  • For many soft ground embankment projects , instrumentation programs for stability and settlement management is being essential . This usually leads to generate large volume of data, which can be used for further research. Database technique is most effective method for data management . Data produced by soft ground embankment instrumentation can not be used by itself but must be reproduced using geotechnical analysis technique. In this study, a intelligent database system for softground called IDSIM was developed to examine applicability intellgent database. . The IDSIM analysis instrumentation data automatically and present results by Web/DB interface successfully.

Bioinformatics Resources of the Korean Bioinformation Center (KOBIC)

  • The Korean Bioinformation Center (KOBIC) is a national bioinformatics research center in Korea. We developed many bioinformatics algorithms and applications to facilitate the biological interpretation of OMICS data. Here we present an introduction to major bioinformatics resources of databases and tools developed at KOBIC. These resources are classified into three main fields: genome, proteome, and literature. In the genomic resources, we constructed several pipelines for next generation sequencing (NGS) data processing and developed analysis algorithms and web-based database servers including miRGator, ESTpass, and CleanEST. We also built integrated databases and servers for microarray expression data such as MDCDP. As for the proteome data, VnD database, WDAC, Localizome, and CHARMM_HM web servers are available for various purposes. We constructed IntoPub server and Patome database in the literature field. We continue constructing and maintaining the bioinformatics infrastructure and developing algorithms.

  • Manufacturing companies should perform process planning and its evaluation concurrently with new product developments so that they can be highly competitive in the modern market. Process planners should make decisions in the manner of concurrent and collaborative engineering in order to reduce the manufacturing preparation time and cost when developing new products. Automated generation of analysis models from the integrated database, which contains process and material information, reduces time to prepare analyses and makes the models reliable. In this research, we developed a web-based system for concurrent and collaborative system for production flow analysis, using web, database, and simulation technology. An integrated database is designed to automatically generate analysis models from process and material plans without reworking the data. This system enables process planners to evaluate their decision fast and share their opinions with others easily. With this system, it is possible to save time and cost for assembly process and material planning, and reliability of process plans can be improved

  • The rapid expansion of the medical information super-highway through the internet with the sophistication of computer engineering and its application has made telemedicine in the cyberspace possible. Recent progress in the medical informatics enables us to use the medical information regardless on the time or place limit, to make a diagnostic and therapeutic plan. according to increasing need about health of general population. There are many database oriented sites on the web, which provide medical common senses, hospital information, and medical counselling on the web. But there are few oriental pulse database on the web. The purpose of this study is to develope the Clinical Oriental Pulse Database Management System over the WWW.

  • 대공간 구조물은 거대한 단일 공간을 제공하는 장스팬 구조물이며, 규모면이나 구조물이 가지는 용도의 특성 때문에 도시를 구성하는 매우 중요한 요소로 작용하고 있다. 국내에서는 세계 최초의 게이블 돔 형식을 사용한 올림픽 제1, 제2 체육관이 1988년 서울 올림픽을 위해 건설되었으며, 이후 2002년 한일 월드컵을 기점으로 많은 대공간구조물이 건설되었다. 또한 최근에는 안산과 대구에 다목적 용도의 개폐식돔구장의 건설이 발표되는 등 대공간구조물의 건설이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 이에 관련된 건설정보를 제공하는 효율적인 매체의 부재가 문제가 되고 있다. 대공간구조물의 건설정보는 시공경험이 있는 업체 이외에는 공개되지 않으며, 학계나 관계에서도 관련 정보를 접하는 것이 제한되어 있다. 필요한 정보를 얻기 위해서 많은 시간과 비용이 낭비되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 대공간구조물의 웹 데이터베이스 모델을 구축하여 대공간구조물의 건설에서 필요한 종합적인 정보를 제공하고자 한다.

Classification of HTTP Automated Software Communication Behavior Using a NoSQL Database

  • Application layer attacks have for years posed an ever-serious threat to network security, since they always come after a technically legitimate connection has been established. In recent years, cyber criminals have turned to fully exploiting the web as a medium of communication to launch a variety of forbidden or illicit activities by spreading malicious automated software (auto-ware) such as adware, spyware, or bots. When this malicious auto-ware infects a network, it will act like a robot, mimic normal behavior of web access, and bypass the network firewall or intrusion detection system. Besides that, in a private and large network, with huge Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) traffic generated each day, communication behavior identification and classification of auto-ware is a challenge. In this paper, based on a previous study, analysis of auto-ware communication behavior, and with the addition of new features, a method for classification of HTTP auto-ware communication is proposed. For that, a Not Only Structured Query Language (NoSQL) database is applied to handle large volumes of unstructured HTTP requests captured every day. The method is tested with real HTTP traffic data collected through a proxy server of a private network, providing good results in the classification and detection of suspicious auto-ware web access.

  • 반만년 숭고한 문화유산을 지니고 있는 민족으로서 우수한 문화유산을 영구 보존하고 후손에 잘 전승하여야 하며, 세계에 널리 알려야 할 필요가 있다. 이러한 필요성을 인식하고 컴퓨터 기술의 발단에 따라 최근 국내외에서 문화재 및 역사적 가치를 지닌 구조물에 대한 3차원 데이터베이스 구축, 문화재 복원 및 사이버 공간에서 전시 기술 등에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 문화재의 3차원 도형자료를 3차원 좌표취득이 용이한 사진측량기법으로 취득하고, VRML을 이용하여 문화재의 다양한 색상이나 질감 등 정성적 특성을 표현할 수 있는 3차원 모델링 기법을 제시하고자 한다.

웹기반 크리프 물성 데이터베이스 개발 (Development of Web-based Creep Property Database)

  • User-friendly-web-based database system for searching creep property data was developed. This system includes about 38000 creep data for 270 different materials including low carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel. Data on creep rupture, creep deformation, creep crack growth and creeping materials can be searched through this system. Retrieved data is displayed in numeric form and also presented in graphical form for visualizing the data. Furthermore, the creep rupture data is designed to be fitted to a regression equation of logarithmic stress using time-temperature parameter(TTP). The degree of the regression equation, orthogonal polynomials, was determined using analysis of variance.

Genome-Based Virus Taxonomy with the ICTV Database Extension

  • In 1966, the International Classification of Viruses (ICNV) was established to standardize the naming of viruses. In 1975, the organization was renamed "International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV)," by which it is still known today. The primary virus classification provided by ICTV in 1971 was for viruses infecting vertebrates, which includes 19 genera, 2 families, and 24 unclassified groups. Presently, the 10th virus taxonomy has been published. However, the early classification of viruses was based on clinical results "in vivo" and "in vitro," as well as on the shape of the Phenotype virus. Due to the development of next-generation sequencing and the accompanying bioinformatics analysis pipelines, a reconstruction of the classification system has been proposed. At a meeting held in Boston, USA between June 9-11, 2016, there was even an in-depth discussion regarding the classification of viruses using metagenomic data. One suggested activity that arose from the meeting was that viral taxonomy should be reconstructed, based on genotype and bioinformatics analysis "in silico." This article describes our efforts to achieve this goal by construction of a web-based system and the extension of an associated database, based on ICTV taxonomy. This virus taxonomy web system was designed specifically to extend the virus taxonomy up to strain and isolation, which was then connected with the NCBI database to facilitate searches for specific viral genes; there are also links to journals provided by the EMBL RESTful API that improves accessibility for academic groups.

GIS 표준 웹 서비스 적용을 위한 3차원 실내모델의 효율적 시각화 (Effective 3D Inner Model Visualization for GIS Web Service)

  • 건물의 형태가 고층화되고 대규모의 복합공간을 이루게 되면서 건물의 실내공간은 더욱 복잡하고 다양한 활동들이 일어나는 공간으로 새롭게 인식되고 있기 때문에, 실내공간을 3차원으로 모델링하여 위치정보를 기반으로 다양한 분야에서 활용될 수 있도록 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 GIS 표준 웹서비스 기술과 3차원 시각화 기술을 화재 대피 시설물 관리 상권 분석과 같은 건물과 관련된 어플리케이션에 활용하여 효율적인 의사결정을 내릴 수 있도록 3차원 실내모델의 정보를 제공할 수 있도록 하였다. GIS 표준 웹 서비스를 활용하여 건물정보를 공유할 수 있도록 건물의 3차원 실내공간을 효율적으로 모델링하고 시각화하기 위한 방안을 제시하기 위해 실내모델의 다양한 구성요소들을 분할하여 모델링 된 공간데이터베이스의 지정된 데이터테이블에 저장하고, 각각을 GIS 웹 서버를 이용하여 웹서비스 할 수 있도록 설정하였다. 3차원 그래픽 렌더링 엔진을 이용하여 GIS 웹서비스로 전달되는 실내모델을 동적으로 재구성함으로써 효율적으로 3차원 시각화할 수 있는 모듈을 개발하여 다양한 어플리케이션에 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.
