waterproofing method also acts as an abutment vulnerability that was a problem in a single method, and had the problem of damage to the formation of leakage paths. The existing non-overlap method, through vigorous research abutting sheet shall or could be developed to improve the seal performance of this method with the I-type joint coating material. Nevertheless, it has an integral top coat paint membrane and a sheet abutment limitation, damage to the upper membrane is damaged junction coating membranes has been generated. In this study, a method that has a layer of insulation on the joint bond breaker concept development, and to determine the physical properties with insulated joints to determine the breaking off of the upper joint is damaged coating membrane and tensile performance.
