옹벽 상단 교통하중의 분포에 따른 옹벽의 수평 토압 분석 (Analysis of Lateral Earth Pressures on Retaining Wall from Traffic Load Distribution)

  • 본 연구에서는 교통시설 하부구조인 옹벽(중력식 옹벽)에 가해지는 수평토압의 크기에 교통하중이 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. 교통시설 하부구조인 옹벽에서 상부 교통하중이 옹벽 안전성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 교통하중으로 인해 옹벽에 유발되는 수평토압은 도로의 차선 수, 차량 하중의 크기 및 옹벽으로부터 떨어진 거리 등의 영향을 받을 것이다. 따라서 이들 변수를 대상으로 수치해석한 결과, 차량하중 이격거리가 옹벽 높이보다 클 경우 수평토압의 변화는 미미하였다. 따라서 상부에 교통하중을 받는 도로옹벽 설계 시 옹벽내측으로부터 교통하중까지의 이격거리가 옹벽의 높이 내의 교통하중만을 고려하는 것이 실용적이고 합리적이다.

  • This study was to analyze the architectural characteristics and facade construction of brick masonry auditorium through the Auditorium of Namsan Primary School in 1936. The results of this study were described separately as follows. 1. The auditorium is located away from the school buildings, and its plane is a chamber of rectangle type with an entrance installed on each of the four sides. 2. The external appearance is Renaissance eclectic style, laid red bricks on the lower wall of the window and having a mansard roof. The front and the rear are symmetric with respect to the projected wall at the center. 3. As to the structure of the building, a concrete lower wall was built on the concrete continuous footing, and the brick wall was constructed on the lower wall. The roof is queen post roof truss, and the wall girders were installed on the brick wall. 4. The auditorium has had a number of repairing and maintenance works, which changed the roof and windows outside and the floor, walls, ceiling, etc. inside. 5. The decorative elements of external appearance include lower wall, brick wall, entrances, windows, roof, and dormer windows. The brick wall gives verticality and solidity to the surface of the wall, and the lower wall and wall girders are connected like a cornice of the wall. The surface of the mansard roof and dormer windows express a stable vertically oriented shape.

  • 토압 및 수압을 받는 지하외벽의 거동을 파악하기 위하여 유한요소를 이용한 수치적 연구를 수행하였다. 지하외벽의 구조설계는 판의 경계조건을 가정하여 이루어지는데 이 가정으로 인하여 잘못된 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 벽체와 기둥의 강성비와 형상비에 따른 모멘트와 전단력의 변화에 대한 변수해석을 수행하였다. 지하외벽의 설계에 적용할 수 있는 수정계수와 설계에의 적용예를 제시하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the method of retrofitting flexural strength and the flexural performance of retrofitted shear walls. There are various ways to reinforce the flexural strength of reinforced concrete shear wall structural systems that have already been built, in the case of that, the external force is increased, and the internal force is insufficient. However, there are various problems, such as excessive flexural stiffness after reinforcement and increasing the thickness and length of the wall. We have developed a retrofit method to solve these problems. The wall end is excavated to place the required vertical rebars, and concrete is poured after placing rebars. This is the same concept as creating wall end boundary elements later on. We also studied the anchorage method of reinforcement and the interaction method between the retrofitting end and the existing wall. The flexural test results for the reinforced concrete shear wall using the studied retrofit method can be predicted according to the sectional analysis and FEM analysis, and there are differences in the plastic hinge length, crack propagation, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation due to the bending depending on the vertical rebar ratio of wall end.

  • Application of anchored or strutted wall system for the earth retention of excavation works in a populated urban area or a poor soil deposit can be limited due to various restrictions. Since the strut becomes longer in a wide excavation site, the stability of an earth retaining wall is decreased, the wall deformation is increased, and the ground settlement is also increased due to an increased buckling or bending deformation of struts. Especially, in a populated urban area, the installation of anchors can be problematic due to the property line of adjacent structures or facilities. Thus, a new concept of earth retaining system like Self-Supported diaphragm Wall can solve several problems expected to occur during excavation in the urban area. In this study, Numerical analyses of counterfort diaphragm wall was introduced and the monitored data from the site was compared with the original results of numerical analyses. Also, in the case of the deep excavation applied the counterfort diaphragm wall, numerical analyses was performed to predict the wall deformation and the reinforcement to reduce the wall deformation was suggested.

  • This paper addresses the optimal design of dividing wall distillation column which is rapidly applied in a variety of chemical processes over recent several years because of its high energy saving efficiency. A general dividing wall column model which can cope with the heat transfer through the dividing wall is developed using rigorous computer simulation. Based on the simulation model, the effects of the internal recycle flow distribution around the dividing wall and the heat transfer across the dividing wall on overall system performance are investigated. An improved method is suggested to utilize the heat transfer through the wall to optimal column design. The suggested method is compared with the existing method via. simulation study and shows more improved energy saving result. Several control strategies for the divided wall column are tested and the optimal control strategy is propose

  • This paper concerns the distribution of earth pressures on a cantilever wall with unattached reinforcements in the backfill. This type of walls is different from the existing reinforced earth walls in that unattached reinforcements are placed in the backfill of rigid retaining wall such as gravity wall and cantilever wall, instead of connecting reinforcements to the wall segments. Two large-scale prototype tests have been carried out with a 4m high cantilever wall; one with unreinforced backfill, the other with unattached strips in the backfill. The reinforcing effect of unattached strips are discussed based on the earth pressure distribution measured in two large-scale prototype tests. Also, the comparison between measured and predicted earth pressure on a wall with unattached strips are discussed herein to confirm the validity of analytical prediction.

혈관 유연성을 고려한 경동맥 분기부 모델 혈류역학 해석 (Numerical Study on Blood Flow Dynamics and Wall Mechanics in a Compliant Carotid Bifurcation Model)

  • Blood flow simulations in an realistic carotid bifurcation model with considering wall compliance were carried out to investigate the effect of wall elasticity on the wall shear stress and wall solid stress. Canonical waveforms of flow rates and pressure in carotid arteries were imposed for boundary conditions. Compared to a rigid wall model, we found an increased recirculation region at the carotid bulb and an overall reduction of wall shear stress in a compliant model. Additionally, there was appreciable change of flow rate and pressure wave in longitudinal direction. Both solid and wall shear stress concentration occur at the bifurcation apex.

벽 근처 전단 유동 내의 입자의 운동 (Behavior of a Heavy Particle in the Shear Flow Near a Flat Wall)

  • The motion of a small rigid particle in the shear flow near a stationary flat wall is investigated in the context of Stokes flow. The lift force proposed by Saffman and later modified by Mclaughlin and Mei is considered in the prediction of the particle motion far away from the wall. Later, the expression of the lift force is modified to take into account the effect of wall. In the analysis, gravity, lift and drag acting on a small rigid particle near the wall are taken into account. Both analytical and numerical results for the terminal velocities, distances from the wall and trajectories of the particle are presented. In addition, we extended the present analysis to turbulent near-wall flow in the vicinity of the wall.

현존 흙집 벽체 재료의 특성 분석(농지조성 및 농어촌정비) (Analyses of Characteristics of the Wall Materials of Existing Earthen Houses)

  • This study has been done to investigate the characteristics of the wall materials of a earthen house ; the core-wall of wood-frame house and the mud-wall of a all wall house. A series of tests was carried out to study the physical and mechanical properties of wall materials which were picked from existing earthen houses. The core-wall materials were composited sandy soil or clayey soil with low plasticity. The mud-wall materials were sandy soil with well compaction effect. It was confirmed that the wall materials were not always using the loess(called Hwang'o) but using the common soils which wee easily picked from the residential quarter.
