  • The purposes of this study were to draw out the situational problems of the community based NGO (Non Governmental Organization) movement and to suggest development strategies for NGO movement in Korea. The study was conducted through extensive review of literature and analysis of the related data. The major findings of this study were as follows; As the development of democracy and localization process were in progress, the community based NGO movement was also developing quantitatively, however not yet qualitatively. The NGO Times Net, a internet newspaper for NGOs revealed that the number of community based NGO was 3,397 as in 2004, which was 5 times larger than 597 central based or Seoul located NGOs. However, some of the problems identified were lower participation of local people, quality of the movement compare to the original purposes of the movement, and the problems in local leadership, etc. In order to overcome various problems, this study suggested some strategies for development such as enhancement of civil education, expansion of voluntary spirits, financial support for NGOs, better mutual understanding among the GOs (Government Organizations), POs(Profit Organizations) and NGOs. Self evaluation and innovative strategies will be needed for further development of NGO movement in Korea.

In order to accomplish the research purpose, data were collected from 202 chefs working at five-star hotels located in Gwangju and Jeonnam areas, and SPSS 22.0 Program was used to conduct frequency analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, regression analysis and mediation effect analysis. The results of the study were as follows. Firstly, it was found that innovative behaviors of hotel chefs are significantly affected by three types of organizational culture: rational culture, consensual culture, and developmental culture. Secondly, it was found that rational and consensual culture have significant effect on rapport. Thirdly, it was found that better-formed rapport in hotel chefs significantly remarkably influences their innovative behavior. Fourthly, the study results revealed that rapport has a mediating effect on the relationship between type of organizational culture and innovative behavior of hotel chefs. Thus, in order to induce voluntary innovative behaviors from building rapport in the hotel organization, it is necessary to develop and implement effective strategies which will form a work environment where chefs can freely engage in mutual exchanges and build trust with one another.

  • Medication adherence is generally defined as the extent of voluntary cooperation of a patient in taking medicine as prescribed. Adherence to long-term treatment with chronic disease is essential for reducing disease comorbidity and mortality. However, medication non-adherence in chronic disease averages 50%. This study was conducted a genome-wide association study to identify the genetic basis of medication adherence. A total of 235 medication non-adherents and 1,067 medication adherents with hypertension or diabetes were used from the Korean Association Resource project data according to the self-reported treatment status of each chronic disease, respectively. We identified four single nucleotide polymorphisms with suggestive genome-wide association. The most significant single nucleotide polymorphism was rs6978712 (chromosome 7, $p=4.87{\times}10^{-7}$), which is located proximal to the GCC1 gene, which was previously implicated in decision-making capability in drug abusers. Two suggestive single nucleotide polymorphisms were in strong linkage disequilibrium ($r^2$ > 0.8) with rs6978712. Thus, in the aspect of decision-making in adherence behavior, the association between medication adherence and three loci proximal to the GCC1 gene seems worthy of further research. However, to overcome a few limitations in this study, defining the standardized phenotype criteria for self-reported adherence should be performed before replicating association studies.

  • This study investigated the environmental indices in environmental administration, and to presents how to develop a sustainable environmental evaluation index. The index should be used to evaluate composite plans in the environmental aspects as well as means for setting goals of basic plans for the environment and its management. Specifically, the goals of composite plans are to check environments and land use frame, and evaluate individual measures (public projects). Environment policies are required to be 'a policy creating a clean environment' from 'a policy of environment regulation'. For the organization of a basic framework of environment policies, five topics are needed to be considered, such as the clarification of the idea of environment, establishment of environment regulations, environment management plan, plan to support civilian's action, and local government's efforts for the global matters of environment. For the amenity environments, people should expand their environmental behavior based on their voluntary intentions in transformation of personal life styles, projects with less load on the environment, development of environmentally-friendly projects with consideration for their impact on the earth. This study suggests that they should put more efforts into the development and implementation of useful environmental indices which effectively analyse the regional character to protect the natural ecology and create an sustainable environment with wide coverage.

  • Continued efforts to build up Safety Management System(SMS) and to improve its efficiency in airports, to which customers have direct access, are taken for granted due to continuous development of the aviation industry in both quantity and quality and rapid growth of air transportation market. This thesis proposed efficient operation methods of SMS for domestic airport organizations including Incheon International Airport(IIA), the largest airport in South Korea, aiming at strengthening aviation safety from the perspective of airport operators who play a pivotal role in service provider SMS. Those are consolidation of the existing safety management organizations and various improvements to promote voluntary incident reporting system. To draw a proposal for the improvements, conducted a research on domestic safety management status, carried out an analysis on operating conditions and did a research on ICAO regulations, domestic legal system as well as statistics data. Relevant studies and researches were also gathered and analyzed. A search for further improvements can also help increase operational efficiency and promoting a higher-level of safety awareness among operators can establish mature safety culture at airports.
