대한민국 근로자의 근로시간 분석연구 (Analysis of Korean workers' working hours)

  • 본 연구에서는 2006년 1차, 2010년 2차, 2011년 3차, 2014년 4차 근로환경조사(KWCS) 결과를 바탕으로 2000년대 중반부터 약 10년에 걸쳐 직업별, 고용계약기간별, 직장 유형별, 최종학력별로 우리나라 근로자의 근로시간이 어떻게 변했는지 살펴보았다. 아울러 우리나라의 근로환경조사(KWCS)와 유럽의 2010년 5차 근로환경조사(EWCS) 결과를 비교하였다. 주당 근로시간의 경우 2000년대 중반부터 근래에까지 줄어들었지만 유럽의 근로시간보다는 아직도 더 길다. 직업별로는 서비스종사자와 판매종사자가 전문가보다, 민간부문이 공공부문 및 비영리단체보다, 그리고 저학력자가 고학력자보다 근로시간이 더 길다.

  • This study investigated the general trends and differences in the working life of overseas Korean women. The subjects were 872 working Korean women over 20 years of age living abroad in America, China, and Russia Central Asia. The subjects completed a questionnaire on working life and the data were analyzed using SPSS. The working environment of Korean-American women was not stable. Many Korean-American women worked to help the home economy. They were paid by the hour, day and week. On the other hand, many Korean-Chinese women worked for self-achievement and usually for 8 hours a day. The working life of Korean women in Russia Central Asia was not good. They had a small income and worked to help the home economy. The first variables for changing their occupation were income and bonus. Despite their unstable working environment, overseas Korean women estimated their working life positively. They rated scores higher than the median on job satisfaction, business importance, duty ability, duty adaptation and family support. Job stress showed lower scores than the median. Korean women in Russia Central Asia showed lower scores on job satisfaction, family support, and work time flexibility than the other two groups.

Long Working Hours in Korea: Based on the 2014 Korean Working Conditions Survey

  • Background: Long working hours adversely affect worker safety and health. In 2004, Korea passed legislation that limited the work week to 40 hours, in an effort to improve quality-of-life and increase business competitiveness. This regulation was implemented in stages, first for large businesses and then for small businesses, from 2004 to 2011. We previously reported that average weekly working hours decreased from 2006 to 2010, based on the Korean Working Conditions Survey. Methods: In the present study, we examine whether average weekly working hours continued to decrease in 2014 based on the 2014 Korean Working Conditions Survey. Results: The results show that average weekly working hours among all groups of workers decreased in 2014 relative to previous years; however, self-employed individuals and employers (who are not covered by the new legislation) in the specific service sectors worked > 60 h/wk in 2014. Conclusion: The Korean government should prohibit employees from working excessive hours and should also attempt to achieve social and public consensus regarding work time reduction to improve the safety, health, and quality-of-life of all citizens, including those who are employers and self-employed.

문화적응스트레스가 직무만족에 미치는 영향 -국내항공사 외국인 객실승무원을 대상으로- (The Impact of Acculturation Stress on Job Satisfaction - focus on Foreign Cabin Crew working in Korea Airlines -)

  • 본 연구는 국내 항공사에 근무하는 외국인 객실승무원을 대상으로 그들이 서비스 업무를 수행함에 있어 서로 다른 문화차이로 인해 발생되는 문화적응스트레스가 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 대하여 파악하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 외국인 객실승무원의 문화적응스트레스에 국적은 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로, 근무년수는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 직무만족에 국적과 근무년수는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 외국인 객실승무원의 문화적응스트레스는 직무만족에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 자신의 나라와 다른 새로운 문화차이에서 오는 스트레스를 줄여줄 수 있는 방안과 조직 내에서 외국인 객실승무원과의 커뮤니케이션에 좀 더 다가갈 수 있도록 이들에 대한 좀 더 효율적인 제도가 필요하겠다.

대학의 연구실 안전관리를 위한 연구활동 종사자의 안전의식 차이에 관한 연구 - 일반대학, 전문대학, 폴리텍대학 - (A study on the difference in safety awareness of research employees working for laboratory safety management of university institutes - University, Junior College, Polytechnic Colleges-)

  • The study was conducted with statical analysis of data (828 data in 2010, 752 data in 2012, 648 data in 2014) in order to evaluate laboratory awareness difference of research employees working in different types of universities. Results of the study were as follows: First, university institutes in the order of polytechnic colleges, university, and junior college showed the highest laboratory safety awareness in 'awareness and education of laboratorial safety regulation' and 'awareness in laboratory risk factors'. Second, the difference in safety awareness of universities by year(years that conducted current status survey) was the highest in year 2014, then in 2010, and in 2008. Third, the difference of research employees working for laboratory safety management by year(years that conducted current status) showed that university had the highest laboratory safety awareness in year 2010, but it changed to polytechnic colleges in year 2012 and 2014. Through this study, we could recognize the difference in safety awareness of research employees working in university institutes.

근무기관의 조직건강성이 유아교사의 창의적 인성에 미치는 영향: 놀이교수효능감의 매개효과 검증 (The Influence of Organizational Health on the Creative Personality of Teachers in Early Childhood Education: Examining the Mediating Effects of Play Teaching Efficacy)

  • Objective: This study was conducted to examine the mediating effects of play teaching efficacy in the relationship between the organizational health of teacher workplaces and the creative personality of the teachers. Methods: The Pearson product-moment correlation analysis and one-way ANOVA were conducted for data analysis using SPSS 25.0. For mediating analysis, Baron & Kenny's (1986) multiple regression analysis using SPSS 25.0 and the Sobel test were also implemented. Results: There were significant differences in the organizational health of the workplaces according to age, years of working experience, type of workplace, and daily working hours. For play teaching efficacy, there were significant differences according to age, education level, years of working experience, type of workplace, and daily working hours of the teacher. On the other hand, significant differences were found in terms of age and education level in relation to the teacher having a creative personality. Play teaching efficacy was found to have a full mediation effect on the relationship between the organizational health of the workplace and the creative personality of the teacher. Conclusion/Implications: The organizational health of the workplace and play teaching efficacy should be improved in order to enhance the creative personality of teachers in early childhood education.

Impact of Reduced Working Hours and Night Work Hours on Metabolic Syndrome: A Quasi-Experimental Study

  • Objectives: Epidemiological evidence linking long working hours and shift work to metabolic syndrome remains inadequate. We sought to evaluate the impact of reducing working hours on metabolic syndrome. Methods: We compared the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among male manual workers in a manufacturing company (N = 371) before and after the introduction of policy to reduce daily work hours from 10 to 8 hours. Components of metabolic syndrome were measured in periodic health examinations before the intervention, 6-9 months after, and 1.5-2 years after the intervention. Generalized estimating equation models were used to estimate changes in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome. Analyses were stratified by day work versus shift work. Results: The results showed a significantly decreased prevalence of metabolic syndrome 6-9 months following the intervention in day workers (risk ratio = 0.68, 95% confidence interval 0.52-0.88), but the benefit disappeared after 1.5-2 years. Shift workers showed a decreased prevalence of metabolic syndrome for the whole follow-up duration after the intervention, although the change was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Reducing working hours was associated with short-term improvement in metabolic syndrome in male manual workers.

동절기 아파트 골조공사의 적정공기 산정에 관한 연구 - 기준층 사이클 공정분석을 중심으로 - (Optimization of Estimating Duration of the Structural Frame for the High-rise Apartment Housing during the Winter season -Focusing on One Cycle Time Scheduling Mechanism of the Typical Floor-)

  • 공공 발주기관의 동절기 공사불능기간의 운영은 공사기간을 길게 하고, 건설사업비를 증가시킨다. 또한, 건설인력의 활용을 어렵게 하여 근로소득을 감소시킴으로써 국가 경제에도 나쁜 영향을 미친다. 그러므로 골조공사는 동절기에도 시행되어야 할 것이다. 그러나 동절기 골조공사는 평상계절과 동일한 속도로 진행할 수 없기 때문에 별도의 공기산정 방법이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 공정메커니즘 분석을 통하여 동절기 골조 기준층 1사이클의 실작업일수를 구하고, 5년간의 달력 및 기상청 자료를 이용하여 동절기 5년 평균 비작업일수를 분석하였다. 분석된 실작업일수와 비작업일수를 통합하여 동절기 골조 기준층 1사이클의 적정 공기를 제안하고, 이를 실적자료와 비교하여 검증하였다. 본 연구결과는 동절기 골조공사의 공기산정에 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

광주지역 치과위생사의 직무 스트레스 조사 (A Survey on the Job Stress of Dental Hygienist on Working Environment)

  • 치과위생사 근무환경의 빠른 변화와 요구되는 직무내용이 다양해짐에 따라 구강진료기관에 근무하는 치과위생사는 많은 직무스트레스에 직면해 있다. 이러한 스트레스에 의하여 구강보건인력간의 업무도 전문화, 세분화되면서 스트레스 정도도 심화되고 있어 지역사회구강진료기관의 치과위생사의 입장에서 받는 스트레스에 관한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 따라서 치과위생사의 업무활동으로 인한 직무 스트레스 요인간의 관련성을 분석하고자 광주광역시 치과 병/의원에 근무하고 있는 치과위생사를 각 구별로 편의 추출법을 이용하여 206명을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문지법으로 조사 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 직무 스트레스 분석결과 직장에서의 장래성과 지지(3.44), 환자와의 관계(3.41), 업무관련(3.38), 전문가의 입장(3.19), 대인관계(2.66) 순으로 나타났다. 2. 업무관련 스트레스는 20-25세(p<0.05), 치과의원(10명 미만), 미혼(p<0.05), 근무경력 1-3년, 가정경제부담이 없는 경우에서 가장 높았다. 3. 전문가의 입장관련 스트레스는 20-25세, 치과병원, 미혼, 대졸이상, 근무경력 3년-6년 경우에서 가장 높았다. 4. 환자와의 관계관련 스트레스는 20-25세, 치과의원(10명 미만), 미혼, 근무경력 1-3년미만(p<0.05), 부모와 동거하는 경우에서 높았다. 5. 대인관계 스트레스는 20-25세, 치과의원(10명 미만) 미혼, 부모와 동거하는 경우, 가정 경제 부담이 없는 경우 높았다(p<0.05). 6. 직장에서의 장래성과 지지 요인 스트레스는 20-25세, 치과의원(10명 미만), 미혼, 1-3년 근무경력, 부모와 동거하는 경우, 가정경제부담을 전적으로 하는 경우에서 높았다. 치과 병/의원에서 근무하는 치과위생사를 대상으로 직무활동에서 발생되는 스트레스를 체계적으로 감소시킬 수 있는 방법을 강구해야 한다고 사료되었다.

일-가정양립지원정책이 아동양육 취업여성의 근로지속의사에 미치는 영향 : 미취학아동양육 취업여성과 취학아동양육 취업여성 집단비교 (The Effect of Work-Family Reconciliation Policy on Intention to Keep Working of Working Mother with Children)

  • This study investigates the influence of policy-related factors on the intention to keep working among mothers with children under 12 years old, especially focusing on the differences between the mothers with preschool children and elementary school children. The study also considers the individual, family, job characteristics of mothers with children, in order to draw the specific impact of policy factors. Data was collected through e-mails from 500 working mothers living in urban area, and 489 interview data were finally utilized in analyses. The results of analyses show that the level of awareness on work-family balancing policy significantly influences on the intention to keep working among mothers with preschool children. On the contrary, there is no statistically significant policy-related factors influencing on the intention to keep working among mothers with elementary school children. Both studies and social polices excessively focused on the mothers with preschool children in terms of work-family balancing issues. Working mothers with elementary school children have not been spot-lighted as beneficiaries from social policy, even though elementary school children also should be cared by others after school. Effective social services assisting work-family balance among mothers with preschool children should be more developed.
