Implementation of the outdoor location tracking system by using Zigbee (Zigbee를 이용한 실외 위치추정 시스템 구현)

  • Location tracking system represents position by searching objects and humans. In this paper I would like to write about RF chip support Zigbee which is called CC2420. In simulated network circumstance, we can get the information about mobile-node by sending it to sink-node. Position finding is in error by 3m at outdoor environment. The error scale is acceptable within easy range of naked eyes. It can be overcome by using GPS information and Google maps with the wireless networking background.

  • A wireless optical fiber interferometer arterial pulse wave sensor system is developed for remote sensing. The wireless optical fiber sensor system consists of Zigbee communication modules and an optical fiber interferometer arterial pulse wave sensor. The optical fiber arterial pulse wave sensor is an in-line Michelson interferometer enclosed with steel reinforcement in a heat-shrinkable tube. The Zigbee communication modules are composed of an ATmega128L microprocessor and a CC2420 Zigbee chip. The arterial pulse waves detected by the optical fiber sensor were transmitted and received via the Zigbee communication modules. The experimental results show that the wireless optical fiber sensor system can be used for monitoring the arterial pulse waves remotely.

  • Zigbee기반 자전거 동호회 주행관리 시스템은 동호회 회원들 사이에서 자신의 위치 파악과 활동 중 생기는 낙오자(체력이 떨어져 뒤처지는 회원 등)들을 관리하여 동호회를 보다 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 시스템이다. 저전력 소모와 소형의 크기, 실시간 네트워크기능을 가진 Zigbee의 기능을 이용하여, 각각의 Zigbee가 서로의 네트워크 신호를 감지한 후, 다른 회원들이 있는지를 디스플레이에 표시한다.

  • Today, digital technology can be possible U-city, U-healthcare because network and wireless communication have developed very rapidly and widely. In this paper we implemented embedded server and Zigbee sensor boards. For the development, Implemented home server platform has a Intel PXA255 processor, web server, USB camera and TFT LCD. The other hand, Zigbee sensor boards are attached the AVR microprocessor and the several sensors to get the environment variables.

  • According to a diversification of surveillance camera function, they have got to control the surveillance camera utilizing the controller or personal computer. The Method of solution is wired communications and wireless communications. But wired communications are a weak point because that need to use another cable and in case of communication system utilizing the Bluetooth universalized, there is the difficulty in the utility because electricity consumption is big. But the wireless communication utilizing the zigbee protocol is that electiricity consumption is more small than Bluetooth and reliability of data transmission is better. Therefore I designed system for control of surveillance camera with Zigbee protocol.

  • As ship-based tourism increases, safe sailing and management are necessary to prevent maritime accidents. Because external rescue support cannot arrive rapidly in the case of ship-related accidents, the initial response is very important for damage minimization. Further, for secondary damage prevention, it is necessary to accurately determine passenger positions. In this paper, considering the characteristics of a ship, the enhanced-Zigbee(e-Zigbee) position determination technology (PDT) is applied, which improved upon the Zigbee PDT by having advantages such as low power consumption and smaller size. According to user needs, a low-cost and high-precision passenger positioning tag and access point(AP) is provided. A ship testbed that yields improved positioning accuracy based on a performance evaluation is constructed.

Remote Temperature Control System using a Zigbee Communication (지그비 통신을 이용한 원격 온도제어 시스템)

  • In this paper, a remote control system capable of monitoring and controlling the temperature of a refrigerator in real time using the ZigBee communication technology is developed. The developed system provides 24-hour surveillance function including temperature maintenance and it is able to determine monitored data from a remote location and to change the setting of the temperature value. In case the value is out of the setting, it is designed for administrators to verify the problem and take action, sending alarms to management server and the emergency to a preset administrator via SMS. Applying this system to refrigerators storing commercial, medical, and experimental material, the real time status such as temperature and malfunction of refrigerator can be managed up to 16 SZM(Slave Zigbee Module) by only one MZM(Master Zigbee Module).

  • Recent advances in wireless communication, electronics, MEMS device, sensor and battery technology have made it possible to manufacture low-cost, low-power, multi-function tiny sensor nodes. A large number of tiny sensor nodes form sensor network through wireless communication. Sensor networks represent a significant improvement over traditional sensors, research on Zigbee wireless image transmission has been a topic in industrial and scientific fields. In this paper, we design a Zigbee wireless image sensor node and multimedia monitoring server system. It consists of embedded processor, memory, CMOS image sensor, image acquisition and processing unit, Zigbee RF module, power supply unit and remote monitoring server system. In the future, we will further improve our Zigbee wireless image sensor node and monitoring server system. Besides, energy-efficient Zigbee wireless image transmission protocol and interworking with mobile network will be our work focus.

  • Recently, as the interest in power saving increases with the development of IoT technology, research on power saving of smart devices, which are being miniaturized, is being actively conducted. In particular, due to the diversification of IoT-based smart devices and the increase in personal penetration rate, the issue of standby power even when not in use is increasing. However, there is a drawback of physically unplugging the outlet or turning off the power in order to substantially reduce standby power. Since Zigbee is used instead of the existing IP, it is necessary to change to the IoT standard protocol based on the Internet network. Therefore, this paper designed and implemented the standby power saving system applying CoAP, the IoT standard protocol, to the existing Zigbee technology. Existing systems and evaluations confirmed that the average standby power of about 8.4Wh was reduced.

  • Zigbee is a wireless communication technology optimized for WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) environment. A WSN gateway is used for node control and data transmission. However, a fixed-type gateway can restrict the flexibility of the WSN environment. A smartphone-mounted high-performance processor and Android OS can be easily used in a mobile WSN gateway. In this paper, we proposed a mobile WSN gateway based on Android smartphones. In the proposed system, a Zigbee sensor module is connected with a smartphone via USB (Universal Serial Bus) port. We also implemented an Android application for the mobile WSN gateway.
