Resonant converters have attracted a lot of attention because of their high efficiency due to the soft-switching performance. An isolated high step-up converter with secondary-side resonant loops is proposed and analyzed in this paper. By placing the resonant loops on the secondary side, the current stress for the resonant capacitors is greatly reduced. The power loss caused by the equivalent series resistance of the resonant capacitor is also decreased. Clamp diodes in parallel with the resonant capacitors ensure a unique discontinuous current mode in the converter. Under this mode, the active switches can realize soft-switching during both turn-on and turn-off transitions. Meanwhile, the reverse-recovery problems of diodes are also alleviated by the leakage inductor. The converter is essentially a step-up converter. Therefore, it is helpful for decreasing the transformer turn-ratio when it is applied as a high step-up converter. The steady-state operation principle is analyzed in detail and design considerations are presented in this paper. Theoretical conclusions are verified by experimental results obtained from a 500W prototype with a 35V-42V input and a 400V output.

This paper describes the performance improvement of power control system of magnetron (MGT) for microwave oven. The MGT is used extensively in household microwave oven and industrial microwave heating devices, and is operated by 3.0[kV] $\∼$5.0[kV] dc high voltage. The proposed power supply is consisted of a bridge rectifier, step-up converter(SUC) and its controller, half bridge inverter(HBI) and its controller, and full wave double voltage rectifier(DVR). In the proposed system, a good power factor can be obtained by the SUC' switching method that the inductor current waveforms follows that of the rectified voltage, and a line input power can be controlled to a range of 17.5[$\%$] by duty ratio (DR) adjustment of the HBI.

This paper is to study on the step-up DC-DC converter for power system which yields output characteristics of low voltage and high current, such as fuel cell generation system. DC-AC-DC scheme is suggested for high ratio of voltage conversion. Three phase MOSFET-SPWM inverter is adopted for intermediate AC conversion and inverter output frequency is chosen at 400[Hz] in order to reduce the size of magnetic circuit and DC filter. Since control strategy which combines voltage controller with current controller in parallel is used, good output performance is obtained both in steady state and in transient state like load variation, not only in single unit operation but also in parallel operation.

In this study, we propose a small high voltage power supply, which uses a half-bridge ZCS resonant and Cockroft-Walton circuit as its ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator). This power supply transfers energy from the ZCS resonant inverter to the step-up transformer. The transformer secondary is then applied to the Cockroft-Walton circuit for generating high voltage as a discharging source of electrodes. It is highly efficient because its amount of switching losses are reduced by virtue of the current resonant half-bridge inverter, and also due to the small size, low parasitic capacitance in the transformer stage owing to the low number of winding turns of the step up transformer secondary combined with the Cockroft-Walton circuit. Using this power supply, experiments have been carried out as a function of the switching frequency and duty ratio in order to investigate the smoke removal characteristics. From these results, the best operational condition is obtained at the switching frequency of 9 kHz and the duty ratio of 50% in this ESP.
The solar cells should be operated at the maximum power point because its output characteristics are greatly fluctuated on the variation of insolation, temperature and load. The output power of solar cell is DC, therefore it is necessary to install an inverter among electric power converts. The inverter have to supply a sinusoidal current and voltage to the load and the interactive utility line. In the paper, the proposes a photovoltaic system designed with a step up chopper and single phase PWM voltage source inverter. Synchronous signal and control signal was processed by microprocessor for stable modulation. The step up chopper operates in continuous mode by adjusting the duty ratio so that the photovoltaic system tracks the maximum power point of solar cell without any influence on the variation of insolation and temperature because solar cell has typical dropping character. The single phase PWM voltage source inverter consists of complex type of electric power converter to compensate for the defect, that is, solar cell cannot be developed continuously by connecting with the source of electric power, from 10 to $20\%$. The single phase PWM voltage source inverter operates in situation that its output voltage is in same phase with the utility voltage. The inverter supplies an ac power with high factor and low level of harmonics to the load and the utility power system.
This paper presents a new structure for a step up dc-dc converter, which has several advantageous features. Firstly, the input dc source and the clamped capacitor are connected in series to transfer energy to the load through dual voltage multiplier cells. Therefore, the proposed converter can produce a very high voltage and a high conversion efficiency. Secondly, a double voltage clamped circuit is introduced to the primary side of the coupled inductor. The energy of the leakage inductance of the coupled inductor is recycled and the inrush current problem of the clamped circuits can be shared equally by two synchronous clamped capacitors. Therefore, the voltage spike of the switch tube is solved and the current stress of the diode is reduced. Thirdly, dual voltage multiplier cells can absorb the leakage inductance energy of the secondary side of the coupled inductor to obtain a higher efficiency. Fourthly, the active switch turns on at almost zero current and the reverse-recovery problem of the diodes is alleviated due to the leakage inductance, which further improves the conversion efficiency. The operating principles and a steady-state analysis of the continuous, discontinuous and boundary conduction modes are discussed in detail. Finally, the validity of this topology is confirmed by experimental results.

The solar cells should be operated at the maximum power point because its output characteristics are greatly fluctuated on the variation of insolation, temperature and load. Photovoltaic system needs an inverter which can interface the dc output power of solar cell with the residential ac load. The inverter has to supply a sinusoidal current and voltage to the load and the utility line with a high power factor. This paper proposes an utility interactive photovoltaic system designed with a step-up chopper and a PWM voltage source inverter. The step-up chopper operates in continuous mode by adjusting the duty ratio so that the photovoltaic system tracks the maximum power points of solar cell without any influence on the variation of insolation and temperature. The voltage source inverter operates in a manner that its output voltage is in phase with the utility voltage. The inverter supplies an ac power with high factor and low level of harmonics to the load and the utility power system.
A non-isolated high voltage gain bidirectional DC-DC converter for battery storage system has been presented in this paper. The topology is composed of boost converter and traditional SEPIC converter. The proposed converter can achieve higher voltage conversion ratio with reduced voltage and current stresses in the switches. In additional, a reduced number of components are included in this topology. The PSIM simulation is carried to validate the analysis and operation of the converter.

In the conventional boost converter, the actual duty cycle is limited as the output voltage increases due to increased voltage and current stress of the switch and diode and voltage surge caused by diode reverse recovery. In this paper a new non-isolated boost converter suitable for high gain applications is proposed. The proposed converter has voltage gain of around 6 when the duty cycle is 0.5. Since ZVS is achieved under CCM, the proposed converter has wide ZVS range. Also, voltage ratings of switch and diode are the same as one third of output voltage, and ratings of input and output passive components are reduced due to the interleaving. In addition voltage surge caused by diode reverse recovery is negligible due to ZCS turn-off of diodes. Operating principle of the proposed converter is described and validated through theoretical analysis, simulation and experiment.

In order to fabricate the multilayer piezoelectric transformer by tape casting method, we investigated the effect of $TiO_2$ and PZT powder additions on the Ag/Pd electrode. Meanwhile, effects of $TiO_2$ and PZT powder additives on the microstructure and electrical properties of Ag/Pd electrode were investigated in detail. In addition, the multilayer piezoelectric transformers were fabricated and the characteristics with various load resistance were measured at resonance frequency. The voltage step-up ratio was continuously change with increasing input voltage and load resistance, and then output voltage and powers were increased with increasing input voltage at matching impedance. The temperature rise of multilayer piezoelectric transformers were increased with increasing input voltage and load resistance. Meanwhile, multilayer piezoelectric transformers sintered at $1100^{\circ}C$ show the favorable characteristics with a power of 15 W at $100\;{\Omega}$.
