실제 이미지에서 현저성과 맥락 정보의 영향을 고려한 시각 탐색 모델 (Visual Search Model based on Saliency and Scene-Context in Real-World Images)

  • According to much research on cognitive science, the impact of the scene-context on human visual search in real-world images could be as important as the saliency. Therefore, this study proposed a method of Adaptive Control of Thought-Rational (ACT-R) modeling of visual search in real-world images, based on saliency and scene-context. The modeling method was developed by using the utility system of ACT-R to describe influences of saliency and scene-context in real-world images. Then, the validation of the model was performed, by comparing the data of the model and eye-tracking data from experiments in simple task in which subjects search some targets in indoor bedroom images. Results show that model data was quite well fit with eye-tracking data. In conclusion, the method of modeling human visual search proposed in this study should be used, in order to provide an accurate model of human performance in visual search tasks in real-world images.

  • In this paper, a programming system for robot-based manufacturing cell which can control and simulate manufacturing devices as well as robots in workcell is proposed and developed. The system is based on world model, and modem textual and object-level robot programming language and interactive graphic world modeler are used to construct and exploit world model. Graphic simulation is used as an efficient and easy to use debugging or verifying tool for user written robot programs. Machine dependency is minimized by adopting the hierarchical control structure and by assuming all the workcell components as virtual ones.

가상 세계를 위한 효과적인 수익 모델 연구 - 생활형 가상 세계에서 게임 내 자산 판매 방식을 중심으로 - (A Study on Effective Revenue Model for Virtual World - Focusing on Payment Method of In-Game Assets in Social Virtual World)

  • 가상 세계(Virtual World)는 다수의 플레이어들이 자신을 표현하는 아바타를 통해 한 공간에서 다양한 상호작용을 경험하는 사이버 게임 공간이다. 외국을 중심으로 활발하게 개발 중인 가상 세계는 전 세계적으로 앞으로도 지속적으로 성장할 것으로 기대 된다. 이러한 가상 세계는 가입자들이 가상공간을 무료로 접근하고 가상공간에서의 활동에 대해 과금을 하는 방식이 보편화될 것으로 예상된다. 그러나 대부분의 가상 세계가 2000년 초부터 서비스가 시작되어 가상 세계의 수익 모델에 관한 연구는 초기 단계에 불과하다. 한국의 경우 게임을 무료로 즐기면서 게임 내 아이템 판매 등을 통해 수익을 창출하는 방식에 대한 수많은 시도가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 한국 온라인 게임의 수익 모델과 외국에서 상업적으로 성공을 거둔 가상 세계의 수익 모델을 분석하여 게임 내 자산 판매 방식을 중심으로 생활형 가상 세계를 위한 효과적인 수익 모델을 제안한다. 이 논문에서 제안하는 게임 내 자산 판매를 통한 수익 모델의 가이드라인은 생활형 가상 세계의 효과적인 수익 창출에 기여할 것으로 예상된다.

  • The 21st century is called “an era of creation” or “an era of speed.” These are flat expressions requiring a fierce competition between individuals, corporations and nations. In a reality in which we should make new things continuously within a short period of time, the world best benchmarking can become a good alternative. The world best practice can be called “a mode of operation” that has created the world's best performance in a particular field of managerial activities. It is very meaningful for the nations' corporations, which have a lower competitiveness than world-class ones and weak points in the area of human resources development, in particular, to benchmark the world-class corporations' best practices of HRD. Therefore, this study is conducted in conformity with a model of the Instructional Systems Designs for the Total Quality Education that brings the structure of the world-class corporations' best practices of HRD into line with that of the Total Quality Management. That is, analysis, design, development, implementation and assessment are included in this study.

사회적 자기이미지와 가상공간에서의 아바타 이미지 - 이상적 이미지와 실제적 이미지를 중심으로 - (Social Self Image and Avatar Image in the Virtual World: Focus on Ideal-Self Image and Actual-Self Image)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between one's social-self image and Online Avatar image. Influence of these virtual images on one's attitude toward real world and commitment to the virtual world was examined. In addition, the gender difference was examined. A structural equation model with social self image as exogenous variable and influence of Avatar as endogenous variable was designed. Real and ideal Avatar images were the mediating variable in the model. Survey questionnaire was developed and data from 425 respondents were analyzed. Results indicated that the conceptual model was a good fit to the data. Respondents who perceived their social self-images importantly were likely to have real images of Avatars. Ideal image and real image had significant on commitment to virtual world and attitudes toward the real world. For male respondents, social self image had stronger influence on real image of Avatar and ideal image had stronger influence on commitment to virtual world than female respondents.

Stochastic structures of world's death counts after World War II

  • This paper analyzes death counts after World War II of several countries to identify and to compare their stochastic structures. The stochastic structures that this paper entertains are three structural time series models, a local level with a random walk model, a fixed local linear trend model and a local linear trend model. The structural time series models assume that a time series can be formulated directly with the unobserved components such as trend, slope, seasonal, cycle and daily effect. Random effect of each unobserved component is characterized by its own stochastic structure and a distribution of its irregular component. The structural time series models use the Kalman filter to estimate unknown parameters of a stochastic model, to predict future data, and to do filtering data. This paper identifies the best-fitted stochastic model for three types of death counts (Female, Male and Total) of each country. Two diagnostic procedures are used to check the validity of fitted models. Three criteria, AIC, BIC and SSPE are used to select the best-fitted valid stochastic model for each type of death counts of each country.

A Mixed Integer Programming Model for Bulk Cargo Ship Scheduling with a Single Loading Port

  • This paper concerns a bulk or semibulk cargo ship scheduling problem with a single loading port. This type of ship scheduling problem is frequently needed in real world for carrying minerals or agricultural produce from a major single production zone to many destinations scattered over a large area of the world. The first optimization model for this problem was introduced by Ronen (1986) as a nonlinear mixed integer program. The model developed in this paper is an improvement of his model in the sense that nonlinearities and numerous unnecessary integer variables have been eliminated. By this improvement we could expect real world instances of moderate sizes to be solved optimal solutions by commercial integer programming software. Similarity between the ship scheduling model and the capacitated facility location model is also discussed.

유도무기 임무 분석을 위한 레이더 성능 모델 (A Radar Performance Model for Mission Analyses of Missile Models)

  • In M&S, radar model is a software module to identify position data of simulation objects. In this paper, we propose a radar performance model for simulations of air defenses. The previous radar simulations are complicated and difficult to model and implement since radar systems in real world themselves require a lot of considerations and computation time. Moreover, the previous radar simulations completely depended on radar equations in academic fields; therefore, there are differences between data from radar equations and data from real world in mission level analyses. In order to solve these problems, we firstly define functionality of radar systems for air defense. Then, we design and implement the radar performance model that is a simple model and deals with being independent from the radar equations in engineering levels of M&S. With our radar performance model, we focus on analyses of missions in our missile model and being operated in measured data in real world in order to make sure of reliability of our mission analysis as much as it is possible. In this paper, we have conducted case studies, and we identified the practicality of our radar performance model.

  • Virtual world typically characterized by Second Life (www.secondlife.com) has been successfully drawing a great deal of potential users all around the world. Attention towards 3D avartars has been increasing exponentially especially in the electronic commerce world. 3D avatars have firm position in the virtual world. This study is launched to explore this research void in which trust transference from 3D-avatars-sales representative to customers purchase intention will be especially analyzed on. To perform experiments, a research model was built in a form of path analysis. Two types of 3D avatars were designed and implemented-at-tractive type and professional type. Questionnaire survey was adopted, and empirical analysis results were obtained from the research model. Results reveal that the proposed hypotheses are proven with statistical significance.

  • 사람의 마음은 의식 세계와 무의식 세계로 나누어진다. 우리 눈에 보이는 행동은 의식적인 세계의 표출이지만 무의식 세계가 의식 세계보다 더 많은 영역을 차지하는 것으로 뇌 과학자들은 전하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기본적인 로미오와 줄리엣의 사랑모델에서 의식 세계와 무의식 세계로 나누고 이를 복소수 형태로 표시한 후 이에 대한 거동을 시계열과 위상 공간으로 나타내고, 이들 거동 특성에서 비선형 특성이 존재하는지를 확인한다.
