  • A GFRP based composite blade was developed for a 2MW wind energy conversion system of type class IIA. The blade sectional geometry was designed to have a general shell-spar and shear web structure. The load cases specified in the IEC61400-1 international specification were considered. For withstanding all relevant extreme loads, the structural analysis for the complete blade was performed using a commercial FEM code. The static load carrying capacity, blade tip deflection and natural frequencies were evaluated to satisfy the strength and stability requirements in accordance with the IEC61400-1 and GL Regulations. The prototype blade was passed the structural proof test for GL certification.

  • GFRP based composite rotor blades were developed for 750kW & 2MW wind turbines. The blade sectional geometry was designed to have a general shell-spar and shear web structure. For verifying the structural safety under all relevant extreme loads specified in the GL guidelines, the structural analysis of the rotor blades was performed using commercial FEM codes. The static load carrying capacity, blade tip deflections and natural frequencies were evaluated to satisfy the strength and stability requirements. Full-scale proof tests of rotor blades were carried out with optical fiber sensors for real-time condition monitoring. Finally, the prototype of each rotor blade passed all proof tests for GL certification.

  • Special considerations on the design of liquid storage tanks should be taken into account for seismic and wind loads. But Korean industrial standard KS B 6225 does not specify detailed guidelines for a design. It is therefore necessary to improve design guidelines for a seismic and wind-proof design in KS B 6225. The purpose of this study is provide a basis for the development of improved seismic and wind-proof design procedures, especially about seismic and wind loads.

  • This thesis is about the study of inverter terminal boxes in a explosion proof type exhaust fan that can control wind volume and operating time. In Korea, there is no ventilator to adjust the amount of wind and operating time when working in poor conditions. The purpose of the project is to create a explosion terminal box that can control the operating time and wind speed of a suitable explosion ventilator in hazardous environments. The two explosion-proof switches allow the operation time to be driven 1 hour, 3 hours and continuous time, and the speed of the induction motor rotation was set in 3 stages at 2000 rpm, 2600 rpm and 3000 rpm to control the volume. The tested motor used a half-horsepower barrier three-phase induction motor and a full-bridge inverter to set the desired flow rate and operating time.

  • To develop the comfortable pesticid-proof clothes, wearing trials for 7 types of existing pesticide-proof clothes were done measuring skin temperature, pulse rate, humidity and temperature of inside clothing and subjective feeling such as thermal, humid and comfort sensations at $28{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, $75{\pm}5\%$ RH, 2.3 m/sec wind speed. (Experiment 1). On the base of above results, wearing trials of 6 types of new pesticide-proof clothes and 3 types of pesticide-proof clothes as control group were done with the same method as experiment 1. (Experiment 2). The results obtained were as follows 1. Heat stress was lower in newly designed pesticide-proof clothes with mesh running shirts. 2. For the body temperature regulation, it was confirmed that 6 types of new pesticide-proof clothes made of microporous fabric were better than the others.

  • This study is the high contraction processing conditions set by the method of the CPB process. And the ultimate goal of this study is the high contraction of the CPB processing test method that can solve the problems of the high-contraction fabric processing method of the current jet dyeing machine. Non-coating process(CPB process) developed by the expression of a soft touch, light weight, functional and to develop excellent breathable nylon fabric. The nylon fabrics established the optimum processing conditions through the high contraction of the various test conditions, the CPB system.(The benzyl alcohol was used as the main constrictor.) At this time, the warp and weft contraction of nylon fabric was about 20%. And it established the constrictor concentration, the treatment temperature, time of a variety of tests. Also non-coating process(CPB process) can develop soft touch, lightweight, excellent air permeability. As a result, we developed a high contraction nylon fabric having a uniform surface. Manufactured fabric is used for Wind-proof and Down-proof.

  • Weather Strip(W/S) is a rubber part to proof water, sound and dust for opening and shutting devices including vehicle doors. And it requires high dimension precision and durability to proof water, noise, vibration and etc. But ironically it itself makes some wind noise because of some protuberance with glasses. The air flow analysis of door part of vehicle makes it possible to calculate and find out the cause of wind noise. In previous analysis, we focus on the numerical air flow analysis of the automobile side part. We do 2D-C.F.D first and 3D second. Through simulations, we can calculate the amount of sound pressure level at the glass run and find out the effects of glass run to make wind noise. Finally we can improve shape of glass run to reduce wind noise although it is small amounts of sound pressure reduction compared with total vehicle noise level.

  • The objective of this research lies in the effect of installation parameters influencing on the wind proof performance of the coastal forest for damage prevention. The dissipation ratio of incident wind power is developed as an assessment index to make a lumped parameter study possible. From the real field data of East, West, and South Sea bounded on the Korean peninsula, single and double storied forests were modeled in three-dimensional shape with computer aided design, and so was done the artificial structures such as wind break, sand accumulating fence, and sand dune, etc With a commercial code ANSYS-CFX, the computational result from the comparison of dissipation ratio between single and double storied forest shows the effect of composition, and also the installation effect is investigated for artificial structures with optimal dimension of distance.

  • After rapid running is begun in domestic, problem by the train gust that was not considered at existent train running appeared. If the High-Speed railway business speed rises by 350km/h in the future, is going to become more big problem. This study conducts an experiment that measure in local about KTX train beside Gyeong-Bu High speed railroad track about aerodynamics effect that happen by passage of train and analyzed. In case KTX II runs with the 350km/h speed, forecasted effect that get in the simple vertical surfaces parallel to tracks according to distance from rail center. Compared construction size with structural analysis in case do not consider with case that consider the train gust about sound proof walls representatively. As a result, proposed wind load standard that apply at sound proof walls design.
