Recently, as mobile internet usage has been increasing rapidly, malware attacks through user's web browsers has been spreading in a way of social engineering or drive-by downloading. Existing defense mechanism against drive-by download attack mainly focused on final download sites and distribution paths. However, detection and prevention of injection sites to inject malicious code into the comprised websites have not been fully investigated. In this paper, for the purpose of improving defense mechanisms against these malware downloads attacks, we focus on detecting the injection site which is the key source of malware downloads spreading. As a result, in addition to the current URL blacklist techniques, we proposed the enhanced method which adds features of detecting the injection site to prevent the malware spreading. We empirically show that the proposed method can effectively minimize malware infections by blocking the source of the infection spreading, compared to other approaches of the URL blacklisting that directly uses the drive-by browser exploits.

As the number of services offered on the Internet exponentially increases, password managers are increasing popular applications that store several passwords in an encrypted database (or password vault). Browser-integrated password managers or locally-installed password managers store the password vault on the user's device. Although a web-based password manager stores the password vault on the cloud server, a user can store the master password used to sign in the cloud server on her device. An attacker that steals a user's encrypted vault stored in the victim's device can make an offline attack and, if successful, all the passwords in the vault will be exposed to the attacker. This paper investigates the vulnerability of the password vault stored in the device and develops attack programs to verify the vulnerability of the password vault.
There was a large scale of DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) attacks mostly targeted at Korean government web sites and cooperations's on March 4, 2010(3.4 DDoS attack) after 7.7 DDoS on July 7, 2009. In these days, anyone can create zombie PCs to attack someone's website with malware development toolkits and farther more improve their knowledge of hacking skills as well as toolkits because it has become easier to obtain these toolkits on line, For that trend, it has been difficult for computer security specialists to counteract DDoS attacks. In this paper, we will introduce an essential control list to prevent malware infection with live forensics techniques after analysis of monitoring network systems and PCs. Hopefully our suggestion of how to coordinate a security monitoring system in this paper will give a good guideline for cooperations who try to build their new systems or to secure their existing systems.

Many companies has led to the damage case being leaked to personal information by taking cyber attack. Also, planned hacking cases continues to increase for the purpose of acquiring monetary gain or causing social disruption induction, etc. Approximately 75% of the Web site attacks exploit the vulnerability of the application. Major security issue is to strengthen the S/W development security according to the legal basis. The members of the project team is the fact that the lack of recognition of application development security. In addition, passive response and security validation/testing, etc. throughout the SDLC to the entire area is insufficient. Therefore, rework due to the belated discovery of a defect has occurs. In this paper, we examine the case of the project step-by-step security activities by performing IT services companies. And, through this, we present security measures that can be applied to the step-wise real-world projects.

IPTV technology for providing multimedia content with high-speed is the network which combines existing network, multimedia and internet technology etc. But internet, broadcasting and web technologies which is now being used is not optimized to IPTV because the security problem between user who gets content service through mobile units and content server is not guaranteed. This paper proposes user certification mechanism between mobile device and content server to receive the service which the user for the content chooses by mobile device safely. The proposed mechanism uses the random number which user creates and certification token for preventing illegal user who uses other's service that already paid. Also the proposed protocol encrypts the delicate data like user's information or profile using shared-key between java card attached on user's mobile device and grant sewer and then prevents reply attack which happens often in wireless section and man-in-the-middle attack by MAC.

Cyber security and resilience are phrases that describe safeguards of ICTs (information and communication technologies) from cyber-attacks or mitigations of cyber event impacts. The sole purpose of Risk models are detections, analyses, and handling by considering all relevant perceptions of risks. The current research effort has resulted in the development of a new paradigm for safeguarding services offered online which can be utilized by both service providers and users. customers. However, rather of relying on detailed studies, this approach emphasizes task selection and execution that leads to successful risk treatment outcomes. Modelling intelligent CSGs (Cyber Security Games) using MLTs (machine learning techniques) was the focus of this research. By limiting mission risk, CSGs maximize ability of systems to operate unhindered in cyber environments. The suggested framework's main components are the Threat and Risk models. These models are tailored to meet the special characteristics of online services as well as the cyberspace environment. A risk management procedure is included in the framework. Risk scores are computed by combining probabilities of successful attacks with findings of impact models that predict cyber catastrophe consequences. To assess successful attacks, models emulating defense against threats can be used in topologies. CSGs consider widespread interconnectivity of cyber systems which forces defending all multi-step attack paths. In contrast, attackers just need one of the paths to succeed. CSGs are game-theoretic methods for identifying defense measures and reducing risks for systems and probe for maximum cyber risks using game formulations (MiniMax). To detect the impacts, the attacker player creates an attack tree for each state of the game using a modified Extreme Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (that sees numerous compromises ahead). Based on the findings, the proposed model has a high level of security for the web sources used in the experiment.

BGP(Border Gateway Protocol) is a routing protocol that is actively used in inter-AS routing on the Internet. However, BGP routing protocol is vulnerable to BGP hijacking attacks that hijack the network by impersonating normal BGP sessions. BGP Hijacking attacks can lead to causing intercept IP traffic or interference with the normal service operation. Recently, BGP hijacking attacks, which have often occurred overseas, have also occurred in Korea. It means threatening the security of the Internet. In this paper, we analyze the overall process of attack through representative attack cases and virtual scenarios of BGP hijacking and based on the results of analyzing the application status of security technology to prevent BGP hijacking attacks by Korea and global major ISPs. It covers the technical proposal of ISPs and autonomous system operators should take to defend against BGP hijacking attacks.

Due to the recent surge in popularity of cryptocurrency, the threat of cryptojacking, a malicious code for mining cryptocurrencies, is increasing. In particular, web-based cryptojacking is easy to attack because the victim can mine cryptocurrencies using the victim's PC resources just by accessing the website and simply adding mining scripts. The cryptojacking attack causes poor performance and malfunction. It can also cause hardware failure due to overheating and aging caused by mining. Cryptojacking is difficult for victims to recognize the damage, so research is needed to efficiently detect and block cryptojacking. In this work, we take representative distinct symptoms of cryptojacking as an indicator and propose a new architecture. We utilized the K-Nearst Neighbors(KNN) model, which trained computer performance indicators as behavior-based dynamic analysis techniques. In addition, a K-means model, which trained the frequency of malicious script words for script similarity-based static analysis techniques, was utilized. The KNN model had 99.6% accuracy, and the K-means model had a silhouette coefficient of 0.61 for normal clusters.

Recommender systems enable a user to decide which information is interesting and valuable in our world of information overload. As the recent studies of distributed computing environment have been progressing actively, recommender systems, most of which were centralized, have changed toward a peer-to-peer approach. Collaborative Filtering (CF), one of the most successful technologies in recommender systems, presents several limitations, namely sparsity, scalability, cold start, and the shilling problem, in spite of its popularity. The move from centralized systems to distributed approaches can partially improve the issues; distrust of recommendation and abuses of personal information. However, distributed systems can be vulnerable to attackers, who may inject biased profiles to force systems to adapt their objectives. In this paper, we consider both effective CF in P2P environment in order to improve overall performance of system and efficient solution of the problems related to abuses of personal data and attacks of malicious users. To deal with these issues, we propose a multi-agent framework for a distributed CF focusing on the trust relationships between individuals, i.e. web of trust. We employ an agent-based approach to improve the efficiency of distributed computing and propagate trust information among users with effect. The experimental evaluation shows that the proposed method brings significant improvement in terms of the distributed computing of similarity model building and the robustness of system against malicious attacks. Finally, we are planning to study trust propagation mechanisms by taking trust decay problem into consideration.
In this paper, we introduce a novel method to predict next update of blogs. The number of RSS feeds registered on meta-blogs is on the order of several million. Checking for updates is very time consuming and imposes a heavy burden on network resources. Since blog search engine has limited resources, there is a fix number of blogs that it can visit on a day. Nevertheless we need to maximize chances of getting new data, and the proposed method which predicts update probability on blogs could bring better chances for it. Also this work is important to avoid distributed denial-of-service attack for the owners of blogs. Furthermore, for the internet as whole this work is important, too, because our approach could minimize traffic. In this study, we assumed that there is a specific pattern to when a blogger is actively posting, in terms of days of the week and, more specifically, hours of the day. We analyzed 15,119 blogs to determine a blogger's posting preference. This paper proposes a method to predict the update probability based on a blogger's posting history and preferred days of the week. We applied proposed method to 12,115 blogs to check the precision of our predictions. The evaluation shows that the model has a precision of 0.5 for over 93.06% of the blogs examined.
