  • Squadron crew scheduling problems can be defined as the assignment of crews to flights consistent with safety regulations and squadron policy. In this paper, the daily crew scheduling problems are formulated as zero-one interger programs known as generalized assignment problems. The objective function is to maximize the weighted mission interval to improve the crew performance. Flight schedules using the 0-1 integer model are compared with manual schedules. The results of the study show that the average crew performance is improved.

  • This paper is equivalent model transform which reduces the restriction of digitalization in the discrete linear system. This algorithm is the method that weight is given to contribillity and obserbility gramian, the regular matrix T of coordinate transform is obtained and then the state space coefficents of weighted model can be obtained. This study shows the frequency reponse of low quantization error according to the order of weighting function. The result shows that frequency response of the proposed algorithm is better than that of the balanced realization in the system of smaller bit.

  • A parametrization for a linear system is presented to design a direct model reference adaptive pole placement controler. This parametrized model is one of the structured nonminimal models. The exponentially weighted least-squres algorithm is employed to estimate the control parameters. The direct adaptive controller has the exponential weighting properties by the proposed method of selecting the characteristic polynomials of the sensitivity function filters in connection with the reference models.

  • This paper deals with the robustness properties of the minimum disparity estimation in linear regression models. The estimators defined as statistical quantities whcih minimize the blended weight Hellinger distance between a weighted kernel density estimator of the residuals and a smoothed model density of the residuals. It is shown that if the weights of the density estimator are appropriately chosen, the estimates of the regression parameters are robust.

  • Considering channel length modulation, we proposed a GaAs MESFET model for circuit simulator. In existing M.S. Shur's model, two different models are used according to pinch-off voltage of devices. One model for both type of devices was proposed. In this model we introduced weighted switching function(WSF) based on channel length modulation. This proposed model showed better accuracy comparing with existing single law model and complete velocity saturation model.

  • The design and implementation of Generalized Minimum Variance control laws for nonlinear multivariable systems that can include severe nonlinearities is considered. The quadratic cost index minimised involves dynamically weighted error and nonlinear control signal costing terms. The aim here is to show the controller obtained is simple to design and implement. The features of the control law are explored. The controller obtained includes an internal model of the process and in one form is a nonlinear version of the Smith Predictor.

  • In machine learning and statistics it is often the case that some variables are not important, while some variables are more important than others. We propose a novel algorithm for selecting such relevant variables in the kernel Cox regression. We employ the weighted version of ANOVA decomposition kernels to choose optimal subset of relevant variables in the kernel Cox regression. Experimental results are then presented which indicate the performance of the proposed method.

  • A regression function in generalized linear model may have a discontinuity/change point at unknown location. In order to estimate the location of the discontinuity point and its jump size, the strategy is to use a nonparametric approach based on one-sided kernel weighted local-likelihood functions. Weak convergences of the proposed estimators are established. The finite-sample performances of the proposed estimators with practical aspects are illustrated by simulated examples.

  • A System of evaluation is developed which determines a uniform and individualized monetary redress. It can be applied not only to permanent disability but to temporary disability cases and considers all factors affecting monetary redress in determining process. As objects of compensation this model considers five factors, the degree of injury, the change of earning capacity, medical fee, job suspension and the degree of contributory negligence. For each object is defined a subfunction measuring its magnitude. Then by assigning reasonable weighted values to these five subfunctions according to their relative importance, we get main function which determines appropriate monetary redress.

  • The accelerated failure time model or accelerated life model relates the logarithm of the failure time linearly to the covariates. The parameters in the model provides a direct interpretation. In this paper, we review some newly developed practically useful estimation and inference methods for the model in the analysis of right censored data.
