This paper presents a set of techniques used in a real-time visual surveillance system. The system is implemented on a low-cost embedded DSP platform that is designed to work with stationary video sources. It consists of detection, a tracking and a classification module. The detector uses a statistical method to establish the background model and extract the foreground pixels. These pixels are grouped into blobs which are classified into single person, people in a group and other objects by the dynamic periodicity analysis. The tracking module uses mean shift algorithm to locate the target position. The system aims to control the human density in the surveilled scene and detect what happens abnormally. The major advantage of this system is the real-time capability and it only requires a video stream without other additional sensors. We evaluate the system in the real application, for example monitoring the subway entrance and the building hall, and the results prove the system's superior performance.

In this study, we performed a study to track the angle between the guided weapon and the target by using the strap-down image seeker, and constructed a test bed that can simulate it visually. This paper describes a method to maintain high-performance feature distribution in the implementation of sparse feature tracking algorithm such as Lucas Kanade's optical flow algorithm for target tracking using image information. We have extended the feature tracking problem to the concept of feature management. To realize this, we constructed visual environment using Unity3D engine and developed image processing simulation using OpenCV. For the co-simulation, dynamic system modeling was performed with Matlab Simulink, the visual environment using Unity3D was constructed, and computer vision work using OpenCV was performed.

Vertigo is one of the most common complaints encountered by physicians and the patients are steadily increasing. These patients are exposed to the risk of secondary accidents such as falls due to vertigo. There are two ways to improve this symptom: medication and rehabilitation. Although temporary symptomatic improvement may be expected in patients treated with medication, vertigo may recur and medication can delay central compensation. In contrast vestibular rehabilitation exploits central mechanisms of neuroplasticity to increase postural stability and enhance visual-vestibular interactions in situations that generate conflicting sensory information. However, vestibular rehabilitation may be compromised by incorrect performance of exercises, and there is a need for active effort and interest from the patient during rehabilitation. To solve these problems, we decided to apply FOVE HMD for eye-tracking and Unity3D to create virtual reality. The proposed eye-tracking based algorithm calculates the concentration of users with eye tracking data and calculates the motion width of the patient with nystagmus, thus the severity of the patient according to the score can be determined. According to our experimental test against healty group and patients group, this result showed the meaningful data to use define the contents result.
Although tracking methods are efficient and popular for vessel segmentation, they require a seed to initiate an instance of tracking. In this paper, a new method to detect new seeds for tracking of arterial segments from CT angiography (CTA) and to construct a vascular structure is proposed. The proposed algorithm is based on shape analysis of connected components in a volume of interest around a vessel segment which was already extracted by tracking. The eigenvalues of the covariance matrix are used as the shape features for detection. The experimental results on actual clinical data showed that the results totally revealed the arterial tree not hindered by bone or veins. In visual comparison to a method which combines registration and subtraction of both pre-contrast and post-contrast CT volumes, the proposed method produced comparable results to the reference method and were confirmed of its feasibility for clinical use of reducing the cost and burden of patients.

Nowadays, the complexity of object tracking models among hardware applications has become a more in-demand duty to complete in various indeterminable environment tracking situations with multifunctional algorithm skills. In this paper, we propose a virtual city environment using AirSim (Aerial Informatics and Robotics Simulation - AirSim, CityEnvironment) and use the DQN (Deep Q-Learning) model of deep reinforcement learning model in the virtual environment. The proposed object tracking DQN network observes the environment using a deep reinforcement learning model that receives continuous images taken by a virtual environment simulation system as input to control the operation of a virtual drone. The deep reinforcement learning model is pre-trained using various existing continuous image sets. Since the existing various continuous image sets are image data of real environments and objects, it is implemented in 3D to track virtual environments and moving objects in them.

Multiplexing information over parallel data channels based on RF MIMO concept is possible to achieve considerable data rates over large transmission ranges with just a single transmitting element. Visual multiplexing MIMO techniques will send independent streams of bits using the multiple elements of the light transmitter array and recording over a group of camera pixels can further enhance the data rates. The proposed system is a combination of the reliance on computer vision algorithms for tracking and OOK cell frame modulation. LED array are controlled to transmit message in the form of digital information using ON-OFF signaling with ON-OFF pulses (ON = bit 1, OFF = bit 0). A camera captures image frames of the array which are then individually processed and sequentially decoded to retrieve data. To demodulated data transmission, a motion tracking algorithm is implemented in OpenCV (Open source Computer Vision library) to classify the transmission pattern. One of the most advantages of proposed architecture is Computer Vision (CV) based image analysis techniques which can be used to spatially separate signals and remove interferences from ambient light. It will be the future challenges and opportunities for mobile communication networking research.

It is important to detect dangerous objects which are intentionally abandoned in public places. Nowadays visual surveillance system is required to enhance the performance in two ways : high resolution and wireless linking ability. In this study the design of visual surveillance system is newly proposed to detect abandoned objects for social security purpose based on wireless high resolution image transmission technology. Also, to enhance PED, PAT performance, the tracking algorithm is included in the previous visual surveillance software scheme. By implementing proposed design scheme on the real wireless high resolution image transmission system, the effectiveness of the overall system is shown with the transmission performance of 4.0 Gbps speed.

Correlation Filter was recently demonstrated to have good characteristics in the field of video object tracking. The advantages of Correlation Filter based trackers are reflected in the high accuracy and robustness it provides while maintaining a high speed. However, there are still some necessary improvements that should be made. First, most trackers cannot handle multi-scale problems. To solve this problem, our algorithm combines position estimation with scale estimation. The difference from the traditional method in regard to the scale estimation is that, the proposed method can track the scale of the object more quickly and effective. Additionally, in the feature extraction module, the feature representation of traditional algorithms is relatively simple, and furthermore, the tracking performance is easily affected in complex scenarios. In this paper, we design a novel and powerful feature that can significantly improve the tracking performance. Finally, traditional trackers often suffer from model drift, which is caused by occlusion and other complex scenarios. We introduce a relocation component to detect object at other locations such as the secondary peak of the response map. It partly alleviates the model drift problem.

We propose a target identification algorithm for visual tracking. Target identification is realized by finding out corresponding line segments to the hypothesized model segments of the target. The key idea is the combination of the Mahalanobis distance with the geometrical relationship between model segments and extracted line segments.

In this paper, the algorithm which improve the efficiency of surveillance in spite of the change of light is proposed and confirmed by virtue of the experiments. One of the problems for the implementation of visual surveillance system is the image processing technique to overcome with the variations of illumination lights. Some conventional systems are generally not considered the error due to the change of lights because the system use at indoor. In practical, the factors of bad image can be classified to the ghosts due to the reflection of lights and shadows in a scene. Especially weak images and noises at night are decreased the performance of visual surveillance system. In the paper, the filter which improve the images with some change of illumination lights is designed and the gabor filter is used for recognition and tracking of the moving objects. In the results, the system showed that the recognition and tracking were obtained $92\sim100%$ of recognition rate at daytime, but $80\sim90%$ of nighttime.
