양식산 및 천연산 고등어근육의 일반성분과 지질성분 비교 (Comparative Analysis of Proximate Compositions and Lipid Component in Cultured and Wild Mackerel Scomber japonicus Muscles)

  • Proximate compositions and fatty acid profiles of cultured and wild mackerel (Scomber japonicus) muscles were compared. Protein content ranged from approximately 16% to 18% and was higher in wild fish than in cultured ones. Lipid content was between two to four times higher in large and small cultured fish (20.1-20.5%) compared with same sized wild fish. The prominent non-polar lipid (NL) class in fish muscles was triglyceride, and additionally, free sterol was among the prominent NL classes in wild fish muscles. Prominent phospholipid (PL) classes in cultured and wild fish muscles were phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine, with the former being higher in cultured fish and the latter higher in wild fish. Prominent fatty acids of total lipid were 16:0, 18:1n-9, 22:6n-3 (docosahexaenoic acid, DHA), 20:5n-3 (eicosapentaenoic acid, EPA), 16:1n-7, 18:0 and 14:0, while 18:2n-6 was among the prominent fatty acids in cultured fish. The n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA, DHA+EPA) content (in mg/100 g of muscle tissue) was higher in cultured fish (2,711 mg in large fish and 2,572 mg in small fish) than in wild fish (2,431 mg in large fish and 1,398 mg in small fish). In conclusion, we have been able to demonstrate that cultured mackerel could also be a good sources of n-3 PUFA, such as DHA and EPA.

음향 텔레메트리 기법을 이용한 자연산과 양식산 감성돔의 행동특성 비교 (Comparison of behavior characteristics between wild and cultured black seabream Acanthopagrus schlegeli using acoustic telemetry)

  • Acoustic telemetry technique is one of useful tools to get behavioral information of the free-swimming fish. In this study, we conducted acoustic telemetry using coded acoustic transmitters to compare behavior characteristics between wild and cultured black seabream Acanthopagrus schlegeli, one of target species to promote resource in the marine ranching area. Two wild fish and five cultured fish were released in the marine ranching area after tagging surgically. Three of cultured fish were domesticated using the remote acoustic conditioning system for 3 weeks before being released. Two wild fish stayed at the released point for 2 hours and 9 days, respectively. One of wild fish was found about 10.8km away from the released point after 5 months. Two cultured fish stayed at the released point for 6 days and 75 days, respectively. One of acoustic conditioned fish stayed at the released point for 131 days and then was found about 10.1km away from the released point after 25 days. Others stayed at the released point during this study period(159 days).

자연산 어류와 양식산 어류 간의 가격 경합성 분석 (Analyzing Price Interactions between Wild Caught Fish and Farmed Fish on the Korean Seafood Market)

  • This study is aimed to estimate price interactions between wild caught fish and farmed fish on the Korean seafood market, using multivariate cointegration analysis. Major commercially important four wild caught fish (chub mackerel, hairtail, yellow croaker and spanish mackerel) and two farmed fish(oliver flounder and black rockfish) are selected as analytical target fish species. Between 2000 and 2013, monthly production and price data are used in this study. The results of cointegration test showed that there would be a long-term equilibrium relationship among 4 wild caught fish and 2 farmed fish. However, the results of exclusion test indicated that farmed fish might not contribute significantly to the long-run relationship, suggesting that farmed fish might be only a weak substitute for wild caught fish, but no significant interaction could be found.

  • 자연산어류의 질병 감염 실태를 파악하기 위하여 2006년 6월에 남해안 해역에서 트롤에 의하여 어획된 개체 중 13 종 176 개체의 어류와 1 종 15개체의 새우류 등 총 191 개체의 자연산어류에 대한 바이러스성 및 세균성 질병에 대한 모니터링을 실시하였다. 조사 결과 우리나라 양식 어류의 주요 질병과 관련한 바이러스성 병원체의 존재는 확인되지 않았다. 시료 6 개체에서 세균이 분리되어 확인한 결과 Pseudomonas속 세균 5 균주와 Proteus속 세균 1균주가 확인되었으나 양식 어류의 폐사와 관련한 세균군은 아닌 것으로 판단되며, 양식산어류의 질병 발생에 대한 관련성을 밝히기 위하여 자연산어류에 대한 더 많은 조사가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

자연산 어류의 시장 통합성 분석 (Analyzing Market Integration of Wild Caught Fish Species)

  • This study is aimed to estimate market integration of wild caught fish species on the Korean market, using both multivariate and bivariate cointegration analysis. For the analysis of market integration between wild caught fish species, major four fish species those are most popular fish in the market and caught by the large purse seine fishery-chub mackerel, jack mackerel, hairtail and spanish mackerel-were selected as analytical target fish species. And their real monthly price data from January 2000 to December 2011 were used in the analysis. The results of the multivariate cointegration test for four wild caught fish species showed that there would be long-term equilibrium relationships among prices of four wild caught fish species, and consequently, the markets for wild caught fish species were estimated to be integrated. The results of exclusion test and bivariate cointegration test also supported that there would be a clear evidence to suggest that all target wild caught fish species were cointegrated each other.

Comparison of Lipid Classes and Fatty Acid Compositions among Eight Species of Wild and Cultured Seawater Fishes

  • Lipid classes and fatty acid compositions of eight species of wild and cultured seawater fish in Korea were investigated. Total lipid (TL) contents of wild and cultured fish were $2.64\pm1.88\%$ and $5.42\pm1.76\%$, respectively, except for rockfish and striped beakperch. Non-polar lipids (NL) in all fish samples comprised approximately $84\%$ of the TL content. The proportion equation of NL content to TL content was y=0.9296x-0.4468 $(R^2=0.98l2, p<0.001)$. The most abundant NL class was triglyceride. The prominent fatty acids in all fish samples were 16: 0, 18: 1(n-9), 22 : 6(n-3) (docosahexaenoic acid, DHA), 16: 1(n-7), 20 : 5 (n-3) (eicosapentaenoic acid, EPA), 18 : 0 and 18 : 1(n-7). The polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) group was the richest among the total fatty acids (TFA). DHA and EPA were comprised of approximately $85\%$ of n-3 PUFA. There was a positive correlation between TFA content and n-3 PUFA content; y=0.292x-0.0055 $(R^2=0.9349, p<0.001)$. The n-3 PUFA content of the cultured fish was approximately twice as much as that of the wild fish. Therefore, cultured fish were proven to provide better sources of n-3 PUFA if compared to wild fish.

자연산 및 양식산 볼락, Sebastes inermis의 장내세균총 및 장내세균의 약제내성 비교 (Bacterial flora and antibiotics resistance of intestinal bacteria in the wild and cultured black rockfish, Sebastes inermis)

  • 볼락은 산업적 잠재가치가 높은 어종으로 각광받으면서 양식 가능성에 대한 연구가 일부 진행되어 왔으나, 장내세균에 대한 연구는 미미한 실정이었다. 본 연구에서는 전남 돌산도 연안에서 채집된 자연산 볼락과 양식산 볼락의 장내세균총의 분포와 이들 세균들의 약제 감수성에 대하여 조사하였다. 두 분류의 볼락에서 분리된 균주의 16S rDNA 염기를 바탕으로 장내세균을 동정한 결과, 양식산 볼락의 장내에서는 Photobacterium group, Acinetobacter group과 marine sediment bacteria group이 우점하고 있었고, 자연산 볼락의 장내에서는 Photobacterium group Acinetobacter group, Bacillus group, Shewanella group, Staphylococcus group 및 marine sediment bacteria group이 우점하고 있었다. 자연산과 양식산 볼락의 장내세균의 약제 감수성 결과로는 본 연구에서 사용된 9종의 항균제 중 oxytetracycline와 oxolinic acid는 자연산과 양식산이 비슷한 수준의 감수성 나타냈으나, flumequine, erythromycin, norfloxacin, gentamycin, ofloxacin, enrofloxacin 및 ciprofloxacin은 평균 저지대에서 양식산 볼락의 장내세균이 자연산 볼락의 장내세균 보다 약간 낮은 감수성을 보였으나, 자연산 볼락의 장내세균 또한 감수성 시험 대조균주로 사용한 E. coli ATCC9637 보다 현저하게 낮은 감수성을 보였다. 이는 양식현장에서 사용되고 있는 항균물질이 자연 서식 어류생물군의 장내 세균에도 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the nutrition composition and physiological changes, and to evaluate the food quality of live fish in cultured and wild fishes which have been kept in an aquarium tank. The moisture and lipid content of wild and cultured fishes when kept in an aquarium tank for seven-days storage was found to be lower than those of the initial stage storage(zero day). The breaking strength was also rapidly decreased in all of live fishes tested in this study as the periods of storage extended. The protein content did not differ significantly. However, the content of cortisol, which is a indicator indicating a stress reaction in tissues, was apt to increasing as the periods of storage extended. The cortisol content of wild fishes were higher than those of cultured fishes. On the other hand, the activity of activities of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST), which is also a indicator indicating a stress reaction, were not changed in the serum of wild and cultured fish, suggesting the ALT and AST activity dose not directly related with a healthy loss originated from stress. The death ratio of wild fishes were higher than cultured ones due to limited activity and stress during the storage in a aquarium tank.

통영연근해역 양식산 및 자연산 어류 중의 미량금속 함량 및 안전성 평가 (Trace Metal Contents in Cultured and Wild fishes from the Coastal Area of Tongyeoung, Korea and their Safely Evaluations)

  • 2003년 3월부터 2004변 2월까지 통영 인근 연안에 서식하고 있는 양식산 및 자연산 어류의 부위별 미량금속의 함량을 분석하였다. 수은은 Cold-amalgam법에 의하여 직접 측정하없고,납,카드뮴,비소,구리,크롬, 아연, 망간 등은 습식분해 후 ICP 및 AAS로 분석하였다. 미량금속별로는 수은이 양식산에서 0.031, 자연산이 0.047,납은 0.321, 0.407, 카드뮴은 0.048, 0.063, 비소는 1.006, 1.132, 구리는 0.467, 0.506, 크롬은 0.233, 0.293, 아연은 9.69, 12.20, 망간은 0.798, 0.624 mg/kg으로 각각 분석되었다. 대부분의 미량금속은 망간을 제외하고 자연산이 높은 값을 나타내고 있었다. 부위별로는 수은, 납, 카드뮴, 구리 및 아연 등은 비장에서 높은 함량을 보였고, 비소는 쓸개와 간에서, 크롬은 껍질에서, 망간은 비장과 간에서 높은 함량을 나타내었다. 통영연근해 어류 중의 미량금속 함량은 우리나라의 중금속 허용기준치 및 미국의 중금속 권고치를 초과하지 않았으며 자연함유량 수준인 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 우리나라 국민이 어류를 통하여 섭취하는 납, 수은, 카드뮴 등의 미량금속 주간 섭취량이 FAO/WHO에서 미량 금속 안전성 평가를 위하여 제시한 PTWI $6.0\∼13.0\%$로 조사되었다.

Modelling of Swimming Ability Limits for Marine Fish

  • The total energy of fish movement and the maximum burst swimming speed were estimated and formulated in accordance with body length and water temperature for several species in fisheries by empirical methods and also by using published results. Under the assumption of swimming energy reserve of a fish at the initial rest state, the swimming endurance of fish with different body lengths, swimming speeds and angular velocity was calculated using the relevant equations under similar conditions in tank experiments as well as natural conditions in field. Relative swimming energy efficiency or the transition swimming speed between red and white muscle for energy consumption was represented as a trigonometric function of swimming speed ratio. Therefore, this model does closely approach the actual swimming abilities and their limits especially in relation to the fishing gear operation and allow for the greater vitality of the wild fish in the fields.
