  • A nonlinear self-tuning regulator for a neutralization process of a weak acid and strong base system is proposed. Rearranging the state equation of the process model, we first obtain equations which are linear for a manipulated variable or unknown parameters. Then to these equations we apply the standard procedure used in designing linear self-tuning regulators. Simulation results show that the regulator provides very good performances for various realistic situations and traces variations of the unknown parameters. Since computations are simple and additional measurements except the effluent pH value are only flow rates of influent streams, it can be easily applied to real processes such as a waste water treatment process.

  • Control arm is the structural component that pivots on two places. One end of the control arm is attached to the body frame and the other end is attached to the steering knuckle. The former research proposed the structural design by applying optimization technique with aluminum alloy. This study suggests a durability test method on the developed upper control arm to validate the analysis results. The durability analysis results of the developed control arm by using MSC Fatigue is confirmed to be close to infinite life. The weak model of developed control arm which occurs to finite life is made to perform the durability test and the zig design is developed in this process.

  • The aim of this article is to study an implicit iteration process with errors for a finite family of non-Lipschitzian asymptotically non expansive mappings in the intermediate sense in Banach spaces. Also we establish some strong convergence theorems and a weak convergence theorem for said scheme to converge to a common fixed point for non Lipschitzian asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in the intermediate sense. The results presented in this paper extend and improve the corresponding results of [1], [3]-[8], [10]-[11], [13]-[14], [16] and many others.

  • The minimum power supply voltage of a typical bandgap current reference (BGCR) is limited by operating temperature and input common mode range (ICMR) of a feedback amplifier. A new BGCR using a bandgap voltage generator (BGVG) is proposed to minimize the effect of temperature, supply voltage, and process variation. The BGVG is designed with proportional to absolute temperature (PTAT) characteristic, and a feedback amplifier is designed with weak-inversion transistors for low voltage operation. It is verified with a $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS process with five corners for MOS transistors and three corners for BJTs. The proposed circuit is superior to other reported current references under temperature variation from $-40^{\circ}C$ to $120^{\circ}C$ and power supply variation from 1.2 V to 1.8 V. The total power consumption is $126{\mu}W$ under the conditions that the power supply voltage is 1.2 V, the output current is $10{\mu}A$, and the operating temperature is $20^{\circ}C$.

  • Weak form integral equations are developed to investigate the flapwise bending vibration of the rotating beams. Rayleigh and Eringen nonlocal elasticity theories are used to investigate the rotatory inertia and Size-dependency effects on the flapwise bending vibration of the rotating cantilever beams, respectively. Through repetitive integrations, the governing partial differential equations are converted into weak form integral equations. The novelty of the presented approach is the approximation of the mode shape function by a power series which converts the equations into solvable one. Substitution of the power series into weak form integral equations results in a system of linear algebraic equations. The natural frequencies are determined by calculation of the non-trivial solution for resulting system of equations. Accuracy of the proposed method is verified through several numerical examples, in which the influence of the geometry properties, rotatory inertia, rotational speed, taper ratio and size-dependency are investigated on the natural frequencies of the rotating beam. Application of the weak form integral equations has made the solution simpler and shorter in the mathematical process. Presented relations can be used to obtain a close-form solution for quick calculation of the first five natural frequencies of the beams with flapwise vibration and non-local effects. The analysis results are compared with those obtained from other available published references.

  • In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of the residual empirical process from diffusion processes. For this task, adopting the discrete sampling scheme as in Florens-Zmirou [9], we calculate the residuals and construct the residual empirical process. It is shown that the residual empirical process converges weakly to a Brownian bridge.

  • Giant radio relics in the outskirts of galaxy clusters have been observed and they are interpreted as synchrotron emission from relativistic electrons accelerated via diffusive shock acceleration (DSA) in weak shocks of Ms < 3.0. In the DSA theory, the particle momentum should be greater than a few times the momentum of thermal protons to cross the shock transition and participate in the Fermi acceleration process. In the equilibrium, the momentum of thermal electrons is much smaller than the momentum of thermal protons, so electrons need to be pre-accelerated before they can go through DSA. To investigate such electron injection process, we study the electron pre-acceleration in weak quasi-perpendicular shocks (Ms = 2.0 - 3.0) in an ICM plasma (kT = 8.6 keV, beta = 100) through 2D particle-in-cell simulations. It is known that in quasi-perpendicular shocks, a substantial fraction of electrons could be reflected upstream, gain energy via shock drift acceleration (SDA), and generate oblique waves via the electron firehose instability (EFI), leading the energization of electrons through wave-particle interactions. We find that such kinetic processes are effective only in supercritical shocks above a critical Mach number, $Ms{\ast}{\sim}2.3$. In addition, even in shocks with Ms > 2.3, energized electrons may not reach high energies to be injected to DSA, because the oblique EFI alone fails to generate long-wavelength waves. Our results should have implications for the origin and nature of radio relics.

  • We consider a class of discrete parameter processes on a locally compact Polish space $S$ arising from successive compositions of strictly stationary Markov random maps on $S$ into itself. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the stationary solution and the weak convergence of the distributions of $\{\Gamma_n \Gamma_{n-1} \cdots \Gamma_0x \}$ are given.
