  • The calculation of phase velocities in Spectral-Analysis -of-Surface -Waves (SASW) meas urements requires unwrapping phase angles. In case of layered systems with strong stiffness contrast like a pavement system, conventional phase unwrapping algorithm to add in teger multiples of 2n to the principal value of a phase angle may lead to wrong phase volocities. This is because there is difficulty in counting the number of jumps in the phase spectrum especially at the receiver spacing where the measurements are in the transition Bone of defferent modes. A new phase interpretation scheme, called "Impulse Response Fil traction ( IRF) Technique," is proposed, which is based on the separation of wave groups by the filtration of the impulse response determinded between two receivers. The separation of a wave group is based on the impulse response filtered by using information from Gabor spectrogram, which visualizes the propagation of wave groups at the frequency -time space. The filtered impulse response leads to clear interpretation of phase spectrum, which eliminates difficulty in counting number of jumps in the phase spectrum. Verification of the IRF technique was performed by theoretical simulation of the SASW measurement on a pavement system which complicates wave propagation.opagation.

  • We report all sky camera and Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) observations of mesospheric gravity waves and a 12-hour wave at Resolute $(75^{\circ}N)$ and a joint observation of 10-hour wave with Eureka $(80^{\circ}N)$. All sky camera observations showed a low occurrence of mesosphere gravity waves during equinoxes, which is similar to the mid-latitude region. A slightly higher occurrence near solstice appears to indicate that gravity waves are not filtered out by the neutral wind in the winter. The FPI observation of a 12-hour wave showed amplitude variations from day to day. The phase of the wave is mostly stable and consistent with the GSWM prediction in the winter. The phase shifts with season as predicted by the GSWM. Four events of the 12-hour wave were found in spring with amplitudes larger than the GSW predictions. The FPls at Resolute and Eureka also observed a wave with period close to 10 hours. The 10-hour wave maybe the result of the non-linear interaction between the semi-diurnal tide and the quasi-two day wave. Further studies are under way. Overall, the combined Resolute and Eureka observation have revealed some new fractures about the mesospheric gravity wave, tidal wave, and other oscillations.

  • The following paper proposes the new design of digital sine wave generator which allows users to define the phase shift of the out put sinewave according to user's demands. This new sinewave generator will have 2 outputs, cos(${\omega}_0n$) and cos(${\omega}_0n$+${\phi}$) The design of the new system starts from the construction of discrete time system with impulse response as cos(${\omega}_0n$) in a pair of conjugate complex poles and a pair of zeros at the origin and the real axis. If users want to make a phase shift of sign wave, users can change the position of zero at the real axis. The results of the experiment have shown that the new design of sign wave generator has generated sine wave with the correct phase shift according to the theory.

  • A V2X system can be a candidate as a means to increase the stability of autonomous vehicles. In particular, in order to implement a Level 4 or higher autonomous driving system, the application of the V2X system is essential. Wireless communication technologies applicable to the V2X system include WAVE and C-V2X. Currently, the V2X service most used by autonomous driving systems is a service that provides signal phase and timing information and since real-time characteristic is a very important, verification of this service must be done. In this paper, we measured the time delay characteristics for providing signal phase and timing information using WAVE and LTE communication, and proposed a TOD-based signal phase and timing information generation method without using V2X communication system. To analyze the time delay characteristics, RTT (Round Trip Time) was measured as a result of the measurement. Average RTT using WAVE communication was 5.84ms and was 104.15ms with LTE communication. As a result of measuring the error between the signal phase and timing information generated based on TOD and the actual traffic light state, it was measured to be -0.284~3.784sec.

  • The objective of this work is to study the wave propagation of an FGM plate via a new integral inverse shear model with temperature-dependent material properties. In this contribution, a new model based on a high-order theory field of displacement is included by introducing indeterminate integral variables and inverse co-tangential functions for the presentation of shear stress. The temperature-dependent properties of the FGM plate are assumed mixture of metal and ceramic, and its properties change by the power functions of the thickness of the plate. By applying Hamilton's principle, general formulas of wave propagation were obtained to plot the phase velocity curves and wave modes of the FGM plate with simply supported edges. The effects of the temperature and volume fraction by distributions on wave propagation of the FGM plate are investigated in detail. The results of the dispersion and the phase velocity curves of the propagation wave in the functionally graded plate are compared with previous research.

  • We study the bending wave, shear wave and longitudinal wave characteristics in the double nanobeams in this paper for the first time, in the process of research, based on the Reddy's higher-order shear deformation theory and considering shear layer stiffness, linear stiffness, inter-laminar stiffness, the pore volume fraction, temperature variation, functionally graded index influence on wave propagation, based on the nonlocal strain gradient theory and Hamilton variational principle, the wave equation of the double-nanometer beams are derived. Since there are three different motion states for the double nanobeams, which includes the cases of "in phase", "out of phase" and "one nanobeam fixed", the propagation characteristics of shear-, bending-, and longitudinal- waves in these three cases are discussed respectively, and some valuable conclusions are obtained.

  • We need two operation modes to obtain the complex hologram without bias and the conjugate image in the modified triangular interferometer(MTI). To solve the problem, we proposed the optimized MTI with one wave plate, which can obtain cosine and sine functions by the combination of one wave plate and one linear polarizer. In the extraction of phase term using the combination of polarization components, the phase error occurs, and we simulated such potential phase errors in the optimized MTI.

  • The method to obtain four speckle patterns with relative phase shift of $\pi$/2 by passive devices such as two waveplates and a linear polarizer, and to calculate the phase at each point of the speckle pattern in shearography with a Wollaston prism is described. In this paper, we analyze its potential error sources caused by wave plates.

  • The traveling waves of the left and right of the detached breakwater are bent behind the detached breakwater by diffraction, causing phase interference, superimposed and propagated. If the direction of the waves becomes same and they head to the entrance of a port due to the geographical conditions, superimposed wave energy could influence inside of a port. In this study, we investigated the influence of the phase difference of the left and right diffraction waves generated according to the length of the detached breakwater on the wave heights in a port through numerical experiments when the detached breakwater at a port entrance is installed. From this result, it was confirmed that the wave heights in a port is increased or decreased by the influence of superimposed caused by the phase difference of the left and right diffraction waves due to the length of the detached breakwater.
