Ngoc Linh ginseng is one of the most valuable endemic medicinal herbs in Vietnam. In this study, Ngoc Linh ginseng callus was fermented by Lactobacillus plantarum ATCC 8014 (at 6, 7, and 8 log CFU/ml) to evaluate the extraction efficiency of bioactive compounds. The post-fermentation solution was spray-dried using maltodextrin with or without Stevia rebaudiana (3% and 6% v/v) as the wall material. Bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, polysaccharides, and total saponins, and L. plantarum viability during fermentation and after spray-drying, as well as under simulated gastric digestion, were evaluated in this study. The results showed that probiotic density had a significant effect on bioactive compounds, and L. plantarum at 8 log CFU/ml showed the best results with a short fermentation time compared to other tests. The total content of polyphenols, polysaccharides, and saponins reached 5.16 ± 0.18 mg GAE/g sample, 277.2 ± 6.12 mg Glu/g sample, and 4.17 ± 0.15 mg/g sample, respectively after 20 h of fermentation at the initial density of L. plantarum (8 log CFU/ml). Although there was no difference in the particle structure of the preparation, the microencapsulation efficiency of the bioactive compound in the samples containing S. rebaudiana was higher than that with only maltodextrin. The study also indicated that adding S. rebaudiana improved the viability of L. plantarum in gastric digestion. These results showed that S. rebaudiana, a component stimulating probiotic growth, combined with maltodextrin as a co-prebiotic, improved the survival rate of L. plantarum in simulated gastric digestion.
Due to COVID-19, the importance of non-face-to-face counseling is increasing as the face-to-face counseling method has progressed to non-face-to-face counseling. The advantage of non-face-to-face counseling is that it can be consulted online anytime, anywhere and is safe from COVID-19. However, it is difficult to understand the client's mind because it is difficult to communicate with non-verbal expressions. Therefore, it is important to recognize emotions by accurately analyzing text and voice in order to understand the client's mind well during non-face-to-face counseling. Therefore, in this paper, text data is vectorized using FastText after separating consonants, and voice data is vectorized by extracting features using Log Mel Spectrogram and MFCC respectively. We propose a multi-emotion recognition model that recognizes five emotions using vectorized data using an LSTM model. Multi-emotion recognition is calculated using RMSE. As a result of the experiment, the RMSE of the proposed model was 0.2174, which was the lowest error compared to the model using text and voice data, respectively.
A new $N_4O_3$ heptadentate ligand, N,N'-Bis(2-hydroxybenzyl)-1,3-bis[(2-aminoethyl)amino]-2-propanol(H-BAP 4HCl)was synthesized. The hydrochloric acid salts of Br-BAP 4HCl, Cl-BAP 4HCl, $CH_3O$-BAP 4HCl and $CH_3$-BAP 4HCl containing Br-, Cl-, H-, $CH_3O-$ and $CH_{3^-}$ groups at the para-site of the phenol group of the H-BAP were synthesized. The structures of the ligands were confirmed by C. H. N. atomic analysis and $^1H$ NMR, $^{13}C$ NMR, UV-visible and mass spectra. The elemental stepwise protonation constants(${logK_n}^H$) of the synthesized $N_4O_3$ ligands showed six steps of the proton dissociation. The orders of the overall dissociation constants($log{\beta}_p$) of the ligands were Br-BAP < Cl-BAP < H-BAP < $CH_3O$-BAP < $CH_3$-BAP. The orders agreed well with that of Hammett substituent constants($\sigma_p$). The calculated stability constants($logK_{ML}$) between the ligands and transition metal ions agreed well with the order of the overall proton dissociation constants of the ligands but they showed a reverse order in Hammestt substituent constants($\sigma_p$). The order of the stability constants between the transition metal ions with the ligands were Co(II) < Ni(II) < Cu(II) > Zn(II) > Cd(II) > Pb(II).
This paper presents a kinematic limit analysis for passive earth pressure of rigid retaining structures considering the unsaturation of the backfill. Particular emphasis in the current work is focused on the effects of the spatial change in the degree of saturation on the passive earth pressure under different steady-infiltration/evaporation conditions. The incorporation of change of effective unit weight with degree of saturation is the main contribution of this study. The problem is formulated based on the log-spiral failure model rather than the linear wedge failure model, in which both the spatial variations of suction and soil effective unit weight are taken into account. Parametric studies, which cover a wide range of flow conditions, soil types and properties, wall batter, back slope angle as well as the interface friction angle, are performed to investigate the effects of these factors on the passive pressure and the corresponding shape of potential failure surfaces in the backfill. The results reveal that the flow conditions have significant effects on the suction and unit weight of the clayey backfill, and hence greatly impact the passive earth pressure of retaining structures. It is expected that present study could provide an insight into evaluation of the passive earth pressure of retaining structures with unsaturated backfills.
Community gardens with log house in rural areas as a rural growth tool are able to promote rural-urban exchange and adapt to current market mechanisms by means of communication and promotion techniques. It is important to know that what community garden's users seek for their benefits and demand for well-established and settled down. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the needs of dwellers to live their community gardens so as to provide a better understanding of community gardens in Korea. An open-ended questionnaire survey was obtained from ten householders on community gardens in the study area. The results show that there needs to establish facilities such as small storehouse for farming appliances and barbecue area, and to set up the regulation to control a loud talking and sing until late night. We suggest that the government supports to help dwellers consider their needs to be comfortable on their gardening plots.

Wilson and Bappu (1957), for the first time, and other precedent studies (Lutz & Kelker 1975; Pasquini et al. 1988; Dupree & Smith 1995; Wallerwstein et al. 1999; Pace et al. 2003) found a tight correlation (called Wilson-Bappu relationship - WBR) between stellar absolute visual magnitude and the width of the Ca II K line emission feature for late type stars. Here we re-visit WBR to claim that WBR can be an excellent indicator of stellar surface gravity of late type stars as well as a good indicator of distance. We have analyzed 103 high-resolution spectra of G, K and M type stars obtained by UVES and BOES by following the method by Pace et al. (2003) for measuring the widths of Ca II K lines(W). WBR found in our samples is Mv=33.26-17.79logW and the correlation is very tight. In this study, the stellar gravity(log g) has been derived using Kurucz ALAS9 model grid and MOOG code, which can determine $T_{eff}$ and [M/H] too.
Five parameters such as the entrance size of the front wall, conduit size, wave period, wave height and the width of water pool were selected to estimate the inflow rate, which is basic and essential input data to design seawater exchange breakwater with a submerged mound by conducting hydraulic model experiments. In the results of multiple regression analysis, log-log equation showed a good agreement rather than linear equation and the estimation of inflow rate was well done with only two parameters except entrance size of the front wall, wave period and the width of water pool. Finally, non-dimensional flow rate equation is derived.
Purpose - This study measures how competitive securities broker-dealers are in the Korean financial markets. It aims to test whether the markets are perfectly competitive or monopolistic since the global financial crisis of 2008. Research design, data, and methodology - We apply the method developed by Panzar and Rosse (1987), H-statistics, which offers an index for the competitiveness as well as statistical tests. The dataset in use is retrieved mainly from the quarterly statements of the financial services companies by the Financial Statistics Information System of the Financial Supervisory Service. General information on officers and employees is utilized in addition to balance sheets and income statements of securities companies. Results - H-statistics for 2009-2015 is about 0.7 that is a robust estimate regardless of model specifications such as full trans-log, partial trans-log, and Cobb-Douglas regression equations. H-statistics for each year is also computed in similar ways in that it varies between 0.3 and 0.9. Conclusions - Since the global financial crisis, H-statistics concludes that securities broker-dealer markets in Korea is neither perfectly competitive nor monopolistic. It evidences that the markets are rather monopolistically competitive. The trend in annual H-statistics leads to the same conclusion but the result is not such stable that overall H-statistics implies.

The color appearance of a yarn-dyed woven fabric depends on the color of the yarn as well as on the weave structure. Predicting the final color appearance or formulating the recipe is a difficult task, considering the interference of colored yarns and structure variations. In a modern fabric design process, the intended color appearance is attained through a digital color methodology based on numerous color data and color mixing recipes (i.e., color prediction models, accumulated in CAD systems). For successful color reproduction, accurate color prediction models should be devised and equipped for the systems. In this study, the final colors of yarn-dyed woven fabrics were predicted using six geometric-color mixing models (i.e., simple K/S model, log K/S model, D-G model, S-N model, modified S-N model, and W-O model). The color differences between the measured and the predicted colors were calculated to evaluate the accuracy of various color models used for different weave structures. The log K/S model, D-G model, and W-O model were found to be more accurate in color prediction of the woven fabrics used. Among these three models, the W-O model was found to be the best one as it gave the least color difference between the measured and the predicted colors.

We analyze the complexity of the LLL algorithm, invented by Lenstra, Lenstra, and $Lov{\acute{a}}sz$ as a a well-known lattice reduction (LR) algorithm which is previously known as having the complexity of $O(N^4{\log}B)$ multiplications (or, $O(N^5({\log}B)^2)$ bit operations) for a lattice basis matrix $H({\in}{\mathbb{R}}^{M{\times}N})$ where B is the maximum value among the squared norm of columns of H. This implies that the complexity of the lattice reduction algorithm depends only on the matrix size and the lattice basis norm. However, the matrix structures (i.e., the correlation among the columns) of a given lattice matrix, which is usually measured by its condition number or determinant, can affect the computational complexity of the LR algorithm. In this paper, to see how the matrix structures can affect the LLL algorithm's complexity, we derive a more tight upper bound on the complexity of LLL algorithm in terms of the condition number and determinant of a given lattice matrix. We also analyze the complexities of the LLL updating/downdating schemes using the proposed upper bound.
