Analysis of the Research on Augmented Reality Using Knowledge Domain Visualization based on Co-Citation Analysis (동시인용분석 기반 지식영역 가시화 기법을 활용한 증강현실 연구 분석)

  • Augmented reality (AR) is considered to be an excellent user interface to a 3D information space embedded within physical reality. For this reason, it has been applied to various applications such as design, medical service, interaction, and collaboration. However, there is no formal way of analyzing the research trend and evolution of augmented reality. This paper identifies the research trend and change in augmented reality (AR) via co-citation analysis. The co-citation analysis provides how the AR research has evolved, who are main contributors, and which papers suggest essential and influencing impact. To systematically analyze the cocitation, we have retrieved 1,145 papers from the Web of Science and applied a scientomertric analysis using CiteSpace. Based on the co-citation analysis of authors and documents, it is possible to analyze the evolution of augmented reality, key authors and papers, and breakthroughs. We have also compared the proposed approach with survey papers written by experts so that the result of the co-citation analysis can compromise the qualitative result done by experts, and thus it can provide a different view and insight for visualizing the research on augmented reality.

  • The development of fast information network connections and the information highway of todays society have made consumers to demand various services in interior design. The media influencing consumer behavior is with no doubt, the Internet. The exponential growth in Internet users in Korea is surprised to all other countries. At this time where new businesses and events on the Internet are developing successfully, the educational and cultural benefits to consumers, which is quite different from the time when consumers only depended on television and newspaper, are enabling consumer demand to grow together with the abundant floods of information. This implies that consumer choice is shifting from needs-based to wants-based products and services. In the past where only the necessities were mass-produced and there was a lack in goods in general, there just werent enough products or varieties for consumers to either compare or evaluate. Today, comparing and evaluating has become natural with the access to information, and consumers have teamed to choose interior products that fit their preferences. In other words, this means that consumers are now at a transition point where they are moving from the simple everyday needs of the past to wants of the present that allows them to form a standard for selecting products of their own preference.

  • 인터넷을 통한 정보 전달 방법은 Ethernet과 ATM, CAN과 같은 다양한 통신 전달 프로토콜 및 방법을 통해 이루어지고 있다. 현재 연구된 네트웍상의 시간 지연 현상에 대한 연구는 일부네트웍 모델을 바탕으로 연구되고 있으나 다양한 통신 환경 하에서 발생하는 시간 지연 현상에 대해 최적의 모델링 방법을 제시해 주고 있지 못하고 있다. 따라서 다양한 네트웍 환경에 적합하도록 인터넷기반 비동기 샘플치 시스템 모델에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 아울러 인터넷을 통해 구성된 폐루프 시스템은 기존 제어 시스템과 다른 동작 특성과 외란 특성을 가지므로 인터넷 환경에 적합하게 설계된 견실 제어 방법이 필요하다. 따라서 안정성이 극히 요구되는 각종 산업기기 등에 대한 웹기반 정밀 원격 제어를 원활히 수행하기 위해서는 웹 환경에 최적화된 강인 제어 이론 개발이 필요하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 원격지 플랜트에 대한 실시간 원격 제어를 안정적 및 효율적으로 수행하도록 인터넷상의 데이터 전송시 시간 지연 현상 분석 및 인터넷 기반 제어시스템의 전달 특성 분석하였다.

  • 최근 몇 년 사이 컴퓨터와 초고속 통신망의 대중적인 보급으로 인하여 인터넷 사용 인구가 급격하게 증가하였고 인터넷 사용량 또한 폭발적으로 증가하였다. 이와 같이 막대한 양으로 늘어난 트래픽은 서버에 과도한 양의 부하를 발생시켜 서비스 전반에 걸친 성능 저하를 가져왔다. 따라서 서버에 많은 양의 트래픽이 발생하더라도 정상적인 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 서버의 트래픽 폭주로 인한 서버 과부하 문제를 해결하기 위해 수락 제어 알고리즘을 이용한다. 수락 제어 기법은 컨텐츠 변환이나 로드 밸런싱과 같이 수동적으로 부하를 덜어주거나 분산시키는 방식이 아닌 트래픽에 제한을 가하여 능동적으로 서버의 부하를 조절하는 방식이다. 클라이언트에 의한 연결 요청이 이루어질 때 서버의 부하 상태를 평가한 후 서버가 수용 가능한 수준이면 클라이언트 새로운 연결 요청을 수락하여 이를 서비스할 수 있도록 한다. <중략> 또한 서비스 요청에 제한적인 정책을 따를 경우 서버의 부하 변화에 빠르게 반응하지만 QoS(Quality of Service)의 향상을 얻을 수 있는 반면 더 많은 서비스 요청을 수용하는 정책을 취할 경우 서버의 부하 변화에 대한 반응이 느리지만 throughput이 증가하는 이득을 얻을 수 있게 된다. QoS와 throughput가 서로 tradeoff 관계에 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 요구되는 서비스의 성격에 따라 즉 더 높은 수준의 QoS 보장이 중요한 서비스인가 아니면 더 높은 수준의 throughput 보장이 요구되는 서비스인가에 따라 다른 수락 제어 정책을 적용하는 것이 가능하게 된다.

  • 360 VR 콘텐츠는 기존의 선형적인 일반 영상에 비해 사용자에게 더 많은 정보와 높은 몰입감을 제공할 수 있어 의학, 군사, 교육, 게임 등 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 최근에는 모바일 기기의 성능 향상과 통신기술의 발달에 힘입어 모바일 네트워크를 사용한 360 VR 콘텐츠 소비가 증가하는 추세이다. 모바일 네트워크는 대역폭이 한정적이고 가변적인 특성이 있어 이를 통해 용량이 큰 360 VR 콘텐츠 전송 시 초기 접속 지연 및 재생 끊김이 발생하여 사용자의 만족도를 감소시킬 수 있다. 이에 본 논문은 위에 언급한 문제를 해결하기 위해 360 VR 콘텐츠 전송 시 전체 요구대역폭을 감소시키고 사용자 초기 접속 속도를 향상시키는 것을 목표로, 360 VR 콘텐츠의 지오메트리 값과 사용자의 요(i.e. yaw)값을 활용하여 각도 기반으로 사용자의 현재 시점에 해당하는 타일을 확인하고 해당 타일에 높은 비트율을 할당하는 방법 및 웹 기반 전송에 대해 연구 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 웹 기반 3D 렌더링 API 인 WebVR API, HTTP Adaptive Streaming 기술의 표준 MPEG-DASH의 dash.js API를 활용하여 개발하고, 성능 확인 실험을 통해 요구대역폭 감소, 클라이언트 접속 속도 향상을 제시한다.

Designing method for fire safety of steel box bridge girders

  • This paper presents a designing method for enhancing fire resistance of steel box bridge girders (closed steel box bridge girder supporting a thin concrete slab) through taking into account such parameters namely; fire severity, type of longitudinal stiffeners (I, L, and T shaped), and number of longitudinal stiffeners. A validated 3-D finite element model, developed through the computer program ANSYS, is utilized to go over the fire response of a typical steel box bridge girder using the transient thermo-structural analysis method. Results from the numerical analysis show that fire severity and type of longitudinal stiffeners welded on bottom flange have significant influence on fire resistance of steel box bridge girders. T shaped longitudinal stiffeners applied on bottom flange can highly prevent collapse of steel box bridge girders towards the end of fire exposure. Increase of longitudinal stiffeners on bottom flange and web can slightly enhance fire resistance of steel box bridge girders. Rate of deflection-based criterion can be reliable to evaluate fire resistance of steel box bridge girders in most fire exposure cases. Thus, T shaped longitudinal stiffeners on bottom flange incorporated into bridge fire-resistance design can significantly enhance fire resistance of steel box bridge girders.

  • The concept of Virtual Character has been developed for a long time with people's demand for cultural and entertainment products such as games, animations, and movies. In recent years, with the rapid development of concepts and industries such as social media, self-media, web3.0, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and Metaverse, Virtual Character has also expanded new derivative concepts such as Virtual Idol, Virtual YouTuber, and Virtual Digital Human. With the development of technology, people's life is gradually moving towards digitalization and virtualization. At the same time, under the global environment of the new crown epidemic, human social activities are rapidly developing in the direction of network society and online society. From the perspective of digital media content, this paper studies the production technology of Virtual Character related products in the Chinese market, and analyzes the future development direction and possibility of the Virtual Character industry in combination with new media development directions and technical production methods. Consider and provide reference for the development of combined applications of digital media content industry, Virtual Character and Metaverse industry.

  • The importance of geospatial information is increasingly highlighted in the defense domain. Accurate and up-to-date geospatial data is essential for situational awareness, target analysis, and mission planning in millitary operations. The use of high-resolution geospatial data in military operations requires large storage and fast image processing capabilities. Efficient image processing is required for tasks such as extracting useful information from satellite images and creating 3D terrain for mission planning, In this paper, we designed a cloud-based operational situation mixed reality visualization system that utilizes large-scale geospatial information distributed processed on a cloud server based on the container orchestration platform Kubernetes. We implemented a prototype and confirmed the suitability of the design.

  • In this study, high temperature design and integrity evaluation methodology have been developed for Type 316L stainless steel air-to-sodium heat exchanger which uses 700℃ sodium as coolant. Currently the only design rules that take creep effects into consideration explicitly for the 316L stainless steel subjected to high temperature in the creep range are French RCC-MRx, where elevated temperature designs are possible around 550℃. Absent design coefficients at high temperature were determined based on the material properties newly determined in previous studies, and high-temperature design evaluation methodologies were developed based on 3D finite element analyses on the 700℃ class heat exchanger. In addition, works were conducted on the web-based design evaluation program of HITEP_RCC-MRx including incorporation of material properties and design coefficients up to 700℃. Methodologies on high temperature design evaluations on Type 316L stainless steel high-temperature heat exchanger were suggested.

A Comparative Study about Industrial Structure Feature between TL Carriers and LTL Carriers (구역화물운송업과 노선화물운송업의 산업구조 특성 비교)

  • Transportation enterprises should maintain constant and qualitative operation. Thus, in short period, transportation enterprises don't change supply in accordance with demand. In the result, transportation enterprises don't reduce operation in spite of management deficit at will. In freight transportation type, less-than-truckload(LTL) has more relation with above transportation feature than truckload(TL) does. Because freight transportation supply of TL is more flexible than that of LTL in correspondence of freight transportation demand. Relating to above mention, it appears that shortage of road and freight terminal of LTL is larger than that of TL. Especially in road and freight terminal comparison, shortage of freight terminal is larger than that of road. Shortage of road is the largest in 1990, and improved after-ward. But shortage of freight terminal is serious lately. So freight terminal needs more expansion than road, and shows better investment condition than road. Freight terminal expansion brings road expansion in LTL, on the contrary, freight terminal expansion substitutes freight terminal for road in TL. In transportation revenue, freight terminal's contribution to LTL is larger than that to TL. However, when we adjust quasi-fixed factor - road and freight terminal - to optimal level in the long run, in TL, diseconomies of scale becomes large, but in LTL, economies of scale becomes large. Consequently, it is necessary for TL to make counterplans to activate management of small size enterprises and owner drivers. And LTL should make use of economies of scale by solving the problem, such as nonprofit route, excess of rental freight handling of office, insufficiency of freight terminal, shortage of driver, and unpreparedness of freight insurance.
