Robotized filament winding technology involves a robot that winds a roving impregnated by resin on a die along the directions of stresses to which the work-piece is submitted in applications. The robot moves a deposition head along a winding trajectory in order to deposit roving. The trajectory planning is a very critical aspect of robotized filament winding technology, since it is responsible for both the tension constancy and the winding time. The present work shows two original rules to plan the winding trajectory of structural parts, whose shape is obtained by sweeping a full section around a 3D curve that must be closed and not crossing in order to assure a continuous winding. The first rule plans the winding trajectory by approximating the part 3D shape with straight lines; it is called the discretized rule. The second rule defines the winding trajectory simply by offsetting a 3D curve that reproduces the part 3D shape, of a defined distance; it is called the offset rule. The two rules have been compared in terms of roving tension and winding time. The present work shows how the offset rule enables achievement of both the required aims: to manufacture parts of high structural performances by keeping the tension on the roving near to the nominal value and to markedly decrease the winding time. This is the first step towards the optimization of the robotized filament winding technology.
A transformer type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is one of the fault current limiters which have been proposed to reduce the fault current in the transmission lines. This paper proposes the new circuit configuration of a transformer type SFCL and also investigates the operating characteristics of the transformer type SFCL containig the resistor in the tertiary winding. The proposed SFCL contains the resistor in the tertiary winding. The newly inserted resistor can divert the power which the High-Tc superconducting has to bear. Because the resistor in the tertiary winding relieves the power of the High-Tc superconducting, it is possible that the proposed transformer type SFCL can decrease the more larger fault current than the conventional SFCL with the same High-Tc superconducting. And the cost of the proposed transformer type SFCL can be reduced.
A strong need to improve the quality of electric power is increased because of increasing use of the sensitive and small-sized electronic devices. The surges on the low-voltage ac power lines are induced by nearby lightning return strokes, and the facilities for HA, OA, FA, ME as well as computer are easily damaged by high-voltage transients. The behaviors of lightning surge characteristics transferred from the primary winding to the secondary winding in distribution transformers using a Marx generator were experimentally investigated. The transfer characteristics of lightning surge associated with a custom service ground of secondary side were also examined.
Outdoor insulation of overhead distribution lines with wood, concrete and steel pole has been safety under various environmental conditions including contamination, moisture condensation, rain and lightning overvoltages. In this paper introduce to FRP technology of the power distribution single pole. FRP pole has been used very much as high strength material for insulators because of its high strength and good insulation properties. In addition, FRP pole was made by filament winding method. In a filament winding process, a band of continuous resin-impregnated rovings or monofilaments is wrapped around a rotating mandrel and cured to produce axisymmetric hollow parts.
Glow corona is a kind of streamer-free corona that can suppress upward leaders in transmission lines. Thus, it has good application potential in lightning protection. This paper investigates its corona characteristics. The suppression characteristic of glow corona on streamer is studied in air gap under negative DC voltage by wrapping thin wires on the electrode. The effect of thin wire winding patterns on the gap breakdown voltage is analyzed. Results are considered to be attributed to the inception condition of glow corona. Thus an inception test of glow corona is also conducted, and the inception voltage is obtained. Results show that the inception voltage decreases with short winding pitch. Thus an investigation on the inception of glow corona influenced by thin wire is conducted, and an influential factor is proposed to evaluate the influence. The inception regular of thin wire glow corona presented in this paper has certain reference value for the application of glow corona in transmission lines.
A 100 〔HP〕 rated synchronous motor with superconducting rotating field winding has been designed based on the formulated equations established from 2 dimensional magnetic field distributions in a cylindrical coordinate The cross-section was drawn based on calculated design results via Fortran program and then modeled with FEM (Finite Element Method) to investigate the machine performances. First of all, the magnetic field distributions are analysed in many ways according to the field directions and the armature currents. Especially after the rotating Held winding is arranged with BSCCO-2223 high-temperature superconducting(HTS) pancake coils, the exerted magnetic field normally on the HTS tape is calculated through FEM. And the machine output power is calculated according to the torque ang1es which lie between the field and the armature main flux lines. Moreover, this Paper includes the eddy-current loss variations of a copper damper located between the field and the armature coils and design considerations of the 100 HP HTS motor utilizing ferro-magnetic material.
This paper presents the countermeasure to present the main transformer of distribution substation from deteriorating and failing due to repeated magnetic force of the transformer winding by ground fault current in 22.9kV multi grounded distribution system. The Winding strength to the short circuit current is designed to be endurable to the stress of over current. But this design is related to the manufactures. In this paper we examine the application of shunt reactor to the neutral point of the low side of the transformer to reduce fault current due to the fault in the distribution lines we have analysed the fault characteristics of the system and calculated the optimum ohmic values of the neutral reactor.
This paper presents leakage magnetic field and leakage inductance calculations in current transformer by means of 3-D Integral methods. From the distribution diagram of leakage magnetic flux to be analyzed using program called TRACAL 3, ti confirms a parallel to the winding axis direction of the leakage flux lines in the air gap between the windings. The leakage inductances L$\sub$r1/ and L$\sub$r2/ of the primary and secondary winding were calculated, their values are 4.23 MH and 0.49 mH, respectively. They are also similar to the measured values of he leakage inductances of the experimental verification, 4.06 mH and 0.47 mH.
The electric quality of train is represented by voltage and current harmonics at PT(Ratio 25,000/15/[V]) which is located between pantograph and primary winding of train transformer. In this paper, voltage and current harmonics were measured on the test EMU(electric multiple unit)train with maximum speed of 180km/h in existing railway lines(chungbuk, Taeback, Honam). As a results of test, it is found that the electric quality of train depends on the mostly operation conditions which is accelerating mode and braking mode on each sections. Voltage THD is above all 3[%] and current harmonics is monitored from lowest Harmonic to highest Harmonic in case of accelerating mode. But, highest current harmonics is not monitored in case of breaking mode. The results in this paper can help to stabilize the power device and power converter of the test EMU train.
