As the service robot market grows among the food technology industry, the quality of robot service that affects consumer behavioral intentions in the restaurant industry has become important. Serving robots, which are common in restaurants, reduce employee work through order and delivery, but because they do not respond to service failures, they increase customer dissatisfaction as well as increase employee work. In order to improve the quality of service beyond the simple function of receiving and serving orders, functions of recovery effort, fairness, empathy, responsiveness, and certainty of the process after service failure, such as serving employees, are also required. Accordingly, we assumed the type of failure of restaurant serving service as two internal and external factors, and developed a serving robot with a vocational ethics module to respond with a professional ethical attitude when the restaurant serving service fails. At this time, the expression and action of the serving robot were developed by adding a failure mode reflecting failure recovery efforts and empathy to the normal service mode. And by recruiting college students, we tested whether the service robot's response to two types of service failures had a significant effect on evaluating the robot. Participants responded that they were more uncomfortable with service failures caused by other customers' mistakes than robot mistakes, and that the serving robot's professional ethical empathy and response were appropriate. In addition, unlike the robot's favorability, the evaluation of the safety of the robot had a significant difference depending on whether or not a professional ethical empathy module was installed. A professional ethical empathy response module for natural service failure recovery using generative artificial intelligence should be developed and mounted, and the domestic serving robot industry and market are expected to grow more rapidly if the Korean serving robot certification system is introduced.
This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 155 dental hygienists in Busan, Gyeongnam to understand the effect of dental hygienists' job identity on job retention. The study was conducted after being reviewed by the Research Ethics Review Committee (1041449-201912-HR-003). For data analysis, hierarchical regression analysis was carried out to check the effect of three details of job identity on job retention step by step. As a result, among the details of job identity, there was an influence on job retention in the order of empathy for the job (β=.358, p<.001), relationship between job and individual (β=.562, p<.001), and work and unity (β=.562, p<.001). Therefore, it is judged that it would be helpful to maintain a job if the educational institution with the Department of Dental Hygiene conducts classes on occupational identity in a more comprehensive sense.
Over the last decades, the issue of work or labor has played a critical role in prevailing discourses to represent the changed economic reality. Aesthetic labor, cultural work, network labor, team-work and alike, have played a dazzling role to represent the emerging economic order, employing the word of labor. Certainly, it is not less than a part of a wide range of shifts in order to make capital work with more effect by making up a workable and governable subject. In this article, I try to examine shifts around the media work which has contributed to expand the new discourse of 'labor.' I will say that it is quite crucial for accounting for the reality of media work to shed light on moves to represent media work, and, among others, one to transform the subjectivity involved in it among others. Furthermore, it would be necessary to take a close look at the subjectivity of media work and its modification to deal with and eliminate the precariousness of media work. Saying about media work without paying any attention to heterogenous and various practices to compose a media work, one is forced to regard media work as the matter of economic and legal interests. In addition, it would bring about that the cultural political concerns of media work will be detached from critical sight of the media cultural studies. Referring to major studies around media work in critical media studies, cultural studies and political economy of communication, this article will briefly look into the arrangement of contentions around subjectivity of media work in South Korea. And it will try to suggest what cultural-political strategy we need to investigate, fighting against the hegemonic power to generate and regulate media work and its workers in precarious conditions. It does not intend to search the media work and its complicated realities in detail in South Korea. I wish that it would make a preliminary step to propose and elaborate the critical analysis of media work and its form of subjectivities.
The Police force and other public sector organizations do not like non-ethical evaluation of their members and disclosure of evaluation results. However, it is essential for survival and growth of the organization to identify, measure and resolve accurately the non-ethical behaviors of their members. In this study, the dimensions of police officers' unethical behavior were categorized as negligence, personal use, dishonesty, and misconduct of police officers, and the level of those dimensions were measured. After that, the differences due to the individual and work environmental characteristics were explored. The result showed that the level of non-ethical behavior was lowerer than the average. And the differences was statistically significant according to gender, rank of organization, deployed department of the work, and the period of work duration. This implied the necessities of education of police ethics, ethical atmosphere, and establishment of ethical system per differences in individual and work environmental characteristics. Also, considering the fact that the low level of ethical behavior did not lead to ethical action in actual and the inherent problem in research method how frankly the respondents answered the negative self-evaluation, continuous interest in non-ethical behavior and further systemic research are needed in a dimension of personnel management.
The purposes of the study are to describe the feature of the program components, and to identify their changes in the process of designing the social work programs in the community service agencies in Korea. In order to achieve these purposes, the researchers constructed an analytical framework including 24 program components derived from the related literatures. Data was collected by questionnaires answered by the social workers who were in charge of the program development and implementation. Descriptive statistics analysis and factor analysis were applied to exam the features of the program components in 195 social service programs developed by the funds from the Community Chest of Korea and a private funding foundation. As the result of the analysis, the three noticeable features are found; (1) the agencies have very actively involved in the designing work in the process of developing practice guideline, however they have less involved in the designing work in the process of implementing program; (2) program components which are low level in design activities are intervention models, staff education, and practical ethics; (3) 8 categories of components derived from the theoretical perspective are reduced to 6 categories in the process for developing practice guidelines, finally to 4 categories in the process for implementing the programs. The implications of major findings were discussed in academic and practical perspectives in Korea, including future research works in the area.
Painting theorists in Song dynasty often spoke 'Li' when they talked about paintings. But 'Li' of the song dynasty is not limited to the 'ethics'. First, it includes visible 'natural's truth', such as the differences of 'geography' and 'physics' between the depicted objects. Second, it also includes 'common sense' which was based on both the observation and the thinking. The theorists thought if the 'common sense' was improper in the painting, the whole work was invalid. Thirdly, it also includes 'the reasonable sense in special situation', which requires great imagination ability and elaborative faculty. For example, when playing wind instruments and stringed instruments in the same time at the same concert, the painter should accurately draw the different gestures of musicians according to that the wind instrument is 'sound when the finger lift' and the stringed instrument is 'sound after the finger have left' in that moment. Fourthly, it includes 'art reason', theorists call it as 'ShenLi' or 'MiaoLi'. 'ShenLi' or 'MiaoLi' require the creator to join the spiritual concept besides his observation and thinking. For example, 'banana in snow' is neither observed available nor thought of available, but is the result of spiritual concept of creators for seeking everlasting. And at last, it certainly includes 'the principle of ethics'. Painters often highlighted the ethical relations of the feudal nation and the value of individual gentleman through the allegory story of figure painting and even the sudden composition in the landscape painting. 'Geography', 'physical', and 'common sense' are required the meticulous observation and the rational thinking for the painted object. And 'the reasonable sense in special situation', 'the art reason', 'the principle of ethics' are required enhancing painting style in the painting artistic conception and realm of life based on the nuanced observation, making 'technology' into the 'Tao'. This is the six reasonable increasing requirements for the painting work. Therefore, 'seeking the final reason' is the fundamental spirit of painting theory of Song Dynasty.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop core competency of midwife practices to improve midwifery education, national examination and clinical practices. Method: Literature and. document review and internet search and survey were used. 127 registered in the Korean Midwifery Association midwives by structured instrument were surveyed to analyze midwife's practices and work situation. Result : Midwifery education program has to be either a post graduate or a graduate program for people with nursing license. Midwifery practice has to be extended to a lifelong health care of all women including non-pregnant women, not just a health care of pregnant women and newborns. Thus, a primary health care of women, laws/ethics, and management skills were included in the core competencies of midwifery practice considering the international trend of future-oriented and extended role of a midwife. Also, newborn care and ability to cope with emergency situations were emphasized based on the midwife´s opinion. Conclusion: This study has to be developed midwifery practices and education and the standard of midwifery practice has to be stated based on that result.
The purpose of this study was to survey current status of information technology literacy in Korean teachers and to give some suggestions for the preparation of prospective teachers in Korea. To achieve the purpose, data were collected using on- and off-line surveys containing questionnaires developed by the researchers. The survey items were categorized into 11 groups such as operation capability, computer use and communication, word processing, ethics, computer fundamentals, understanding of educational IT, information instruments use, application s/w use, work processing with computer, and internet use capability. Major findings were as follows: (1) Female teachers rated their IT literacy level higher than male teachers. (2) Teachers with longer teaching experience rated their IT literacy level lower than those of shorter experience. (3) There were no signigicant differences among sex, school, job grade of teachers at the present level of literacy, but there were significant differences among sex, age, carreer, job grade, and subject matter at the expectation level except for school grade.

Purpose: This study was done to analyze the contents of nurses' ethical decision-making in four of hypothetical dilemma cases using the Cameron's Ethical Decision-Making Model of 'Value, Be, Do'. Method: Sixteen nurses who work at ICU at present or worked before, participated from April 10 to May 10 in 2002. The participants were interviewed three times each and for 40 minutes at once, with a structured questionnaire at their working places and locker rooms. The data was analyzed by a procedure of qualitative content analysis into three categories; what should I value, who should I be, what should I do. Result: 1) In consistency, most of subjects showed a unified voice in 'Value, Be, Do'. Exceptionally 8 subjects showed inconsistency such as 3 in active treatment to the incurable patients(case 1), 1 in treatment truth-telling to the terminally ill patients(case 2), 3 in conflict with uncooperative doctors(case 3), 3 in dying patients and euthanasia(case 4). Only one subject showed inconsistency in 3 dilemma cases. 2) Closing the interview procedure, the subjects evaluated Cameron's Model as it would help them build consistent value, carry right action, and cope to conflicts. Conclusion: On the basis of the results, it is recommended that nursing ethics should adopt the ethical decision-making model, and be applied to the curriculum of nursing colleges and continuing education program for clinical nurses.
Purpose - Corporate reading management requires employees capable of doing their job since employee performance is crucial to the firm's profitability. The objective of this study was to evaluate the positive effects of corporate reading management on employee management. It focuses on factors increasing employee productivity and the impacts corporate management brings about on the overall productivity of any kind of company. Research design, Data, and methodology - The current authors have investigated and conducted the qualitative content analysis (QCA) to obtain the adequate textual dataset in the prior and current literature. One of the primary benefits of doing research using content analysis is that it enables the researcher to employ a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Result - Based on the review of the prior literature, the present authors found that there are four corporate reading management solutions to improve employee performance, following those instructions - A. Increased Motivation and Productivity, B. Employee Development, C. Businesses' Objective Alignment, and D. Improved Work Environment. Conclusion - This study addressed and figured out different factors that reading corporate can apply to influence employee performance, thus increasing the company's productivity. Future research should evaluate the adverse effects businesses might face from unfavorable working environments. The research also needed to address how ethics influences employee performance.
