This paper presents a Zero-Current Switching(ZCS) two-transformer phase-shift full-bridge(TTFB) converter using voltage ripple. The proposed converter provides Zero-Voltage Switching(2VS) of leading leg switches and ZCS of lagging leg switches using volt-age ripple. Especially, circulating current Is reduced by ZCS operation and there are no additional components required for the soft switching of power switches. Furthermore, in case of light load, ZVS operation of lagging leg can be achieved. The operations, analysis and design consideration of proposed converter are presented. To verify the validity of the proposed converter, experimental results for a flow (205V, 2A) prototype are presented.
The full bridge converter have been used for high power system that is needed to switch the big current. So, EMI and stability problem is occurred. The Soft switching method is the solution to solve the above problem, But implementation of soft switching(ZVS: Zero Voltage Switching) is so complicate and expensive because of the DSP MCU and shift circuit. In this paper, we introduce the technical method for driving circuit of ZVS full bridge converter with 1st order delay circuit and logic elements. The realization of this method is so simple and cheap. The effectiveness of the proposed circuit is verified by experimental results.
This paper presents a high-frequency ZVS-PWM boost chopper-fed DC-DC converter with a single active auxiliary edge resonant snubber in the load-side which can be designed for power conditioners such as solar photovoltaic generation, fuel cell generation, battery and super capacitor energy storages. Its principle operation in steady-state is described in addition to a prototype setup. The experimental results of ZVS-PWM boost chopper-fed DC-DC converter proposed here, are evaluated and verified with a practical design model in terms of its switching voltage and current waveforms, the switching v-i trajectory, the temperature performance of IGBT module, the actual power conversion efficiency and the EMI of radiated and conducted emissions. And then discussed and compared with the hard switching scheme from an experimental point of view. Finally, this paper proposes a practical method to suppress parasitic oscillation due to the active auxiliary resonant switch at ZCS turn off mode transition with the aid of an additional lossless clamping diode loop, and reduced the EMI conducted emission in this paper.
In this paper, soft switching high power factor buck converter is proposed. This converter is composed of diode rectifier, a input capacitor can be small enough to filter input capacitor can be small enough to filter input current, buck converter with loss less snubber circuit. Converter is operated in discontinous conduction mode, turn of of the switching device is a zero current switching(ZCS) and high power factor input is obtained. In addition, zero voltage switching(ZVS) at turn of is achieved and switching loss is reduced using loss less snubber circuit. The capacitor used in the snubber circuit raised output voltage. Therefore, proposed converter has higher output voltage and higher efficiency than conventional buck type converter at same duty factor in discontious conduction mode operation.

A novel zero-voltage-transition (ZVT) isolated PWM boost converter for single stage power factor correction (PFC) is presented to improve the performance of the previously presented ZVT converter[8]. A simple auxiliary circuit which includes only one active switch provides zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) condition to all semiconductor devices. (Two active switches are required for the previous ZVT converter) This leads to reduced cost and simplified control circuit comparing to the previous ZVT converter. The ZVS is achieved for wide line and load ranges with minimum device voltage and current stresses. Operation principle, control strategy and features of the proposed converter are presented and verified by the experimental results from a 1.5 kW, 100 KHz laboratory prototype.
To solve the low efficiency problem of low-voltage power supplies, it has been studied to replace the schottky barrier diode with the MOSFET synchronous rectifier. In this paper, Phase Shift-Controlled Clamp Mode Zero Voltage Switching-Multi Resonant Converter with Synchronous Rectifier (PSC CM ZVS-MRC with SR) is presented to achieve high efficiency in low-voltage power supplies. The characteristics analysis of synchronous rectifier is established by using the MOSFET equivalent circuit and efficiency comparison is established between the Synchronous Rectifier and the schottky barrier diode. To verify the validity of the analysis, 33W(3.3V, 10A) PSC CM ZVS-MRC with self-driven synchronous rectifier at switching frequency of 1MHz is designed and tested. And it is confirmed that the experimental results are well consistent with the theoretical results. The maximum efficiency of the converter is 83.4% at full load, which is 3.3% higher than conventional schottky diode rectification.
Driving the electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the high ac voltage with high frequency is required. The linear power amplifier has been widely used as a driving circuit of electrodeless fluorescent lamp. However, the low efficiency of the power amplifier causes the driving circuit to be replaced by a PWM switching inverter. In order to use a PWM switching inverter as the driving circuit of an electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the high switching frequency is required. But due to the switching loss at switches of the inverter, the limitation of high switching frequency appears in the inverter. One solution to this limitation is to reduce the switching loss by using the zero voltage switching technique. In this paper, zero voltage switching resonant inverter for driving an electrodeless fluorescent lamp is discussed. The results of analysis about the inverter are presented and the equations for design are established. And the validity of the analyzed results are verified through the experiment.
This paper presents a novel soft-switching PWM utility frequency AC to high frequency AC power conversion circuit incorporating boost H-bridge inverter topology, which is more suitable and acceptable for cost effective consumer induction heating applications. The operating principle and the operation modes are presented using the switch mode equivalent circuits and the operating voltage and current waveforms. The performances of this high-frequency inverter using the latest IGBTs are illustrated, which includes high frequency power regulation and actual efficiency characteristics based on zero voltage soft-switching(ZVS) operation ranges, and the power dissipation as compared with those of the conventional type high frequency inverter. In addition, a dual mode control scheme of this high frequency inverter based on asymmetrical pulse width modulation(PWM) and pulse density modulation(PDM) control scheme is discussed in this paper in order to extend the soft switching operation ranges and to improve the power conversion efficiency at the low power settings. The power converter practical effectiveness is substantially proved based on experimental results from practical design example.
