Background: This study aimed to identify the present level and needs of clinical dental hygienists and to present the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus model as integrated priorities. Methods: The participants of this study were dental hygienists working in dental clinics (hospitals). The final data of the 194 participants were analyzed using frequency analysis and a paired sample t-test. To analyze the need for clinical dental hygienists to perform work, the Borich priority determination formula was used. The x-y plane consisting of four quadrants was used to analyze the need using the locus for focus model, which helps to determine the priority while showing visual effects. Results: "Scaling" was the highest required level for clinical dental hygienists, and "panorama taking" was the highest present level. The priorities of educational needs were systematically and visually derived from dental hygienists who were currently working through the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus model for each task performed in the clinical field. Through the priorities of these two models, a total of 13 items appeared in the common high-level area; "oral health care (disability)," "oral health care (systemic disease)," "applying a rubber dam," "professional mechanical tooth cleaning," "root planing," "taking vital signs," "medication counseling," "wire cutting," "removing cement after removing band/bracket," "delivering bracket," "preparing mini-screw implantation," "dental insurance claim," and "patient reception." Conclusion: Based on the results, the department of dental hygiene should maintain and improve the standardized clinical practice curriculum and clinical dental hygienists' practical skills and contribute to the realization of the legal scope of dental hygienists, reflecting the requirements of clinical fields.
Recently, the grounded electrical-source airborne transient electromagnetic (GREATEM) system with high power source was introduced to achieve deeper investigation depth and to overcome high noise level. Although the GREATEM is a transient electromagnetic system using a long grounded wire as the transmitter, GREATEM data have been interpreted with 1D earth models because 2D or 3D modeling and inversion of vast airborne data are complicated and expensive to calculate. Generally, 1D inversion is subsequently applied to every survey point and combining 1D images together forms the stitched conductivity-depth image. However, the stitched models often result in abrupt variations in neighboring models. To overcome this problem, laterally constrained inversion (LCI) has been developed in inversion of ATEM data, which can yield layered sections with lateral smooth transitions. In this study, we analysed the GREATEM data through 1D numerical modeling for a curved grounded wire source. Furthermore, we developed a laterally constrained inversion scheme for continuous GREATEM data based on a layered earth model. All 1D data sets and models are inverted as one system, producing layered sections with lateral smooth transitions. Applying the developed LCI technique to the GREATEM data, it was confirmed that the laterally constrained inversion can provide laterally smooth model sections that reflect the layering of the survey area effectively.

Conventional delay-insensitive (DI) data encodings usually require 2N+1 wires for transferring N-bit. To reduce complexity and power dissipation of wires in designing a large scaled chip, an encoder and a decoder circuits, where N-bit data transfer can be peformed with only N+l wires, are proposed. These circuits are based on a quasi delay-insensitive (QDI) model and designed by using current-mode multiple valued logic (CMMVL). The effectiveness of the proposed data transfer mechanism is validated by comparisons with conventional data transfer mechanisms using dual-rail and 1-of-4 encodings through simulation at the 0.25 um CMOS technology. In general, simulation results with wire lengths of 4 mm or larger show that the CMMVL scheme significantly reduces delay-power product ($D{\ast}P$) values of the dual-rail encoding with data rate of 5 MHz or more and the 1-of-4 encoding with data rate of 18 MHz or more. In addition, simulation results using the buffer-inserted dual-rail and 1-of-4 encodings for high performance with the wire length of 10 mm and 32-bit data demonstrate that the proposed CMMVL scheme reduces the D*P values of the dual-rail encoding with data rate of 4 MHz or more and 1-of-4 encoding with data rate of 25 MHz or more by up to $57.7\%\;and\;17.9\%,$ respectively.
Esthetic brackets which resemble the color of natural teeth have been widely used. But the frictional resistance of ceramic brackets, a typical esthetic bracket, is greater than that of metal brackets. The purpose of this study was to measure the frictional resistance of the new calcium phosphate brackets (CPB) which were recently developed and to evaluate its clinical usability by comparing the frictional differences of CPB with metal brackets and metal slot inserted ceramic brackets. Methods: Experimental groups were CPB (Hyaline II, Tomy, Tokyo, Japan), metal bracket (Kosaka, Tomy, Tokyo, Japan) and metal slot inserted ceramic bracket (Clarity, 3M Unitek, Monrovia, CA, USA). All of the brackets had 0.022-inch slot sizes. The brackets were tested with $0.019\;{\times}\;0.025$ inch stainless steel wire (3M Unitek, Monrovia, CA, USA). A biologic model was used to simulate the situation which would occur during orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances. Retraction force was applied at a speed of 5 mm/min for 30 seconds. The frictional resistance was measured on a universal testing machine (Instron 4467, Instron, Norwood, MA, USA). Results: CPB showed significantly higher friction than metal brackets (p < 0.05) and lower friction than metal slot inserted ceramic brackets (p < 0.01). Conclusions: CPB can be considered to be a useful orthodontic esthetic bracket with respect to frictional resistance, as its friction is remarkably lower than that of metal slot inserted ceramic brackets.

This study fabricated a simulation facility which reduced the structure of a current distribution line to 50:1 in order to analyze the induced lightning shielding effect of a 22.9kV-Y distribution line according to ground resistance capacity, grounding locations, etc. When installing an overhead ground wire, the standard for grounding a distribution line with a current of 22.9kV-Y requires that ground resistance in common use with the neutral line be maintained less than $50\Omega$every 200m span. The reduced line for simulation had 7 electric poles and induced lightning was applied to the ground plane 2m apart from the line in a direction perpendicular to it using an impulse generator. If induced voltage occurred in the line and induced current flowed through the line due to the applied current, the induced voltage and current of the 'A' phase were measured respectively using an oscilloscope. When all 7 electric poles were grounded with a ground resistance of less than $50\Omega$ respectively, the combined resistance of the line was $7.4\Omega$. When an average current of 230A was applied, the average induced voltage and current measured were 1,052V and 13.8A, respectively. Under the same conditions, when the number of grounding locations was reduced, the combined resistance as well as induced voltage and current showed a tendency to increase. When all 7 electric poles were grounded with a ground resistance of less than $100\Omega$, the combined resistance of the line was $14.9\Omega$. When an average current of 236A was applied, the average induced voltage and current of the 'A' phase calculated were 1,068V and 15.6A, respectively. That is, in this case, only the combined resistance was greater than when all 7 electrical poles were grounded, and the induced voltage and current were reduced. Therefore, it is thought that even though ground resistance is slightly higher under a construction environment with the same conditions, it is advantageous to ground all electric poles to ensure system safety.
Yangkyuksanhwa-Tang (YKSH), consisting of nine different herbs, is commonly used in Soyangin-type individuals with stroke, based on the Sasang Constitution Theory in Korea. However, no evidence has yet confirmed a beneficial effect of YKSH in ischemic stroke treatment. In this study, we investigated the effects of YKSH on ischemic brain injury in a mouse model of cerebral ischemia. Focal cerebral ischemia in mice was induced by photothrombosis, and behavioral recovery was evaluated. Infarct volume, inflammation, and newly generated cells were evaluated by histology and immunochemistry. YKSH treatment resulted in a significant recovery from the motor impairments induced by focal cerebral ischemia, as determined with wire grip and rotarod tests. YKSH treatment also decreased the infarct volume and the number of cells positive for tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$ and myeloperoxidase when compared with a vehicle-treated control group. By contrast, YKSH treatment considerably increased the number of cells positive for glial fibrillary acidic protein and ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1, as well as the number of cells doubly positive for Ki67/doublecortin when compared with the vehicle-treated group. These results suggest that YKSH treatment attenuated the infarct size by anti-inflammatory action, astrocyte and microglia activation, and neuronal proliferation, thereby facilitating neurofunctional recovery from a cerebral ischemic assault. YKSH could therefore be a potential treatment for neurofunctional restoration of the injured brains of patients with stroke.
A model experiment has been performed to get the heat transfer coefficient on the soil surface in the closed ecosystem. The heat flux on the soil surface was measured and the heat transfer coefficient was derived in the following two cases with 5-stepped control of inside air current speed. One case was that heat flowed from air to soil and the other case was that heat flowed from soil to air. Three dimensional CFD model has been set to simulate thermal environment in the closed ecosystem including soil layers. The standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model of the CFD program was chosen for turbulence model and heating wire buried in the soil layers was set as heat source option to simulate the case when the temperature of soil surface was higher than that of inside air in the closed ecosystem. Between one case that heat flowed from air to soil and the other case that heat flowed from soil to air, there were big differences in the temperature distribution of soil layers and the heat transfer coefficient of the soil surface. The increasing rate of heat transfer coefficient on each case according to the increase of inside air current speed was similar to each other and it respectively increased linearly. But the heat transfer coefficient on the case that heat flowed from soil to air was much bigger than that of the other case. The model was validated by comparing simulated values of CFD model with measured values of the model experiment. Simulated and measured temperature of inside air and soil layers, and heat transfer coefficient of the soil surface were well accorded and the range of corrected $R^2$ was 0.664 to 0.875. The developed CFD model was well simulated in parts of the temperature of inside air and soil layers, the distribution of the inside air current speed, and heat transfer coefficient of the soil surface were able to be quantitatively analyzed by using this model. Therefore, the model would be applied and used for analysis of heat transfer coefficient between air and surface in various agricultural facilities.

Qualification model(QM) of main payloads including concentrating photovoltaic system using fresnel lens, heating wire cutting type shockless holding and release mechanism, and MEMS-based solid propellant thruster have been developed for the STEP Cube Lab.(Cube Laboratory for Space Technology Experimental Project), which is a pico-class satellite for verification of core space technologies. In this study, we have verified structural safety and functionality of the developed payloads under a qualification temperature range through the QM thermal vacuum test. Additionally, a reliability of thermal model of the payloads has been confirmed by performing a thermal correlation based on the thermal balance test results.
With the upcoming u-healthcare era, a way of measurement for vital sign monitoring of cardiac patients is changing as well. In existing measurement of cardiac patients, various wire in ECG measuring equipment has caused much discomfort and inconvenience. In order to decrease the problem, we are developing an efficient measurement of ECG signal using Wireless sensor network. In this paper, we present a way to reduce amount of data by transmitting ECG data collected from radio electrocardiogram sensor based on Zigbee after calculating cardiac rate. And in order to control the error which can be caused by the different ECG signal intensity each individual can has, we also suggest an adaptive pulse measurement model which can measure heart rate with correcting according to different ECG intensity. To verify the suggested model, sensor application was developed and the data was acquired in TinyOS 2.0 environment and the adaptive pulse measurement model was evaluated through the data from the experiments.
At present trend 3D Printing technology has been using more efficiently than conventional subtractive manufacturing method in various medical fields, in particular this technology superior in saving production time, cost and process than conventional. Especially in orthopedics, an attractive attention has been paid by adopting this technology because of improving operation, operation accuracy, and reducing the patient's pain. Though 3D printing technology has enormous applications still in some hospitals have not been using due to having the problem of technical utilization of hardware, software & chiefly financial availability and etc. In order to solve these problems by reducing the cost and time, we have used CT images in pre-operative planning by directly making the pelvic fracture model with open source DICOM viewer and STL file conversion program, assembly 3D printer of FDM wire additive manufacturing. After having the customized bone model of six patients who underwent unstable pelvic fracture surgery, we have operated our system in orthopedic section of University Hospital through the clinician. Later, we have received better reviews and comments on utilization availability, results, and precision and now our system considered to be useful in surgical planning.
