  • The effect of braid construction parameters on yarn cross-sectional shape is presented in this paper. The location of the yam within the braid unit cell is quantified by a compaction factor. A range of braided fabrics were produced and optically measured for actual yarn cross-sectional shape. A comparison of the theoretical and experimental values shows good correlation. Design curves can be produced with the developed model to allow selection of appropriate braid process parameter to create yarns with desired cross-sectional geometries.

  • Characteristics of air-jet textured yarns are determined by linear density, strength, and instability together with structural properties. Such characteristics are affected by various processing parameters and supply yam properties. In this Paper, specially, we have studied on the effect of air jet texturing conditions not only on texturing characteristics but also on splitting behavior using split-type ultrafine P/N filaments and their draw textured yarns as raw materials. • This research studies the factors which influence the tensile strength of tire cords. Five yam samples are made by changing the spinning conditions and viscosity to get various physical properties. Different twisting methods are introduced and the yams are twisted under different processing conditions for each twisting process. With the experimental results, various analyses are performed to find the important factors in retaining strength after the twisting process. SEM and optical microscopic photographs are taken along with some measurements to assist the analysis.

  • This paper proposes, for the first time, the design of class I pull-push power amplifier. With the new design, the output power is increased by four times when compared to conventional single-end class I connection amplifier with the same supply voltage. The performance of the proposed amplifier is verified by with a 100-kHz power amplifier constructed using general-purpose NPN transistors.
