A Study on the Management of the WCMS-based Web-Contents (WCMS 기반의 웹 콘텐츠 관리에 관한 연구)

  • Due to the development of the online and mobile, cases of introducing CMS(Contents Management System) and WCMS(Web Contents Management System) to manage Web-Contents of individual and company's homepage are continuously increasing. In this paper, it is necessary to develop WCMS that can establish GUI(Graphic User Interface) based WCMS and edit contents using more concise procedures. In this paper, by reconfiguring WCMS-based Web contents using user-definition, we designed the system that can effectively and conveniently edit web contents as GUI-based. Also, we studied the intuitive and convenient web-contents management methods through researches using simplified logic. Therefore, proposed WCMS based Web-contents editing system allows the users to edit and modify the web contents much more quickly and conveniently compared to the existing web-contents editing system.

An Adaptation System based on Personalized Web Content Items for Mobile Devices

  • Users want to browse and search various web contents with mobile devices which can be used anywhere and anytime without limitations, in the same manner as desktop. But mobile devices have limited resources compared to desktop in terms of computing performance, network bandwidth, screen size for full browsing, and etc, so there are many difficulties in providing support for mobile devices to fully use desktop-based web contents. Recently, mobile network bandwidth has been greatly improved, however, since mobile devices cannot provide the same environment as desktop, users still feel inconvenienced. To provide web contents optimized for each user device, there have been studies about analyzing code to extract blocks for adaptation to a mobile environment. But since web contents are divided into several items such as menu, login, news, shopping, etc, if the block dividing basis is limited only to code or segment size, it will be difficult for users to recognize and find the items they need. Also it is necessary to resolve interface issues, which are the biggest inconvenience for users browsing in a mobile environment. In this paper, we suggest a personalized adaptation system that extracts item blocks from desktop-based web contents based on user interests, layers them, and adapts them for users so they can see preferred contents first.

A Study on the Audit Framework for Web Contents and Design (웹 컨텐츠 및 디자인 중심의 감리모형 연구)

  • The current information system audit merely inspects a web based information system by focusing on checking items that are extracted from structured and information engineering model and object-oriented component model. As a result, the checking item of web contents and design is inadequate. This paper aims to extract audit framework in order to strengthen the audit of web contents and design during the development of the web based information system and to suggest checking items based on audit framework. For this, the web development process and web site evaluation model were studied, compared, and analyzed with the current information system development audit. From a result of the survey, it was found that the adequacy of the suggested audit framework and audit checking items is above the average value. It is believed that the suggested audit framework is helpful for the audit of web based information system.

  • In this paper we proposed web-based educational multimedia contents development method using Web 3D technology and implemented web 3D contents for use at the education field. A implementation of contents is composed of modeling to specific entity in 3D shape, convert modeling data to enable data at web and include in webpage. A practical use of contents on this research can provide more advanced user experience and immersion.

Design and Implementation of Server-Based Web Reader kWebAnywhere (서버 기반 웹 리더 kWebAnywhere의 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of the kWebAnywhere system based on WebAnywhere, which assists people with severely diminished eye sight and the blind people to access Internet information through Web interfaces. The WebAnywhere is a server-based web reader which reads aloud the web contents using TTS(text-to-speech) technology on the Internet without installing any software on the client's system. The system can be used in general web browsers using a built-in audio function, for blind users who are unable to afford to use a screen reader and for web developers to design web accessibility. However, the WebAnywhere is limited to supporting only a single language and cannot be applied to Korean web contents directly. Thus, in this paper, we modified the WebAnywhere to serve multiple language contents written in both English and Korean texts. The modified WebAnywhere system is called kWebAnywhere to differentiate it with the original system. The kWebAnywhere system is modified to support the Korean TTS system, VoiceText$^{TM}$, and to include user interface to control the parameters of the TTS system. Because the VoiceText$^{TM}$ system does not support the Festival API used in the WebAnywhere, we developed the Festival Wrapper to transform the VoiceText$^{TM}$'s private APIs to the Festival APIs in order to communicate with the WebAnywhere engine. We expect that the developed system can help people with severely diminished eye sight and the blind people to access the internet contents easily.

  • Recently, roost of the companies have, utilized internet with the purpose of business. According to this tendency, each company is exchanging various information and offering services of e-business through Web-Site. Contents on Web-Site are getting huge and the period of contents renewal is getting short. Consequently, each company is faced with many problems for the contents management because of specialization and fractionation of contents. A contents management system that creates, maintains and manages efficiently and conveniently contents on Web-Site toward solving these problems is very required. in this paper, we design and implement such a web contents management system. It also supports dynamic web page publication based on the XML components.

  • This study measured whether web-based library user education represent web-based instruction theories in education. 9 criteria used were course-related instruction, collaborative learning, evaluation of tutorials, education of information retrieval, contents tables, multimedia interaction between users and librarians, navigational aids, variation of menus. The result showed that both contents and design of web sites were important for good web-based library user education.

  • When a designer creates a new web-based learning-teaching system, there are so many considerations to help learners' learning effect through effective interaction. First of all, web-based simulation is recommended to provide learners with effective and attractive learning environments in web. Efficient study design should be considered because well designed simulation-based contents provide continuous interest for learner. Until now many e-Learning systems provide web-based simulation using various technique. However, those contents require to be reorganized considering the level of accomplishment, learning styles. In this paper, I proposed a system that the learners can share simulation objects among other e-Learning systems using XML web service. By experimental result, the proposed system shows that is more efficient than the conventional system in the self-leading study activity and interactivity.

  • With the improvement of the web-technology, web-based cyber education is progressing from the text-based to the hyper-based including multimedia, and from one way of simply giving the contents to the learner to another way of providing mutual interaction between instructors and learners. There are several fields using the dynamic application and multimedia contents. RIA(Rich Internet Application), which. is the new paradigm of the web, provides clients with more effective and rich contents, combining the dynamic application and multimedia contents. With the existing web script language, a lot of time and efforts will be very needed to provide learners with various and rich contents. In this paper, we compare the efforts in developing the RIA based education system with the Non-RIA based education system, then experiment the characteristics of the RIA based education system
