Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of a school based smoking prevention program for college freshmen. Method: The nonequivalent control group, pretest-post-test design was used. Among 16 departments in a University located in S city, students in 8, randomly selected, departments received 6 sessions of smoking prevention program consisted of small group discussion led by smoking cessation leaders, video watching, and lectures from March 15 to June 9, 2004. Students in remaining 8 departments did not receive any education. Student's attitude, intention, stress, temptation, knowledge and self efficacy was measured. Result: The level of stress and smoking temptation was significantly decreased in the experimental group over that of the control group. Conclusion: It was proven that this school based smoking prevention program was effective for decreasing smoking temptation in college freshmen. In the future, more efforts should be given to college age students to prevent them becoming chronic smokers.

In this paper, we analyze social network status and suggest TV SNS Service. According to alexa.com's recent chart, there are three SNS sites (facebook, myspace, twitter) in global top 20 sites. SNS usage has increased dramatically. Recently many SNS are growing up by opening their platform that make it easy to develope new services and functions by third party developers. KT is implementing open platform that is support Widget and SNS service. And Recently Social TV comes into the spotlight. Social TV is combination of social media and TV contents. It is enable to exchange emotion and opinion by communication with other people when watching Video contents. We propose TV SNS Service that provides various services by using advantage of SNS system and Social TV.

Recently, the number of students to choose to study in Australia has been increasing significantly. The purpose of this study is to examine how Korean primary school children perceive their own English language learning and cultural adaptation in Australia. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 34 Korean children aged 8-13 who were attending primary schools in Brisbane, Queensland. The study results show that they made diverse efforts to learn English language and culture in Australia, such as making English-speaking friends, watching TV/video/DVD, reading English books, and studying with a foreign tutor. Their English listening and writing abilities were thought to be improved most, followed by speaking, reading and cultural understanding after studying in Australia. The subjects were mostly satisfied with their study and life in Australia but they had difficulties with communicating in English, homesickness, foods, weather, insects, and discrimination. In particular, they had problems with understanding classes conducted all in English and participating in the classroom activities due to their low level of English ability and understanding of Australian classroom culture. The findings of this study have pedagogical implications for educators both in Australia and Korea.

본 논문은 스테레오 3D 비디오 시청 시 나타날 수 있는 불편감이나 어지러움 증상을 유발하는 요인들을 찾아내어 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그 방법으로 2가지의 스테레오 3D 콘텐츠를 피험자들이 시청을 하고, 시청하는 동안 불편감이나 어지러움 증상이 나타나면 키를 누르게 하여 측정을 하였다. 콘텐츠에 대해서는 관심영역(ROI, Region of Interest)에 대하여 변위의 크기와 변화정도에 대한 데이터 정보를 도출하였다. 그래서 각 콘텐츠에 대해서 도출한 정보를 가지고 피험자들이 콘텐츠를 시청하면서 느낀 불편감과 어지러움에 대한 원인들을 분석하였다.

In this study, remote articulation training system which connects the hearing disabled trainee and the speech therapist via B-ISDN is introduced. The hearing disabled does not have the hearing feedback of his own pronuciation, and the chance of watching his speech organs movement trajectory will offer him the self-training of articulation. So the system has two purposes of self articulation training and trainer's on-line checking in remote place. We estimate the vocal tract articultory movements from the speech signal using inverse modelling and display the movement trajectoy on the sideview of human face graphically. The trajectories of trainees articulation is displayed along with the reference trajectories, so the trainee can control his articulating to make the two trajectories overlapped. For on-line communication and ckecking training record the system has the function of video conferencing and tranferring articulatory data.

For a precise manipulator control in the presence of environmental uncertainties, it has long been recognized that the robot should be controlled in a task-referenced space. In this respect, an effective visual servo control system for robot manipulators based on neural networks is proposed. In the proposed control system, a Backpropagation neural network is used first to learn the mapping relationship between the robot's joint space and the video image space. However, in the real control loop, this network is not used in itself, but its first and second derivatives are used to generate servo commands for the robot. Second, and Adaline neural network is used to identify the approximately linear dynamics of the robot and also to generate the proper joint torque commands. Computer simulation has been performed demonstrating the proposed method's superior performance. Futrhermore, the proposed scheme can be effectively utilized in a robot skill acquisition system where the robot can be taught by watching a human behavioral task.

Surveillance cameras have installed in many places because security and safety is becoming important in modern society. Through surveillance cameras installed, we can deal with troubles and prevent accidents. However, watching surveillance videos and judging the accidental situations is very labor-intensive. So now, the need for research to analyze surveillance videos is growing. This study proposes an algorithm to track multiple persons using SURF and background subtraction. While the SURF algorithm, as a person-tracking algorithm, is robust to scaling, rotating and different viewpoints, SURF makes tracking errors with sudden changes in videos. To resolve such tracking errors, we combined SURF with a background subtraction algorithm and showed that the proposed approach increased the tracking accuracy. In addition, the background subtraction algorithm can detect persons in videos, and SURF can initialize tracking targets with these detected persons, and thus the proposed algorithm can automatically detect the enter/exit of persons.

Animated images formats such as WebP are highly portable graphics formats that are being used everywhere on the Internet. Despite their small sizes and duration, WebP image previews the video without watching the entire content with minimum bandwidth. This paper proposed a novel method to generate personalized WebP images in the client side using its computation resources. The proposed system automatically extracts the WebP image from climax point using music analysis. Based on user interest, the system predicts the genre using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The proposed method can easily integrate with streaming platforms such as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, and others.

범죄예방 목적으로 주변에 많은 CCTV가 설치되어 있는데 범죄의 상황에 따라 사후조사보다 사전에 대응해야하는 경우가 많다. 이런 경우 사람이 많은 CCTV를 보고 있을 수 없기 때문에 특정 상황 발생시 알람을 울려줄 필요가 있다. 따라것 영상데이터를 분석하여 어떠한 행위인지를 파악해야 하는데 본 연구에서는 급격한 움직임에 따른 히스토그램의 변화에 착안하여 히스토그램 연산을 통한 장면전환검축 기법을 제안한다.

현 디지털 시대에 즈음하여, 영상매체는 강력한 커뮤니케이션 수단으로 우리의 생활과 밀접하게 되었고, 그리고 가장 시각적 노출이 많은 매체로 부상되었다. 매일 90%이상의 사람들이 TV를 시청하고, 그들 대부분이 여가 시간을 TV시청이나 인터넷 이용으로 소비 한다는 사실이 이를 증명해 주고 있다. 급속도로 다변화 되어가고 있는 영상매체와 그 강력한 매체 잠재력에도 불구하고, 그 기능적 활용과 응용에 있어서는 상당히 한정되어 있다는 것이 현실이다. 본 연구는 영상이 가장 강력한 뇌 자극 매체로서, 그 치유 기능의 잠재력을 검증하는 것이 목적이다. 본 논문의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 대체의학의 하나인 색치료 기법을 영상 제작적 요소와 접목하여, 비디오 테라피의 초석이 될 기능적 영상을 제작하였다. 그리고 직장인을 모집단으로 한 25명의 피험자를 대상으로 한 뇌파검사를 통하여 그 효과를 검증하였다.
