군 특수차량용 인휠 드라이브 기어박스의 가속 내구성시험에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Acceleration Durability Test of In-Wheel Drive Gearbox for Military Special Vehicles)

  • The in-wheel drive gearbox for military special vehicles converts the high-speed & low-torque output generated by the electric servomotor, into low-speed & high-torque mechanical power. As the vehicle is remotely maneuvered in mountainous terrain, wet fields, rough terrain, etc., the gearbox must generate a maximum input speed exceeding 5,000 rpm, a maximum torque of 245 Nm, and MTBF of 9,600 km. The purpose of this study was to analyze the failure mode of the gearbox, to ensure the durability of the in-wheel drive gearbox. Also, the field load test data of the vehicle was analyzed, the acceleration durability test standards were established, the acceleration durability test was conducted, and the durability test results were analyzed as well.

고 Cr 주철계 육성용접부의 연삭(abrasion)마모 특성에 대한 연구 (Abrasive wear characteristics of high Cr cast iron hardfacing)

  • Abrasive wear characteristics of high Cr white cast iron-based hardfacing were investigated using the rubber wheel abrasion wear test method according with the ASTM G65-85. Mild steel was also tested for comparison with high Cr cast iron hardfacing. Wear experiments, where the applied force, wheel revolution rate and abrasive powder feed rate were selected as test valuables, were planned and analyzed by response surface method to evaluate wear statistically and quantitatively. Weight loss of high Cr cast iron hardfacing was mostly affected by the applied force and wheel revolution rate, and little by the powder feed rate. Weight loss of mild steel was greatly affected by the wheel revolution rate and powder feed rate, and slowly and steadily increased with the applied force. Abrasive wear mechanism of high Cr cast iron and mild steel was discussed in the light of the wear test results.

  • In general, we utilize momentum wheel to control spacecraft. It needs vacuum test to analyze the effect of space environments. The conventional vacuum connector which is composed of steel has problems for test with built in momentum wheel because of weight, thermal expansion, etc. We suggest possibility to manufacture the vacuum connector using aluminum mount, epoxy and industrial D-Sub considering cost, weight. We verify the performance through vacuum test.

  • Railway wheels and axles belong to the most critical components in railway vehicles. The service conditions of railway vehicles became more severe in recent years due to the increase of speed. Therefore, a more precise evaluation of wheel/set life and safety has been requested. One of the major reasons of railway wheel damage is a contact zone failure by wheel/rail contact. In this paper, we conducted a rolling contact fatigue test for wheels using a specimen of wheel/rail. the behavior of hardeness and residual stress below the contact surface of the test pieces in the fatigue process were analyzed. Finally, the relation between fatigue life and contact pressure was obtained.

  • In order to convert efficiently vibration energy of a car tire wheel into electrical power by using piezoelectric materials, the design of the materials must be performed for the dynamic characteristics of the piezoelectric materials to be matched with them of the vibration energy sources well. An accelerometer was installed on the tire wheel with a slip ring to investigate the dynamic mode of the wheel as one of the vibration energy sources. During road test, the measurement on the vibration mode of the tire wheel was performed with variations of car speed and road condition. The experimental data were analyzed details for availability as a micro power source for wireless TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System).

  • It is generally known that the automotive road wheel involves the non-proportional multiaxial loading condition, therefore the measuring dynamic stress and strain in driving state is very important to predict an endurance characteristic of the automotive road wheel. In this study, the ultimate driving test using F1 circuit with respect to 2 kinds of velocity conditions have been carried out in order to measure dynamic stress, strain of the wheel and acceleration of a vehicle. Based on the measured results, the characteristics of dynamic stress generation have been analyzed, and factors which have effect on the dynamic stress generation have been studied.

유압동력 조향시스템의 동역학 모델링을 통한 시미진동 해석 (Shimmy Vibration Analysis of Steering Wheel including Hydraulic Power Steering System)

  • The power steering system has been adopted in most vehicle system for an easy maneuverability. In this paper, a hydraulic power steering(HPS) model for the computer simulation is developed and used to power steering simulation. The simulation shows that the steering wheel torque with HPS model is less than that without HPS model. In addition, the shimmy vibration at the steering wheel is also simulated and compared to the test data. The lateral displacement of the steering wheel is calculated by imposing the lateral acceleration of the knuckle as a vibration input. The frequency response of the steering wheel is in a good agreement to the test data.

  • The maximum speed of the conventional railway rolling-stock which is restrained to 150km/h will be increased to 200km/h with the development of korean tilting train. The improvement of quality for railway wheel which is closely connected with the safety of train is needed. On the one hand, the speed limit of the wheel standard for the conventional rolling-stock is 150km/h. Thus, a study on the safety of wheel structure, test items and criteria is needed to apply this standard to tilting train wheel. This study is started to present the improvement scheme and to extend the speed limit for conventional wheel standard. For this, we studied the safety of wheel structure, wheel material tests and the criteria for wheel standard and show the results

  • In this study, Curve dependent wheel flange lubricator with spray type is investigated and estimated a point of view reducing wheel flange wear and noise, a small crack in the curve.   • In the braking system, the friction force is the most important factor of the design. For long time, many researchers have been strived for getting the exact friction coefficients. But the friction coefficients are affected by the road condition and changed by lots of parameters, such as normal force and characteristics between two contacted materials, temperature, etc. For the development of ABS of the aircraft, HILS(Hardware-In-the-Loop-Simulation) test and dynamometer test was carried out. For the calculation of the friction coefficients, the wheel moments were measured using the load cell mounted on the housing of the wheel. The test conditions were dry and greasy, as the 0.7 and 0.4 in friction coefficient, respectively. In this paper, the test results of the friction coefficients were represented and the improvement method was suggested.
