It is known that as many as 15-20 in 10,000 children are diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder. A framework of the treatment system for children with autism using affective computing technologies was proposed by Chung and Yoon. In this paper, a prototype for the framework is proposed. It consists of emotion stimulating module, multi-modal bio-signal sensing module, treatment module using virtual reality, and emotion recognition module. Primitive experiments on emotion recognition show the usefulness of the proposed system.

This paper reports the design and fabrication of a micro-electro-mechanical-system(MEMS)-based electrostatic angular microactuator for a dual-stage servo. The proposed actuator employs a novel electrode pattern named "skewed electrode array(SEA)" scheme. It is shown that SEA has better linearity than a parallel plate type actuator and stronger force than a comb-drive based actuator. The moving and the fixed electrodes are arranged to make the driving force perpendicular to the rotating moment of arm. By changing the electrode overlap length, the magnitude of electrostatic force and stable displacement will be changed. In order to optimize the design, an electrostatic FE analysis was carried out and an empirical force model was established for SEA. A new assembly method which will allow the active electrodes to be located beneath the slider was developed. The active electrodes are connected by inner and outer rings lifted on the base substrate, and the inner and outer rings are connected to platform on which the slider locates. Electrostatic force between active electrodes and platform can be used for exiting out of plane modes, so this provides the possibility of the flying height control. A microactuator that can position the pico-slider over ${\pm}0.5{\mu}m$ using under 20 volts for a 2 kHz fine-tracking servo was designed and fabricated using SoG process.

Simulation was performed to make the comparison between conventional actuators and SEA. The proposed SEA generates actuating torque 2 times greater than a comb-drive and stable actuator displacement 40% greater than a parallel plate type actuator. The angular electrostatic microactuator using skewed SEA scheme was designed and fabricated using SoG process.

Void fraction has been measured for the gas-liquid cocurrent slug flow in 8mm vertical acrylic tube using an optical method. Bubble speed, length and period could be measured with the two sets of laser-infrared sensor modules mounted 25mm apart alongside the tube, which were designed to detect variation of light intensities with a time delay when two parallel laser beams were refracted successively by a passing bubble. It was found that the results were in good agreement with the previous studies in the literature suggesting that the method used in this study were sound and accurate.

In this paper, we will introduce the overview of new project dealing how to increase of refrigeration cycle COP using nano-fluids, CuO, TiO2, Al2O3, that are used on similar previous studies. Recently many studies were performed to show the effect of nano-fluids at refrigeration cycle. But, the reason was not cleared yet. In general, the flow phenomena at the evaporator were guessed to be mixed with the partial pool boiling condition and the flow boiling condition from the previous results not published yet. So, we hope that the COP increase of refrigeration cycle will be verified and showed through this project.

Ionic liquids based on formate and hydrogen carbonate anions were synthesized for use as solvents for the effective dissolution of cellulose and the regenerated cellulose was in the native lattice.

The purpose of this research is to improve nitrogen removal efficiency in winter season through rise of water temperature of extraneous water by using solar energy which is estimated to have great potential among new regeneration energy and while operating Plug-Flow Reactor to improve nitrogen removal efficiency by selecting A/O process among sewage waste water treatment processes as the necessity of solving the problem of nitrogen removal efficiency according to reduced water temperature in winter season and strengthening of water quality criteria regarding discharged sewage waste water suggested in the research background. Summarizing the research result, supply of solar energy source improves the function outstandingly when removing nitrogen, (nitrogen removal rate before operating solar energy 55.4% ${\rightarrow}$ nitrogen removal rate after operating solar energy 84.1%).
