  • This paper presents a simple high efficiency full-bridge DC-DC converter using a series resonant capacitor. The proposed converter achieves the zero voltage switching of the primary switches under a wide range of load conditions and reduces the high circulating current in the freewheeling mode using the leakage resonant inductance and the series resonant capacitor. Thus, the proposed converter overcomes the drawbacks of the conventional full-bridge DC-DC converter and improves its overall system efficiency. Its structure is simplified by using the leakage inductance of the transformer as the resonant inductance and omitting the DC output filter inductance. Also it can operate over a wide range of input voltages. In this paper, the operational principle, analysis and design example are described in detail. Finally, the experimental results from a 650W (24V/27A) prototype are demonstrated to confirm the operation, validity and features of the proposed converter.

  • This paper proposes a parameter design method for multi-element resonant converters (MERCs) with a unique resonant zero point (RZP). This method is mainly composed of four steps. These steps include program filtration, loss comparison, 3D figure fine-tuning and priority compromise. It features easy implementation, effectiveness and universal applicability for almost all of the existing RZP-MERCs. Meanwhile, other design methods are always exclusive for a specific topology. In addition, a novel dual-CTL converter is also proposed here. It belongs to the RZP-MERC family and is designed in detail to explain the process of parameter selection. The performance of the proposed method is verified experimentally on a 500W prototype. The obtained results indicate that with the selected parameters, an extensive dc voltage gain is obtained. It also possesses over-current protection and minimal switching loss. The designed converter achieves high efficiencies among wide load ranges, and the peak efficiency reaches 96.9%.

  • In this paper, a LC series resonant boost converter using a single switch is proposed. The proposed topology contains additional passive elements in the conventional boost converter and performs Zero Voltage Switching(ZVS) without an additional auxiliary switch when a main switch turned on and off. The switch off time of the proposed system determined by LC series resonance, thus a on-time variable Pulse Frequency Modulation(PFM) method is adapted to control output voltage in the proposed converter. Operational modes of the proposed topology are divided with respected to the current conduction paths and then through the theoretical analysis and experimental results, operational modes and characteristics of the proposed converter are verified.

  • A new soft switching technique that improves performance of the high power factor boost rectifier by reducing switching losses is introduced. The losses are reduced by air active snubber which consists of an inductor, a capacitor a rectifier, and an auxiliary switch. Since the boost switch turns off with zero current, this technique is well suited for implementations with insulated gate bipolar transistors. The reverse recovery related losses of the rectifier are also reduced by the snubber inductor which is connected in series with the boost switch and the boost rectifier. In addition, the auxiliary switch operates with zero voltage switching. A complete design procedure and extensive performance evaluation of the proposed active snubber using a 1.2[kW] high power factor boost rectifier operating from a 90 [$V_{rms}$] input are also presented.

  • Zero Voltage Switched (ZVS) Pulse Width Modulation (P~마1) converter which operates a fixed frequency is proposed in this paper. The main switches of the converter are always switched at zero voltage, and the auxiliaη switches are s softly switched, The voltage and current stresses of the switches are minimized as low as in conventional PWM converters, The suggested buck typed converter is analyzed. designed for a battery charger. The designed characteristics are experimentally verified by the results of the buck type converter.

  • This paper proposes a novel Auxiliary Resonant Commutated Pole Inverter (ARCPI) topology. The conventional ARCPIs make the hard switching at turn-off likewise the conventional PWM inverters. Therefore, turn-off switching losses may be so serious and can be so much considerable in high power level. The proposed ARCPI can solve this problem with high frequency transformers, switches, and capacitors. All the switches in the expanded auxiliary circuit achieves the soft switching and operates only during the commutating intervals. The characteristics and the analysis for each operation mode are described in detail and the validity is verified by the simulations and the experimental results.

  • A novel high frequency insulated soft switching PWM DC-DC converter circuit is proposed and then it is achieved the high-efficiency. This converter does not use the o(citing current of a high frequency transformer but use inductance. Then it realizes a widely stable zero voltage switching operation with the use of a novel ON-OFF control method at synchronized rectification power MOSEFETs of the high frequency insulated transformer secondary. Therefore, it is brought over 97[%] measurement efficiency by proposed DC-DC converter.

  • This paper presents the two lossless auxiliary inductors-assisted voltage source type half bridge (single ended push pull: SEPP) series resonant high frequency inverter for induction heated fixing roller in copy and printing machines. The simple high-frequency inverter treated here can completely achieve stable zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation for wide its output power regulation ranges and load variations under its constant high frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme. Its transient and steady state operating principle is originally described and discussed for a constant high-frequency PDM control strategy under a stable ZCS operation commutation, together with its output effective power regulation characteristics-based on the high frequency PDM strategy. The experimental operating performances of this voltage source SEPP ZCS-PDM series resonant high frequency inverter using IGBTs are illustrated as compared with computer simulation results and experimental ones. Its power losses analysis and actual efficiency are evaluated and discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results. The feasible effectiveness of this high frequency inverter appliance implemented here is proved from the practical point of view.
