This study was conducted to investigate effects of waterlogging on the growth, physiological responses, and yield of Kimchi cabbage. The growth of Kimchi cabbage with applied optimized air temperature (set to $20^{\circ}C$) was greater than those with high air temperature (set to $30^{\circ}C$) and the growth significantly decreased by severe waterlogging treatment. The net photosynthetic rate of outer leaves on one hour after waterlogging treatment was higher at 72 hours waterlogging treatment in $20^{\circ}C$ and lower at 24 hours of waterlogging treatment in $30^{\circ}C$. The root activity was decreased by the elevation of waterlogging periods in $20^{\circ}C$ treatment and lower by the short of waterlogging periods in $30^{\circ}C$ treatment. The ratio of formality with non-waterlogging treatment was approximately 64% under $20^{\circ}C$ air temperature and that of range was from 16 to 30% under $30^{\circ}C$. The yield under $20^{\circ}C$ showed higher than that under high air temperature. The non-waterlogging treatment in $20^{\circ}C$ had 4,463 kg/10a, which was the greatest among all treatments, while yields of non-waterlogging treatment at $30^{\circ}C$ were significantly low as 1,082 kg/10a. Results suggested that additional drainage work should be needed to overcome waterlogged conditions of open field during heavy rainfall and should be drainage as soon as possible if there are waterlogging.

In this work, we investigated the effect of the oxidation temperature on the unipolar and bipolar resistance switching behaviors of the oxidized TiO-x films. TiOx films on Pt electrodes were fabricated by the oxidation of Ti films at $550^{\circ}C$ for 1 to 3 hours. The unipolar and bipolar resistance switching properties were investigated with the oxidation temperature and time. Also, the crystal structure and the physical properties such as chemical bonding states of TiOx layers were characterized in addition to the resistance switching characteristics. The resistance switching behaviors of TiOx films oxidized at above $450^{\circ}C$ and below $650^{\circ}C$ was shown. So, we investigated that the resistance switching behaviors of TiOx films oxidized at $550^{\circ}C$ with the oxidation time from 1 to 3 hour. The memory windows of unipolar switching in the oxidized TiOx films were reduced with increasing the oxidation time, but those of the bipolar switching were slightly enlarged. The enlargement of rutile TiO2 peak with increasing the oxidation time and temperature was studied by X-ray diffraction. An increase of non-lattice oxygen and Ti3+ in the TiOx films with the oxidation times was investigated by X-ray photoemission spectroscopy. It was expected that the uipolar and bipolar resistive switching of the oxidized TiOx film was strongly related with the migration of non-lattice oxygen anions and schottky barrier height, respectively.
At present the most popular turbulence models used for engineering solutions to flow problems are the $k-{\varepsilon}$ and Reynolds stress models. The shortcoming of these models based on the isotropic eddy viscosity concept and Reynolds averaging in flow fields of the type found in the field of Wind Engineering are well documented. In view of these shortcomings this paper presents the implementation of a non-linear model and its evaluation for flow around a building. Tests were undertaken using the classical bluff body shape, a surface mounted cube, with orientations both normal and skewed at $45^{\circ}$ to the incident wind. Full-scale investigations have been undertaken at the Silsoe Research Institute with a 6 m surface mounted cube and a fetch of roughness height equal to 0.01 m. All tests were originally undertaken for a number of turbulence models including the standard, RNG and MMK $k-{\varepsilon}$ models and the differential stress model. The sensitivity of the CFD results to a number of solver parameters was tested. The accuracy of the turbulence model used was deduced by comparison to the full-scale predicted roof and wake recirculation zone lengths. Mean values of the predicted pressure coefficients were used to further validate the turbulence models. Preliminary comparisons have also been made with available published experimental and large eddy simulation data. Initial investigations suggested that a suitable turbulence model should be able to model the anisotropy of turbulent flow such as the Reynolds stress model whilst maintaining the ease of use and computational stability of the two equations models. Therefore development work concentrated on non-linear quadratic and cubic expansions of the Boussinesq eddy viscosity assumption. Comparisons of these with models based on an isotropic assumption are presented along with comparisons with measured data.
We investigated how the surface roughness of electrode affects the charge injection at the pentacene/Au interface. After depositing Au film on the Si substrate by sputtering, we annealed the sample to control the Au surface roughness. Pentacene and Au top electrode were subsequently deposited to complete the sample. The nucleation density of pentacene was slightly higher on the rougher Au electrode, but surface morphologies of thick pentacene films were similar on both the as-prepared and the roughened Au electrodes. The current-voltage curves obtained from the Au/pentacene/Au structure measured as a function of temperature indicated that the interface barrier was higher for the rougher Au bottom-electrode. We propose that the higher barrier was caused by the lower work function of rougher electrode surface and the higher trap density at the interface.

The purpose of this study is to provide the method of saving the construction cost per unit area of the New Hanok using the inner space of a roof as a floor space with a structural modification of it's roof. The proportion of a roof of the Traditional Hanok accounts for about a half of it's elevation, so it is an essential element of it. But, compare to the whole construction cost of the Traditional Hanok, it costs over a half of expenses to build it. Recently, at the traditional building type, it is found that the inner space of a roof of it is used as a floor space with a structural modification of it's roof. It can be divided into two types, the storage type and the living type. The New Hanok at downtown can accommodate various new lifestyle, so the length of it's Yangtong is longer than that of the Traditional Hanok. When we adjust the proportion of the traditional Hanok to the New Hanok, the height of the column and the roof of the New Hanok becomes also higher than those of the traditional Hanok. So, using the upper part of the column and the roof of the New Hanok, we can make the inner space of a roof of the New Hanok as a floor space -like a bed room, tea room, personal work space and a storage- vertically connect with the 1st floor as the main living area. As a result, it is expected to save the unit construction cost of the New Hanok and has an extensity of space when we build the New Hanok at downtown.
The purpose of this study is to investigate a feasibility of a small mountain as a field work site on geological features in Earth sciences classes at all levels. Mt. Geumdang with the height of 305 meters from the sea level is located in the metropolitan city of Gwangju, southern part of Korea. The study reviews the human and natural geography, geological features, geomorphic resources, landscapes, and conveniences of the mountain for a possibility of meaningful field work. The population within the distance of 5 km from the mountain stands at about 620,000 and 170,000 of them are students and teachers. Mt. Geumdang has a warm temperature climate with low rainfall throughout the year, so it seems suitable for a field survey. Road network and public transportation system around the area are well-developed and easily accessible. Mt. Geumdang shows various rock type and geological structures. The basement rock is Gwangju granite, which is plutonic body of the Jurassic period. Also, granophyre (micrographic granite) and various volcanic rocks distributed as bedded tuff, lapilli tuff, and rhyolite of the Cretaceous period. Many andesitic and felsic dykes were intruded into the rock by joint system. In Mt. Geumdang, many geomorphic resources are found such as U shaped mountain, joint, fault, lamination, gnamma, tor, cliff, groove, block stream and block field, regolith, and saprolite. It has a beautiful mountain scenery including the view of whole shape of Mt. Mudeung, panoramic view of the town, Pungam lake, World Cup stadium and sunrise and sunset. Furthermore, the area has ecologic study facilities related to geology, emergency medical and convenience facilities for field works. In conclusion, Mt. Geumdang is highly feasible for geological field studies at all levels.

As data acquisition using unmanned aerial vehicles is widely used, as one of the ways to increase the accuracy of photogrammetry using unmanned aerial vehicles, a method of inputting both vertical and oblique images in bundle adjustment of aerial triangulation has been proposed. In this study, in order to find a suitable method for increasing the accuracy of photogrammetry, the accuracy of the case of adjusting the oblique images taken at different shooting angles and the case of adjusting the oblique images with different shooting angles at the same time with the vertical images were compared. As a result of the study, it was found that the error of the checkpoint decreases as the angle of the input oblique images increases. In particular, when the vertical images and oblique images are used together, the height error decreases significantly as the angle of the oblique images increases. The current 『Aerial Photogrammetry Work Regulation』 requires RMSE (Root Mean Square Error), which is the same as GSD (Ground Spatial Distance) of a vertical image. When using an oblique images with a shooting angle of 50°, a result close to this standard is obtained. If the vertical images and the 50° oblique images were adjusted at the same time, the work regulations could be satisfied. Using the results of this study, it is expected that photogrammetry using low-cost cameras mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles will become more active.
LB-DECK, a precast concrete panel type, is a permanent concrete deck form used as a formwork for cast-in-place concrete pouring at bridge construction site. LB-DECK consists of 60 mm thick concrete slab and 125 mm height Lattice-girders partly embedded in the concrete slab. These decks have been applied to the bridges, which girder spacings are short enough to resist longitudinal cracking caused by construction loads. This paper presents experimental research work conducted to evaluate the cracking load of LB-DECKs designed for long span bridge decks. Twenty four non-composite beams and four composite beams are fabricated considering three design variables of thickness of concrete slab, height of lattice-girder, and diameter of top-bar. Static loads controlled by displacements are applied to test beams to obtain cracking and ultimate loads. Vertical displacements at the center of beams, strains of top-bar, crack propagation in concrete slab, and final failure modes are carefully monitored. The obtained cracking loads are compared to the analytical results obtained by elastic analyses. Long-term analyses using age-adjusted effective modulus method (AEMM) are also conducted to investigate the effects of concrete shrinkage on the cracking loads. Based on the test results, the tensile strength and the design details of LB-DECKs are discussed to prevent longitudinal cracking of long span bridge decks.
It is generally known that the measurement of the ionospheric total electron content(TEC) by GPS can more accurately monitor the broader area of the ionosphere than other current methods. \Ve measured the TEC along a slant path considering the arrival time differences of P-code which is transmitted from GPS satellites with the modulation on two L-band carrier frequencies, L1 (1574.42MHz) and L2 (1227.60MHz). Under the assumptions that the ionosphere is uniformly distributed and its average height is 350km, we transformed the slant TEC to the vertical TEC at the point that the line-of-sight direction to GPS satellite cut across the average height of the ionosphere. Because there is no dual frequency P-code GPS receiver in Korea, we used the data observed at the TAIW GPS station ($N25^{\circ},E121.5^{\circ}$) in Taiwan which is one of the core stations in International GPS and Geodynamics Services (IGS). The TEC values obtained in this work showed a typical daily variation of the ionosphere which is high in the daytime and low in the nighttime. Our results are found to be consistent with the SOLAR-DAILY data of NOAA and the Klobuchar's model for the ionospheric correction of GPS. In addition, in the cornparision with SOLAR-DAILY data, we estimated the precision of our TEC measurement as 2 TEC.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a walking-type two-row sesame reaper, which can simultaneously perform the cutting and collecting of sesame plants and other crops like perilla and soybean. Methods: The factors involved in reaping sesame were determined experimentally in order to design a prototype of the sesame reaper. The prototype is made up of four parts for cutting, conveying, collecting, and running. The height of two disc-plate saw blades on the cutting part is adjusted by an adjusting wheel, and peripheral speed is adjusted in accordance with the running speed. The conveying belt of the conveying part can be tilted from $0^{\circ}$ to $90^{\circ}$. The collecting part extracts a predetermined amount of transferred sesame plants. The prototype was used to evaluate the performance at different working speeds, so that the work efficiency can be calculated. Results: The center of gravity of the sesame plants was 900 mm, measured from the end of the cut stem. The diameter of the disc-plate saw blade was determined to be 355 mm, peripheral speed was 20.4-32.7 m/s, and the picking height of the conveying belt for sesame was 130 mm. The performance of transfer and collection of the sesame, when the insertion angles were $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$, proved to be excellent. However, when the angle was over $120^{\circ}$, the performance was only 75-80%. The performance was at 100% efficiency when the ratio between running speed and conveying belt speed of the prototype was 1:2, which seems to be the ideal ratio for the sesame reaper. Conclusions: A sesame reaper was developed, which can integrate the processes of cutting, conveying, and collecting, by investigating and considering various factors involved in the reaping process. The sesame reaper can reduce the costs for yielding and producing sesame due to its highly efficient performance.
