The transform domain communication system (Hereinafter referred to as TDCS) takes on numerous advantages, inclusive of anti-jamming and low probability of detection. Yet its application is confined by the consistent spectrum in the transmitter and receiver, which is not possible in the case of a huge distance exsits between them. In this paper, a TDCS based modified weighted fractional fourier transform (WFRFT) is proposed to solve the problem resulting from spectrum mismatching for TDCS application. The amplitude and phase information are incorporated with the TDCS signals and transmit to the receiver together in the wake of a modified WFRFT. The basic function and the TDCS signals shall be accessible to the receivers in the wake of an inverse WFRFT transform, which make sure that the original information can be demodulated properly. The system's reliability while transmitting signals with different modulation methods and with spectrum mismatching is demonstrated by bit error rate (BER). In the meantime, the constellations of the signals and the BER performances at the eavesdropper demonstrate the proposed system is better secured.

In the context of additive noise steganography model, we propose a method to detect least significant bit (LSB) matching steganography in grayscale images. Images are decomposed into detail sub-bands with local linear transform (LLT) masks which are sensitive to embedding. Novel normalized characteristic function features weighted by a bank of band-pass filters are extracted from the detail sub-bands. A suboptimal feature set is searched by using a threshold selection algorithm. Extensive experiments are performed on four diverse uncompressed image databases. In comparison with other well-known feature sets, the proposed feature set performs the best under most circumstances.

In this paper, we present a stable solution of the transient electromagnetic scattering from the conducting objects. This method does not utilize the conventional marching-on in time (MOT) solution. Instead we solve the time domain integral equation by expressing the transient behavior of the induced current in terms of weighted Laguerre polynomials. By using this basis functions for the temporal variation, the time derivative in the integral equation can be handled analytically. Since these temporal basis functions converge to zero as time progresses, the transient response of the induced current does not have a late time oscillation. To show the validity of the proposed method, we solve a time domain electric feld integral equation and compare the results of MOT, Mie solution, and the inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) of the solution obtained in the frequency domain.

WT(Wavelet Transform) is used to avoid blocking effect that is the disadvantage of JPEG using DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform). Because the proposed coding scheme is the same as JPEG, the proposed algorithm is compatible with that of JPEG. To achieve the goal, WT'ed image is reconstructed into 8$\times$8 coding block. Each coding block is quantized with the proposed weighting matrix that is derived from human visual characteristic and error analysis in WT'ed domain. By experiments, the proposed algorithm is superior to JPEG, in terms of PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) and WMSE(Weighted Mean Square Error).

This paper suggests an efficient approach for stochastic bicriteria programming problem (SBCPP) with random variables in both the objective functions and in the right-hand side of the constraints. The suggested approach uses the statistical inference through two different techniques: In one of them, the SBCPP is transformed into an equivalent deterministic bicriteria programming problem (DBCPP), then the nonnegative weighted sum approach will be used to transform the bicriteria programming problem into a single objective programming problem, and the other technique, the nonnegative weighted sum approach is used to transform the SBCPP to an equivalent stochastic single objective programming problem, then apply the same procedure to convert stochastic single objective programming problem into its equivalent deterministic single objective programming problem (DSOPP). In both techniques the resulting problem can be solved as a nonlinear programming problem to get the efficient solutions. Finally, a comparison between the two different techniques is discussed, and illustrated example is given to demonstrate the actual application of these techniques.
This paper presents an approach to detect premature ventricular contractions(PVC) using the neural network with weighted fuzzy membership functions(NEWFM), NEWFM classifies normal and PVC beats by the trained weighted fuzzy membership functions using wavelet transformed coefficients extracted from the MIT-BIH PVC database. The eight most important coefficients of d3 and d4 are selected by the non-overlap area distribution measurement method. The selected 8 coefficients are used for 3 data sets showing reliable accuracy rates 99,80%, 99,21%, and 98.78%, respectively, which means the selected input features are less dependent to the data sets. The ECG signal segments and fuzzy membership functions of the 8 coefficients enable input features to interpret explicitly.
The main difference between mono-volume rendering and multi-volume rendering is data intermixing. In this paper, we first propose a selective rendering method for fast visualizing specific volume according to the surface level and then present data intermixing method for multiple volumes. The selective rendering method is to generate distance transformed volume using a distance transform to determine the minimum distance to the nearest interesting part and then render it. The data intermixing method for multiple volumes is to combine several volumes using intensity weighted intermixing method, opacity weighted intermixing method, opacity weighted intermixing method with depth information and then render it. We show the results of selective rendering of left ventricle and right ventricle generated from EBCT cardiac images and of data intermixing for combining original volume and left ventricular volume or right ventricular volume. Our method offers a visualization technique of specific volume according to the surface level and an acceleration technique using a distance transformed volume and the effective visual output and relation of multiple images using three different intermixing methods in three-dimensional space.
In active sonar, time delay estimation is used to find the distance between the target and the sonar. Among the time delay estimation methods for active sonar, estimation in the frequency domain is widely used. When estimating in the frequency domain, the time delay can be thought of as a frequency estimator, so it can be used relatively easily. However, this method is prone to rapid increase in error due to noise. In this paper, we propose a new method which applies weighted dictionary and sparsity in order to reduce this error increase and we extend it to two receivers to propose an algorithm for estimating the time delay between two receivers. And the case of applying the proposed method and the case of not applying the proposed method including the conventional frequency domain algorithm and Generalized Cross Correlation-Phase transform (GCC-PHAT) in a white noise environment were compared with one another. And we show that the newly proposed method has a performance gain of about 15 dB to about 60 dB compared to other algorithms.

In this paper, we present a saliency detection method using entropy weight and Weber contrast in the wavelet transform domain. Our method is based on the commonly exploited conventional algorithms that are composed of the local bottom-up approach and global top-down approach. First, we perform the multi-level wavelet transform for the CIE Lab color images, and obtain global saliency by adding the local Weber contrasts to the corresponding low-frequency wavelet coefficients. Next, the local saliency is obtained by applying Gaussian filter that is weighted by entropy of wavelet high-frequency subband. The final saliency map is detected by non-lineally combining the local and global saliencies. To evaluate the proposed saliency detection method, we perform computer simulations for two image databases. Simulations results show the proposed method represents superior performance to the conventional algorithms.

In this paper, we propose a method which infers an accurate disparity map for radiometrically varying stereo images. For this end, firstly, we transform the input color images to the log-chromaticity color space from which a linear relationship can be established during constructing a joint pdf between input stereo images. Based on this linear property, we present a new stereo matching cost by combining weighted mutual information and the SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) descriptor with segment-based plane-fitting constraints to robustly find correspondences for stereo image pairs which undergo radiometric variations. Experimental results show that our method outperforms previous methods and produces accurate disparity maps even for stereo images with severe radiometric differences.
