비모수 회귀분석을 이용한 실시간 통행시간 예측 기법 개발 및 평가 (서울시 버스를 중심으로) (Development and Evaluation of Real-time Travel Time Forecasting Model: Nonparametric Regression Analysis for the Seoul Transit System)

  • 2004년 7월, 서울시는 대중교통 이용률을 높이고, 여러 교통 문제를 해소 또는 완화하기 위해 버스 중심의 대중교통체계로 대대적인 개편을 단행하였다. 중앙버스전용차로제가 확대 시행되었고, 광역, 간선. 지선 순환의 네 가지 형태로 노선을 구분. 정비하였으며, 통합거리비례요금제 방식을 도입하였다. 이와 함께 BMS(Bus Management System)의 구축으로 서울시 버스 시스템 전반에 대한 관리 및 제어가 가능해 짐으로써 버스 이용자들에게 보다 신속, 정확하게 실시간 정보를 제공할 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 서울시의 새로운 대중교통체계에 맞추어. 선행연구를 통해 정립된 최적경로 탐색기법들을 적용하여 대중교통 최적경로를 산출하고, 기존의 여러 통행시간예측모형 비교를 통해 선정된 비모수 회귀분석 기법을 적용하여 주간선 및 보조간선 도로망에서의 대중교통 데이터에 기초한 통행시간 예측 응용 프로그램을 구현하였다. 그리고 구현된 프로그램의 정확성과 신속성 평가를 통해 실제 시스템에서의 적용가능성과 그 방안들을 제시하였다.

대구지역의 환경친화적 도시계획을 위한 도시환경기후지도 작성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Urban Environmental Climate Mapping Method for Sustainable Urban Planning in Daegu)

  • To preserve atmospheric environment of urban areas, it needs to create urban space considering air pollution sources and natural and geographical properties such as wind circulation. According to this study could examine climate and environmental characteristics of Daegu and accordingly suggest a climate map in urban environment and an "advice map" in urban planning. The urban area(area paved with asphalt and concrete) of Daegu has increased by more than five times since 1960. In addition, the analysis of thermal environment through satellite data shows that the surface temperature between a place paved with artificial structures and a farmland shows $10{\sim}20^{\circ}C$ difference during the daytime in the summer. Regarding the parks inhibiting the heat island of a city have the small area of trees, and the road paved with concrete is wide so that they hardly serve as the source of heat absorption. As Apsan is located to the south of Daegu and Palgonsan to the north and Daegu has east high west low type, mountain wind from mountains in the south and north passes a city and delivers heat and air pollutions at night. In the west of Daegue, there is the poorest environment and industrial facilities and environmental basic facilities are mostly located, so large residential complexes that are being built around the industrial facilities as if they set up a folding screen and therefore the poor environment is increasingly worse.

안전한 군용 중장비 수송을 위한 차선 및 차량 진행 방향 인식 시스템 개발 - 칼만 필터와 신경망을 기반으로 - (Development of Lane and Vehicle Headway Direction Recognition System for Military Heavy Equipment's Safe Transport - Based on Kalman Filter and Neural Network -)

  • In military transportation, the use of wide trailer for transporting the large and heavy weight equipments such as tank, armoured vehicle, and mobile gunnery is quite common. So, the vulnerability of causing traffic accidents for these wide military trailer to bump or collide with another car in adjacent lane is very high due to its broad width in excess of its own lane's width. Also, the possibility of these strayed accidents can be increased especially by the careless driver. In this paper, the recognition system of lane and vehicle headway direction is developed to detect the possible collision and warn the driver to prevent the fatal accident. In the system development, Kalman filtering is used first to extract the border of driving lane from the video images supplied by the CCD camera attached to the vehicle and the driving lane detection is completed with regression analysis. Next, the vehicle headway direction is recognized by using neural network scheme with the extracted parameters of the detected driving lane feature. The practical experiments for the developed system are also carried out in the real traffic road of Seoul city area and the results show us the more than 90% accuracy in recognizing the driving lane and vehicle headway direction.

Topology and geometry optimization of different types of domes using ECBO

  • Domes are architectural and elegant structures which cover a vast area with no interrupting columns in the middle, and with suitable shapes can be also economical. Domes are built in a wide variety of forms and specialized terms are available to describe them. According to their form, domes are given special names such as network, lamella, Schwedler, ribbed, and geodesic domes. In this paper, an optimum topology design algorithm is performed using the enhanced colliding bodies optimization (ECBO) method. The network, lamella, ribbed and Schwedler domes are studied to determine the optimum number of rings, the optimum height of crown and tubular sections of these domes. The minimum volume of each dome is taken as the objective function. A simple procedure is defined to determine the dome structures configurations. This procedure includes calculating the joint coordinates and element constructions. The design constraints are implemented according to the provision of LRFD-AISC (Load and Resistance Factor Design-American Institute of Steel Constitution). The wind loading act on domes according to ASCE 7-05 (American Society of Civil Engineers). This paper will explore the efficiency of various type of domes and compare them at the first stage to investigate the performance of these domes under different kind of loading. At the second stage the wind load on optimum design of domes are investigated for Schwedler dome. Optimization process is performed via ECBO algorithm to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the ECBO in creating optimal design for domes.

부산지역 강하먼지와 불용성 성분의 침적량에 관한 연구 (A Study on Bulk Deposition Flux of Dustfall and Insoluble Components in Pusan, Korea)

  • Dustfall particles were collected by the modified American dust jar (wide inlet bottle type) at 6 sampling sites in Pusan area from March, 1999 to February, 2000. Thirteen chemical species (Al, Ca, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Si, and Zn) were analyzed by AAS and ICP. The purposes of this study were to estimate qualitatively various bulk deposition flux of dustfall and insoluble components by applying regional and seasonal distribution. Dustfall amount of regional variations were found in order of coastal zone, industrial zone, commercial zone, agricultural zone and residential zone, and seasonal total dustfall had higher concentrations during spring for 6.741 ton/${km}^2$/season, lower concentrations during summer for 1.989 ton/${km}^2$/season, and annual total concentration was 17.742 ton/${km}^2$/year. The regional distributions of enrichment factor show well-defined anthropogenic metals (Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn) at industrial and agricultural zone, and contribution rate of soil particles were found in order of summer, fall, winter and spring. Factor loading effects of chemical composition of dustfall were found in order of road traffic emission source and combustion processed source, industrial activity source, soil source and marine source.

  • Recently construction work in Korea, demands of favorable condition ground had been increased with industrialization acceleration and economic growth. However, because of limited land space, it was so hard to ensure favorable condition grounds that construction work proceeds until soft ground area on plans of road, railroad and industrial complex. In this case, soft ground improvement was required such as a stone column method. Stone column method, making a compaction pile using crushed stone, is a soft ground improvement method. However, stone column method is difficult to apply to the ground which is not mobilized enough lateral confine pressure because no bulging failure resistance. Hence, in present study, evaluates the stone columns reinforced by geogrid for settlement reduction and wide range of application of stone columns. Triaxial compression tests were conducted for evaluation which is about behavior characteristics of stone column on replacement rate. Then, 3-dimensional numerical analysis were conducted for application of stone column reinforced by geogrid as evaluate behavior characteristics and settlement reduction effect of stone column reinforced by geogrid on reinforcing depth change of geogrid.

도로변 공동주택의 층별 소음보정계수 산정에 관한 연구 (A study on the Calculation of Noise Correction Coefficient on each floor for the estimation on the roadside traffic noise around the Apartment Building)

  • Actually, prediction formula of road traffic noise for EIA(Environmental Impact Assessment) has been used that proposed by National Institute of Environmental Research in 1999. The prediction formula, however, was calculated predicted noise level according to noise level producing on first floor, then needs to correct noise level at each floor in the case of apartment building. The investigation was carried out to calculate the correction coefficient for commonly using in EIA of large scaled apartment development areas. The noised level at each floor were measured from August 2001 to March 2002 at 31 investigation points of large scaled apartment development area in national wide. Measured data were divided and treated with 4 types as 3th floor, 5th floor, 7th floor and 10th floor and then the correction coefficients of each floor were calculated using by correlation formula according to each floor.

금호강 유역의 환경특성이 하천수질에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Environmental Characteristics in the Geumho River Watershed on Stream Water Quality)

  • 최근 물환경에 관련된 광범위한 문제들을 해결하기 위한 대안으로 유역관리의 관심이 증대되고있는 시점에서, 본 연구는 금호강 유역을 모니터링하기 위한 환경정보의 구축과 소유역 단위의 환경특성이 하천 수질에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 소유역 단위의 환경특성을 분석하기 위한 GIS 데이터베이스는 축척 1:25,000의 지형도, 정밀토양도, 토지이용도, 10m 해상도의 DEM, 도로망도, 수계망도, Landsat TM 영상에서 산출된 식생지수(NDVI), 강우량, 그리고 RUSLE 모형에 의한 토양유실량으로 구성되었다. 소유역 단위의 환경특성과 하천 수질간의 상호관련성을 분석한 결과에 따르면, 유역의 도시화 또는 산업화에 관련된 주거 상업지역, 공업지역, 도로지역에 관련된 변수들은 BOD, COD, SS, T-N, T-P의 수질자료와 음(-)의 상관성을 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. 이와는 달리, 자연환경상태와 관련된 산림피복과 식생상태 변수들은 수질자료와 양(+)의 상관성을 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나, 농업적 토지이용과 농약 및 비료사용량, 토양유실량은 수질자료와 유의한 상관성을 가지지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

확정론적 모의기법에 의한 도시유출 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on urban runoff by deter ministic simulation techniques.)

  • 본 연구는 확정론적 모의기법 중 영국도로시험연구소에서 개발한 R.R.L법을 포장 지역이 넓은 인천에 위치한 간석동 아파트에 적용하여 그 실용성을 검토하였다. 인천지방의 전체적이고 합리적인 결과를 얻기 위하여 과거 28년간 누가우량 곡선에서 얻은 10mm 이상 되는 강우 450개를 5분 간격으로 읽어 확률빈도통계인 HUFF의 사분위법을 이용 확률빈도백분율곡선을 얻어 R.R.L법에 적용하였다. 인천지방의 확률빈도백분률 곡선은 제2 구간이 전체의 43.2%를 나타내므로 설계우량의 우량주상도는 제을구간에서 추출함이 바람직하다.

Automotive Adaptive Front Lighting Requiring Only On/Off Modulation of Multi-array LEDs

  • The Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) is a part of the active safety system, providing optimized vision to the driver during night time and other poor-sight conditions of the road by automatic adaptation of lighting to environmental and traffic conditions. Basically, an AFS provides four different modes of the passing beam as designated in an United Nations Economic Commission for Europe regulation (ECE324-R123): neutral state or country light (Class C), urban light (Class V), highway light (Class E), and adverse weather light (Class W). In this paper, we first present an optics design for an AFS system capable of producing the Class C/V/E/W patterns requiring only on/off modulation of multi-array LEDs with no need for any additional mechanical components. The AFS optics consists of two separated modules, cutoff and spread; the cutoff module lights a narrow central area with high luminous intensity, satisfying the cutoff regulation, and the spread module forms a wide spread beam of low luminous intensity. Each module consists of two major parts; the first converts a discretely positioned LED array into a full-filled area emitting light source plane, and the second projects the light source plane to a 25 m away target plane. With the combination of these two optics modules, the four beam patterns are formed by simple on/off modulation of multi-array LEDs. Then we report the development of a prototype that was demonstrated to provide the four beam patterns.
