태블릿 기기와 전자칠판 시스템 간의 연동 기술 연구 (A Study on the Interconnection Technology between Tablet Device and Interactive White Board System)

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트 교육 관련 기술 개발의 일환으로 태블릿 기기와 전자칠판 시스템간의 연동 기술에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위해 우선적으로 태블릿 기기와 전자칠판 시스템 상에서 강의 자료 관리, 페이지 전환 및 기본적인 판서가 가능한 판서 소프트웨어를 구현하였다. 그리고 이들 판서 소프트웨어들 간에 제어 정보 및 판서 정보를 주고받기 위한 데이터 포맷을 정의한 다음 소켓 프로그래밍을 통해 두 디바이스 간에 실시간 양방향으로 연동하는 기능을 구현하였다. 그 결과로 태블릿 기기 상에서의 페이지 전환 이벤트나 판서 정보는 전자칠판 시스템에 실시간으로 전달되어 대형 스크린에 디스플레이 되고, 반대로 전자칠판에서의 이벤트나 판서 정보는 태블릿 기기에 실시간 표출이 된다. 태블릿 기기와 전자칠판 시스템간의 양방향 연동 기능의 성능을 응답 오류율, 지연시간 및 통신 커버리지 측면에서 자체 평가를 실시하고, 필드테스트를 통해 실제 교육 환경에 적용 가능한 우수한 성능임을 입증하였다.

Realization of full magnetoelectric control at room temperature

  • The control of magnetization by an electric field at room temperature remains as one of great challenges in materials science. Multiferroics, in which magnetism and ferroelectricity coexist and couple to each other, could be the most plausible candidate to realize this long-sought capability. While recent intensive research on the multiferroics has made significant progress in sensitive, magnetic control of electric polarization, the electrical control of magnetization, the converse effect, has been observed only in a limited range far below room temperature. Here we demonstrate at room temperature the control of both electric polarization by a magnetic field and magnetization by an electric field in a multiferroic hexaferrite. The electric polarization rapidly increases in a magnetic field as low as 5 mT and the magnetoelectric susceptibility reaches up to 3200 ps/m, the highest value in single phase materials. The magnetization is also modulated up to 0.34 mB per formula unit in an electric field of 1.14 MV/m. Furthermore, this compound allows nonvolatile, magnetoelectric reading- and writing-operations entirely at room temperature. Four different magnetic/electric field writing conditions generate repeatable, distinct M versus E curves without dissipation, offering an unprecedented opportunity for a multi-bit memory or a spintronic device applications.

중학교 기술 가정.교과서의 의복구성 분야 내용 분석 (The Content Analysis of Clothing Construction field in the middle-school Textbook of Technology and Home Economics)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse the structure and contents of clothing construction field in the middle-school textbook of technology and home economics with curriculum revised in 2007. 10 kinds of textbooks certified by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2010 were selected and home economics field in them was the subject of this study with the external characteristics such as textbook system, instruction area and contents included. This study was content analysis-oriented and descriptive with data calculated by frequency and percentage. The findings are as follows. In 'Reality of Home-Life', food life area showed highest as 34.4% followed by clothing life(28.7%) and dwelling life(28.7%). The portion of present teachers in writing staffs was highest while there was no textbook where professors of each field were included in writing staffs. The contents of costume society, clothes material, clothes management from section 'Choice and Management of Clothes' in the chapter 'Family Life' and clothing construction from the section 'Making and Modifying Clothes' of the chapter 'Reality of Home-Life' were analysed in this study. Clothing construction-related fields were suggested separately by method of measurement, construction theory, drafting theory, drafting an original form, fabric trimming, utilization of the original form, length measure, cloth cutting, hand stitching, how to use a sewing machine, basting and correction, needlework process, completion, and evaluation. The contents of the unit 'Making Shorts' were about clothing construction theory, human body measurement, drafting an original form, process of making shorts and activity/research/experience. The contents of the unit 'Wearing Clothes after Fixing' in clothing construction-related field were about how to fix and recycling.

A Sub-field Rearrangement Driving Method for Reducing Dynamic False Contour in Plasma Display Panels

  • A sub-field rearrangement driving method has been proposed to reduce a DFC (Dynamic False Contour) phenomenon in plasma display panels. The proposed driving method expresses 256 gray levels with 16 sub-fields, while conventional one uses only 8 sub-fields. Notwithstanding the increase in the number of sub-fields, the display time is similar to the conventional 8 sub-fields driving method by appropriate choosing selective writing and selective erasing for sub-fields.

  • On the basis of studies that show multi-word combinations, that is the field of phraseology, this study aims to examine relationship between the quality of text and phraseological competence in L2 English writing, following Yves Bestegen et al. (2014). Using two different association scores, t-score and Mutual Information(MI), which are opposite ways of measuring phraseological competence, in terms of scoring frequency and infrequency, bigrams from L2 writers' text scored based on a reference corpus, GloWbE (Corpus of Global Web based English). On a cross-sectional approach, we propose that the quality of the essays and the mean MI score of the bigram extracted from YELC, Yonsei English Learner Corpus, correlated to each other. The negative scores of bigrams are also correlated with the quality of the essays in the way that these bigrams are absent from the reference corpus, that is mostly ungrammatical. It indicates that increase in the proportion of the negative scored bigrams debases the quality of essays. The conclusion shows the quality of the essays scored by MI and t-score on cross-sectional approach, and application to teaching method and assessment for second language writing proficiency.

In My Opinion: Modality in Japanese EFL Learners' Argumentative Essays

  • This study seeks to add to the current understanding of learners' use of modality in argumentative writing. A learner corpus of argumentative essays on four topics was created and compared to native English speaker data from the International Corpus Network of Asian Learners of English (ICNALE). The relationship between learners' use of modal devices (MDs) and the devices' appearance in the school's curriculum was also examined. The results showed that learners relied on a very narrow range of MDs compared to those in previous studies. The frequency of use of MDs varied based on the topic and did not seem to be driven by cultural factors as has been previously suggested. Learners used more hedges than boosters on all topics, contradicting most previous studies. Curriculum was determined to have a direct correlation with MD use, and other important factors may include perception of topic and overreliance on certain MDs over others (the One-to-One principal). This research implies that learners' perception of topic should be explored further as a variable affecting MD use. Curricula should be designed based on frequency of MD use by English native speakers, and learners should receive instruction that teaches the norms of MD use in academic writing. The methodology used in the study to determine correlations between MD use and the curriculum has a wide range of potential applications in the field of Contrastive Interlanguage Analysis.

Multi-Functional Probe Recording: Field-Induced Recording and Near-Field Optical Readout

  • We demonstrate a high-speed recording based on field-induced manipulation in combination with an optical reading of recorded bits on Au cluster films using the atomic force microscope (AFM) and the near-field scanning optical microscope (NSOM). We reproduced 50 nm-sized mounds by applying short electrical pulses to conducting tips in a non-contact mode as a writing process. The recorded marks were then optically read using bent fiber probes in a transmission mode. A strong enhancement of light transmission is attributed to the local surface plasmon excitation on the protruded dots.

영어쓰기능력 향상을 위한 이러닝 활용 방안 연구 (A Study on the methods for improving writing ability through e-learning)

  • 인터넷에 의해 사회의 모든 분야가 변해가고 있으며 교육 분야에서도 그 영향력이 높아지고 있다. 이러닝은 인터넷을 이용하여 시간과 공간에 제약을 받지 않고 학습자가 원하는 수준과 방법으로 능동적인 학습할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 이러닝을 통하여 영어쓰기능력을 향상시키는 방안에 대해서 연구하였으며 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 온라인 강의 사이트, 인터넷 사이트, 커뮤니티나 블로그 등을 통해서 영어쓰기를 향상시키기 위한 강의를 들을 수 있고 학습 자료를 받을 수 있다. 둘째, 이러닝을 통한 영어쓰기 학습은 학습자 중심의 학습이며, 자신의 수준에 맞는 학습을 단계적으로 진행할 수 있다. 또한 자신이 선택한 학습을 하기 때문에 흥미를 가지고 능동적인 학습이 이루어진다. 셋째, 이메일이나 채팅을 통해 원어민과 글로 의사소통을 함으로써 자신의 생각을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 기회를 가질 수 있고, 다른 나라의 문화를 이해할 수 있으며 실질적인 영어를 학습할 수 있다.

Simple Near-Field Optical Recording Using Bent Cantilever Probes

  • This paper describes our high-density near-field optical recording using bent cantilever fiber probes installed in an atomic force microscope. We conducted a near-field reading of nano-scale hole patterns with a 100 nm spatial resolution and a 25 ${\mu}m$/s scan speed; this implies a capability of a data reading density of 60 Gb/$in^2$ with a 0.25 kbps data transfer rate. In addition, we investigated re-writable near-field recording on photochromic diarylethene films. We successfully recorded erasable memory bits having a minimum width of 600 nm in a writing time as short as 30ms. We found that using a cantilever probe simplifies the setup and operation of the near-field optical recording system and may offer multifunctional recording capabilities.
