  • This study aims to measure stretch rate of standard weight in the direction of the knit stitch course by the difference in the way of weaving rib stitch, the most elastic stitch of all the knit stitches and to apply features of rib stitch to the knit pattern. The reviewer examined the sample knit for test with 100% wool, 2/48's 2, 12 gauge, and then made knit patterns and sample clothes for test considering stretch rate of standard weight of 10gf, l5gf, 20gf, 25gf based on the results from the former test, and finally estimated the try-outs for sample clothes. This study came out with the following results. From the functional estimate of knit patterns made by standard stretch rate of each stitch, the l5gf weight sample clothes of 0×0 and 1×1 rib stitches looking similar to plain stitch. For the bust, B/4-1.0㎝ knit pattern was made of 0×0 stitch, B/4-1.2㎝ of 1×1 rib stitch. In conclusion, because rib stitch has the much higher stretch rate in the direction of the course than other stitches, low stretch rate of standard weight should be applied to the case of making knit wear. It is expected that this will lead stable sizing and measurement system when used in making knit patterns, and satisfy knit wearers' various needs.

  • This study was conducted to establish standard fresh weight data about the minimum amount of occurred weeds at untreated paddy fields, upland fields and orchard fields (including non-cultivated land) in 10 areas. The amount of occurred weeds in each area was compared fresh weight with dry weight. The average percentage for ratio of dry weight to fresh weight in paddy fields was concluded to be 14.8% of Echinochola crus-galli, 12.5% of annual weeds (including Echinochola crus-galli), and 13.9% of perennial weeds. The average percentage for ratio of dry weight to fresh weight in upland fields was concluded to be 20.1% of annual weeds and in orchard fields was concluded to be 18.4% of annual and perennial weeds. According to the research, standard fresh weight about the minimum amount of occurred weeds at untreated paddy fields was proposed to $210g\;m^{-2}$ of Echinochola crus-galli, $400g\;m^{-2}$ of annual weeds (including Echinochola crus-galli), and $220g\;m^{-2}$ of perennial weeds. Standard fresh weight about the minimum amount of occurred weeds at untreated upland fields was proposed to $250g\;m^{-2}$ of annual weeds and at untreated orchard fields was proposed to $550g\;m^{-2}$ of annual and perennial weeds.

  • In this study, examined heavy-weight floor impact sound to structure that have slab thickness of 4 form at a standard laboratory through noise and vibration measured. The results show that the nature Natural frequency increased according to change of thickness of each slab by finite element analysis, and acceleration value decreased. Results of measurements of noise and vibration at a standard laboratory, the slab 210, 240mm structures was construed result such as finite element analysis but the slab 150, 180mm structures is construed that influence in vibration acceleration level because edge condition has condition that contact to ground. Therefore, in modelling process for analysis, is thought that need that condition analyzes examining element influencing about structure that contact to ground.

  • Noise is regarded as an unwanted component of the image because it significantly reduces image quality. And image is often corrupted by mixed noise. In this paper an efficient modified weighted filter algorithm which combines spatial weight and intensity weight is proposed for removing mixed noise. In the proposed method, the filtering mask is separated into the four sub-windows and the parameters of the weights are confirmed by calculating local standard deviation and the mean of four sub-windows' standard deviations. Considering the spatial information and intensity information, the proposed method has good performance on not only noise elimination but also preservation of details. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method performs better than conventional algorithms.

  • This study aims to evaluate the degree of malnutrition of children by three nutritional indicators-Weight for Age, Hight for Age, Weight for Height. The results are as follows; The average height and weight of children are much lower than Korea average height and weight. In terms of Weigh for Age, 20-40% of the samples belongs to below-2 standard deviation from the mean of reference group. 90% of the samples falls into the region below the mean. The standard deviation score indicates negative sign for eighty to ninety percent of the samples. The malnutrition of the samples is also confirmed in terms of Height for Age. In terms of Weight for Height, the mean of the samples is not significantly different from that of the reference group. Tests of the nutritional status under basis of three nutritional indicators show that approximately 50% of the samples had suffered from malnutrition and 17% of the samples have suffered from malnutrition.

  • In the Gen-2 Q-algorithm, the values of weight C, which is the parameter for incrementing or decrementing the slot-count size, are not optimized in the standard. However, the standard suggests that the reader uses small values of C when the slot-count is large and larger values of C when the slot-count is small. In this case, if the reader selects an inappropriate weight, there are a lot of empty or collided slots. As a result, the performance will be declined because the frame size does not converge to the optimal point quickly during the query round. In this paper, we propose a scheme to select the weight based on the slot-count size of current query round. Through various computer simulations, it is demonstrated that the proposed scheme achieves more stable performances than Gen-2 Q-algorithm.

  • The mass measurement of solid density standards using weight exchanger is described. KRISS(Korea Research Institute od Standards and Science) has several solid density standards. Their mass have been measured manually only using a mass comparator(Mettler, 1kg - 0.01mg). However, the uncertaity of the manual mass measurement is up to 300 microgarm much more than 32 microgram of advanced NMIS(National Metrology Institutes) for 1 kg silicon sphere which is primary density standards due to an eccentric error and buoyancy correction error. The new system with a weight exchanger is designed and built to improve the measurement accuracy. It comprises a weight exchager, a mass comparator, air density instruments, and application program for automatic measurement. It is evaluated by measuring several elements in an air tight chamber to verify the performance of it.

  • The author investigated the modified Broca's index that could be applied to Korean adults, what is called Korean Broca's Index, with 2322 apparently healthy subjects of 20-59 years old in order to obtain the index which could be used to estimate the standard body weight of Korean adults. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Linear regression equation of body weight to height was Y (weight in kg)=0.7195 X (height in cm)-57.9746 in male, and V (weight in kg)=0.4288 X (height in cm)-16.6528 in female. 2. Estimated constant that could be applied to Korean Broca's Index was 0.93 in male and 0.89 in female, and these sexual difference was statistically significant. (P<0.01)

  • There are three standard weight functions on a linear code viz. Hamming weight, Lee weight, and Euclidean weight. Euclidean weight function is useful in connection with the lattice constructions [2] where the minimum norm of vectors in the lattice is related to the minimum Euclidean weight of the code. In this paper, we obtain an upper bound over the number of parity check digits for Euclidean weight codes detecting and correcting burst errors.

  • To investigate the effects of planting density and nitrogen level on growth and yield potential of newly bred heavy panicle japonica rice with large grain (Iksan 435 and Iksan 438) or many spikelets per panicle(HR14022-21-8-4 and HR14022-21-8-6), four heavy panicle type rices and two many panicle type rices(Dongjinbyeo and Donganbyeo) as the checks were planted under standard planting density (30$\times$15 cm) and dense planting density (15$\times$15 cm) with two nitrogen levels of standard nitrogen level(110 kg h $a^{-1}$) and heavy nitrogen level(165 kg h $a^{-1}$). Effective tiller rate decreased in dense planting or heavy nitrogen, when compared to standard nitrogen and planting, while leaf area index and to dry weight increased in dense planting or heavy nitrogen. Tiller numbers and panicle numbers were more increased by dense planting than heavy nitrogen, whereas spikelet numbers were more increased by heavy nitrogen than dense planting. Ripened grain ratio was slightly lower only in dense planting. 1,000 grain weight in brown rice was not significantly different in dense planting or heavy nitrogen. Milled rice yield was highest in heavy nitrogen with standard planting for heavy panicle type rice, while yield for many panicle type rice was highest in heavy nitrogen with dense planting, suggesting that many panicle type rice possesses higher adapt-ability for dense planting than heavy panicle type rice. Path coefficient analysis revealed that top dry weight, spikelet number and grain weight were the greatest positive contributors to yield, whereas tiller number was negative to yield.d.
