  • To consider business-based requirements beyond the existing roles of water supply, water utilities need enough methodology to integrate lots of related issues and to introduce effective decision-makings. On these grounds, this study modeled and simulated water business system using system dynamics approach. It is expected that formalised model can describe the actual system structurally and statistically, help utilities to predict their business performance and make decisions to solve chronic issues. Moreover, the case study of Y city gave political measures objectively and practically.

  • This paper tries to apply the standard method for the estimation of range and degree of fisheries damages caused by warm water drained by generating plants to a real situation. The theoretic foundation of the study has been shown in the article published on the journal of fisheries business administration of last year. The paper tries to examine the degree of external appicability of the theoretic model through empirical study. The results of the study are as follows. The model has been found a successful device for the estimation of fisheries damages caused by warm water drained by generating plants. It also shows a possibility to work in any other fisheries damage cases caused by several kinds of public undertaking on coastal areas. The key of the model is the successful derivation of the quantity amount of the critical variation of environmental factors for example, in this case, water thermal variation. Therefore the countinous and appropriate collection of law data on the environmental factors under a viewpoint of statistics is essential to the usefulness of the model.

어류양식장 생산계획에 관한 연구 (Production planning in fish farm)

  • Because land based aquaculture is restricted by high investment per rearing volume and control cost, good management planning is important in Land-based aquaculture system case. In this paper master production planning was made to decide the number of rearing, production schedule and efficient allocation of water resources considering biological and economic condition. The purpose of this article is to build the mathematical decision making model that finds the value of decision variable to maximize profit under the constraints. Stocking and harvesting decisions that are made by master production planning are affected by the price system, feed cost, labour cost, power cost and investment cost. To solve the proposed mathematical model, heuristic search algorithm is proposed. The model Input variables are (1) the fish price (2) the fish growth rate (3) critical standing corp (4) labour cost (5) power cost (6) feed coefficient (7) fixed cost. The model outputs are (1) number of rearing fish (2) sales price (3) efficient allocation of water pool.

  • 탄자니아 아루샤에 위치한 Gongali model Co. Ltd는 지하수 불소제거를 위해서 현지에서 생산한 골탄을 이용하여 Nanofilter water station을 운영하고 있다. 현지에서 생산된 골탄은 탁도와 유기물 농도가 높아서 색도가 유발되는 문제가 있다. 또한, 불소 흡착 효율이 낮아서 골탄의 짧은 교체 주기로 인해 유지관리 비용이 증가하는 비용적 어려움도 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해서 고흡착 골탄을 보급하기 위한 목적으로 현지형 가마를 국내에서 제작하여 현지에 보급하는 사업을 추진하였다. 현지에서 고흡착 골탄을 생산함으로써 Nanofilter water station의 운영 효율이 증가하였으며 지역 주민들에게 안정적으로 지속해서 식수를 제공할 수 있었다. 또한, Gongali model Co. Ltd에게 지속 가능한 비즈니스 모델을 제시함으로써 고흡착 골탄의 지속성과 Nanofilter water station의 확산 계획을 제시하였다. 결과적으로 본 사업을 통해서 지속적으로 저소득층과 소외계층에게 저렴한 식수를 공급할 수 있는 방안을 마련할 수 있었다.

건설 예정인 댐에서 유역유출과 취수형태에 따른 탁수의 거동 예측 (Simulation of Turbid Water According to Watershed Runoff and Withdrawal Type in a Constructing Reservoir)

  • Watershed runoff and turbid water dynamics were simulated in the Youngju Dam, being constructed. The runoff flow and suspended solids were simulated and then thermal stratification and turbid water current in the reservoir were predicted by HSPF and CE-QUAL-W2 model, respectively. Considering selective withdrawal, we hypothesized 3 withdrawal types from the dam, i.e. surface layer, middle layer and the lowest layer. The maximum concentration of SS was 400mg/L in reservoir and it was decreased by the withdrawal. The inflowed turbid water fell to 30 NTU after 12 days regardless of the withdrawal types, but the surface layer withdrawal was a better type at turbid water discharge than the others. In current environmental impact assessment(EIA), we concluded that runoff and reservoir water quality predicted by HSPF and CE-QUAL-W2 was desirable, and appropriate parameters were selected by continous monitoring after EIA.

HSPF, EFDC 및 WASP에 의한 영주다목적댐 저수지의 수질예측 (Water Quality Modeling of Youngju Dam Reservoir by HSPF, EFDC and WASP)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of EFDC hydrodynamic result on the WASP7.3 water quality modeling result in accordance with the change of number of grid for the dam reservoir to be constructed. The simulated flow and BOD, T-N and T-P loads by the HSPF watershed model was used for boundary conditions and the hydrodynamic modeling results was linked with WASP model to predict future water quality after dam construction. The scenarios for EFDC modeling were composed of Scenario 1(141 grid cells) and Scenario 2(568 grid cells). The results of Scenario 2 showed that BOD, T-N, T-P and Chl-a concentrations were decreased 0.073mg/L(8.5%), 0.032mg/L(2.6%), 0.003mg/L(6.8%), 0.644mg/L(4.2%) compared with those of Scenario 1, respectively. As number of grid cell increased, water quality concentrations were decreased and also it caused the longer running time. Therefore, this study suggests that the consideration of the geometry of water body is more important than the number of grid cells for the prediction of water quality of a dam reservoir in EIA.

육상수조 어류양식 생존율에 따른 비용분석모형 (Cost Analysis Model according to Mortality in Land-based Aquaculture)

  • Fish mortality is the most important success factor in aquaculture management. To analyze the effect of mortality considering biological and economic condition is a important problem in land-based aquaculture. This study is aimed to analyze the effect of mortality for duration of cultivation in land-based aquaculture. This study builds the mathematical model that finds the value of decision variable to minimize cost that sums up the water pool usage cost, sorting cost, fingerling cost and feeding cost under critical standing corp constraint. The proposed mathematical model involves many aspects, both biological and economical: (1) number of fingerlings (2) timing and number of batch splitting event, based on (3) fish growth rate, (4) mortality, and (5) several farming expense. Numerical simulation model presented here in. The objective of numerical simulation is to provide for decision makers to analyse and comprehend the proposed model. When extensive biological and cost data become available, the proposed model can be widely applied to yield more accurate results.

청라지구 물순환체계내 주운수로의 흐름유발시설 설치효과 (The Effect of Flow Induction Machine in Water Circulation System of Cheongna Canal Way)

  • This study carried out hydraulic model test for water circulation system in Cheongna district as part of Incheon Free Economic Zone. Canal way project of Cheongna was planned to establish for environment-friendly water circulation system, improve quality of life and diversification of traffic through using boat as a water-friendly international business city. The navigation canal, There are two intake facility in central park and it can purify water 15,000$m^3$ per day. After purify, water move to 8 facility of water culture area which supplies water in canal way. This process called water circulation system in cheongna. Also, there are several flow induction machine in canal way except south-north way. Therefore, this study will verify about validity of water circulation system's safety through hydraulic model test.

Reassessment on SEBAL Algorithm and MODIS Products

  • Hydrological modeling is a very complex task dealing with multi-source of data, but it can be potentially benefited from recent improvements and developments in remote sensing. The estimation of actual land surface evapotranspiration (ET), an important variable in water management, has become possible based entirely on satellite data. This study adopted a Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL) with the use of MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) satellite products. The SEBAL model is one of the commonly used approach for the ET estimation. A primary advantage of the SEBAL model is rather its minimum requirement for ground-based weather data. The MODIS provides ET (MOD16) product that is based on the Penman-Monteith equation. This study aims to further develop the SEBAL model by employing a more rigorous parameterization scheme including the estimation of uncertainty associated with parameter and model selection in regression model. Finally, the proposed model is compared with the existing approaches and comprehensive discussion is then provided.
