XGBoost와 SHAP 기법을 활용한 근로자 이직 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Employee Turnover Prediction using XGBoost and SHAP)

  • Purpose In order for companies to continue to grow, they should properly manage human resources, which are the core of corporate competitiveness. Employee turnover means the loss of talent in the workforce. When an employee voluntarily leaves his or her company, it will lose hiring and training cost and lead to the withdrawal of key personnel and new costs to train a new employee. From an employee's viewpoint, moving to another company is also risky because it can be time consuming and costly. Therefore, in order to reduce the social and economic costs caused by employee turnover, it is necessary to accurately predict employee turnover intention, identify the factors affecting employee turnover, and manage them appropriately in the company. Design/methodology/approach Prior studies have mainly used logistic regression and decision trees, which have explanatory power but poor predictive accuracy. In order to develop a more accurate prediction model, XGBoost is proposed as the classification technique. Then, to compensate for the lack of explainability, SHAP, one of the XAI techniques, is applied. As a result, the prediction accuracy of the proposed model is improved compared to the conventional methods such as LOGIT and Decision Trees. By applying SHAP to the proposed model, the factors affecting the overall employee turnover intention as well as a specific sample's turnover intention are identified. Findings Experimental results show that the prediction accuracy of XGBoost is superior to that of logistic regression and decision trees. Using SHAP, we find that jobseeking, annuity, eng_test, comm_temp, seti_dev, seti_money, equl_ablt, and sati_safe significantly affect overall employee turnover intention. In addition, it is confirmed that the factors affecting an individual's turnover intention are more diverse. Our research findings imply that companies should adopt a personalized approach for each employee in order to effectively prevent his or her turnover.

  • The use of clean energy based on the hydrogen economy is increasing rapidly due to the greenhouse gas reduction policies and the increase in the need for hydrogen. Currently, South Korea government have been considering a plan to construct hydrogen refueling stations at expressway service area for the purpose of supplying hydrogen vehicles. In the case of a hydrogen refueling stations, a quantitative risk assessment (QRA) must be performed because it includs and uses a high pressurized hydrogen storage tank. In this study, QRA was conducted using societal risk and F-N curve by the consequence assessment (CA) of jet fire and explosion according to the population density, capacity of the high pressurized hydrogen storage tank and frequency assessment (FA) data to the general hydrogen refueling stations systems in expressway service area. In the cases of jet with a leak diameter of 7.16 mm, regardless of expressway service area location, the societal risk was over 1E-04 that was acceptable for as Low As reasonably practicable (ALARP) region (workforce), but unacceptable for ALARP region (public). In the cases of gas explosion, all expressway service area satisfy ALARP region. In the case of the population density is over 0.0727, QRA for constructing the hydrogen refueling stations, must be conducted.

직무분석을 통한 유치원 설립유형별 영양(교)사의 과업량 및 적정인력 추정 (Evaluation of Workload and Full-Time Equivalents in Kindergarten Dietitians through Job Analysis by Kindergarten Establishment Type)

  • This study was conducted to estimate the appropriate workforce of dietitians by type of kindergarten through the recognition survey and job analysis of the kindergarten. Nutritionists' duties were classified into 6 duties, 28 tasks and 94 task elements. The statistical data analysis was completed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) (ver. 25.0). The time spent on 6 duties, including 'Nutrition management' (public attached 666.24 hours/year, public independent 843.04 hours/year), 'Foodservice management Practices' (public attached 1,472.52 hours/year, public independent 1,298.11 hours/year), 'Hygiene management of kindergarten foodservice' (public attached 611.78 hours/year, public independent 607.18 hours/year), 'Nutrition-diet education and counseling' (public attached 340.53 hours/year, public independent 253.42 hours/year), 'Managing snack during semesters and lunch/snacks during breaks' (public independent 309.04 hours/year) and 'Professionalism enhancement' (public attached 88.86 hours/year; public independent 65.17 hours/year). Total working hours for dietitians were 3,179.94 hours/year (public attached) and 3,375.97 hours/year (public independent). The time/day ×5 days/week ×52 weeks/year calculation method using derived total working hours/year was applied to derive appropriate full-time equivalents (FTEs). The analysis showed that the public attached kindergarten's FTEs were 1.53. The public independent's FTEs were 1.62, and the total FTEs were 1.55. This is the first study to analyze the workload of kindergarten dietitians and appropriate manpower by kindergarten establishment type. It is expected to be a valuable policy basis for efficient operation measures related to the kindergarten dietitians.

  • Purpose : This study is a descriptive research study to establish basic data for stable operation of dementia relief center as a part of national responsibility system for dementia and to establish the role of the professional workforce. Methods : This study is a survey study involving 126 nurses working at 19 dementia relief centers. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results : The importance tasks that nurses think of were Dementia Diagnosis, Counseling, Register and Classification and Dementia Preventive Projects. In addition, tasks that showed high performance were in the order of Dementia Diagnosis, Counseling, Register and Classification, Management of Dementia subjects. As a result, the final items of work areas and contents included 45 subcategories of work content for eight work areas. Conclusion : Through this study, it was possible to investigate the overall work area and content of nurses at the Dementia relief Center. It is necessary to develop a work description suitable for nurses who are medical personnel specializing in dementia safety centers. 온라인 치과 롤플레이 영상 및 치과 ASMR 영상의 이용 현황과 효과 분석 (Status and effectiveness of online dental role-play images and dental ASMR videos)

  • This study aimed to compare the perception of dental role-play or dental ASMR videos between the general public and dental personnel, to determine whether they are suitable for mass media or educational media, and to identify guidelines for video production. The survey consent form was agreed on using SNS for the general public and dental personnel, 236 ordinary people and 232 dental officers who said that they watched dental ASMR videos were analyzed. The questionnaire consisted of 27 questions for the general public and 31 for dental personnel. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and the Independent T-test using SPSS 25.0 ver. The viewing experience of 'dental ASMR videos' was significantly higher among dentists (84.7%) than among the general population (71.5%) (p<0.001). Overall, 53.8% of the general public were interested in watching dental ASMR videos, and 47.8% of dental personnel acquired clinical information from them.. Overall, 64.8% of the general public and 65.5% of the dental workforce felt that such technical videos should be produced under the guidance of experts in the field to provide accurate technical information. It is necessary to avoid indiscriminate video production with inaccurate information produced by non-experts and to continuously monitor dental ASMR videos dental institutions for better quality of the videos.

치과위생사의 재직의도에 관한 연구: 근로기준법을 중심으로 (A study on retention intention of dental hygienists : focusing on the labor standards act)

  • Objectives: The objectives of this study were to find the influential factors of dental hygienists' work environment and level of perception of rights on their retention intention, and to provide basic data for protecting their rights and interests and improving their employment rate. Methods: From June 6 to July 24, 2021, a questionnaire survey was conducted among 214 dental hygienists via an online link. After questionnaire collection, IBM SPSS program (ver. 21.0; IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA) was used to conduct frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Results: The significant and positive influential factors of dental hygienists' retention intention were married individuals (p=0.022), fewer working hours (p<0.001, p=0.007), good work environment (p=0.002), higher wages (p<0.001, p<0.001), higher education (p=0.032), and perception of rights in a mid-level (p=0.038). Conclusions: It is necessary to consider wages and welfare equivalent to dental hygienists' work intensity and workload. By regularly educating dental hygienists to increase their perception of rights, expanding an opportunity of participation, and improving their work environment, it will be possible to increase their retention intention and efficiently establish manpower in dental clinics.

외국인근로자의 근골격계질환 발생가능성에 관한 연구 (Investigation of the Potential Risk for Musculoskeletal Disorders in Migrant Workers)

  • Korean domestic workers are trend to avoid harmful and dangerous jobs calls 3D work due to the poor working conditions. Therefore, the incoming population of foreign workers is increasing to fulfill the required labor force. Mostly these foreign workers are placed in small and medium-size industries. As work that induces musculoskeletal disorders(WMSD) is equally exposed to domestic workers as well as foreign workers, this study attempted to investigate the work burdened by musculoskeletal disorders and derive improvement measures by understanding the actual conditions of the worksites of foreign workers. The result of this investigation defines that the possibility of developing musculoskeletal disorders is very high in the environment in which more than 40% of the respondents work with heavy objects and repetitive work of wrists and elbows. To prevent the symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders among foreign workers, three measures were proposed. To reduce the mandatory check-up period of WMSD under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, to revise the employment permit system, and to enhance the practical help of EPS education. Safety and health management of foreign workers is becoming an essential task not only for securing a workforce but also for the national image. Personal and economic losses at the national level should be minimized through policy support such as financial support for small and medium-sized businesses in Korea and supplementation of legal systems for the protection of foreign workers.

IT인력의 경력변경의도 영향요인 분석: KSA와 자아효능감을 중심으로 (A Study on the Effecting Factors in IT Worker's Career Change Intentions: Based on the KSA and the Self-efficacy)

  • IT산업의 현황을 살펴보면, IT산업에서 요구되는 핵심역량인 KSA를 지닌 인력이 타산업으로 이탈하거나, 이탈하고자 하는 의도를 지니고 있는 경우가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 유능한 인력의 배출만큼이나 우수인재의 이탈방지는 기업이나 산업의 경쟁력 강화에 주된 요인으로 작용한다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 IT 인력의 경력변경의도에 영향을 주는 요인을 살펴봄으로서 IT인력의 경력몰입을 위한 전략적 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 분석 결과 IT 인력의 기술적 KSA와 행동적 KSA가 자아효능감에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났고 나아가 이러한 자아효능감이 경력몰입 및 경력변경의도에 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나 경영관리적 KSA는 자아효능감 및 경력몰입에 영향을 마치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

객체 검출 기반 클라우드 시스템 : 데이터베이스를 통한 효율적인 병해 모니터링 (Object Detection-Based Cloud System: Efficient Disease Monitoring with Database)

  • 농촌 인구의 감소와 고령화로 인한 노동력 부족, 비닐하우스 내의 악화된 환경과 위험에 따른 사망 사례가 발생하고 있다. 이에 따라, 비닐하우스에서의 작물 재배와 병해 검출을 자동화하여 인력 손실을 막는 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 비닐하우스에서 작물의 병해를 검출하기 위해 객체 검출 기반의 모델을 활용한다. 또한, 클라우드에서 인공지능 모델의 환경을 구성하여 안정성을 확보한다. 제안하는 시스템은 비닐하우스 내에서 촬영한 영상을 데이터베이스에 저장하고, 클라우드에서 영상을 다운로드한 후 Yolo-v4를 기반으로 추론한 검출 결과를 JSON 파일로 생성한다. 이 파일을 분석하여 데이터베이스로 전송하여 저장한다. 실험 결과로 객체 검출을 통한 병해 감지는 비닐하우스와 같은 실제 환경에서 높은 성능을 나타냄을 확인할 수 있고 데이터베이스를 통하여 효율적인 모니터링이 가능함을 확인하였다.

우리나라 제조업 기업의 수출중단 결정요인 분석 (Determinants of a Firm's Exit from Exporting: Evidence from Korean Manufacturing Firms)

  • 본 연구는 2006~2014년 통계청의 기업활동조사 자료를 이용하여 우리나라 제조업 기업의 수출중단 결정요인을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 생존분석 기법인 Complementary Log-Log 모형을 통해 우리나라 제조업 수출기업의 수출중단 가능성에 기업 및 산업 특성과 거시경제 변수들이 미치는 영향을 추정하였다. 분석결과, 기업 특성인 고용규모, 자본집약도, 무형자산 소유여부, 외국인 소유여부와 산업 특성인 신규기업의 고용대체율 등이 수출중단 가능성에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 거시변수 중 세계수요 증가, 국내수요 감소가 수출기업의 수출중단 가능성을 유의하게 감소시키는 반면, 환율의 영향은 유의하지 않은 것으로 추정되었다. 또한, 시장금리가 상승하면 금융시장 자금조달여건이 불리해짐에 따라 수출기업의 수출중단 가능성이 커지며, 부채비율이 높은 기업이 이러한 금융여건의 영향을 더욱 크게 받는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 수출 주력산업인 경우 생산성이 높을수록 수출기업의 수출 중단 가능성이 감소하는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구결과는 기업 및 산업 특성과 거시 실물 변수 및 금융여건이 수출중단에 복합적으로 영향을 미치고 있음을 보여준다. 또한, 수출 주력산업 내 기업들의 생산성 제고와 기업의 재무건전성 향상이 수출기업들의 수출중단 가능성을 감소시키는 방향으로 작용할 수 있음을 시사한다.
