Creutzfelt Jacob Disease 의증 환자에 대한 임상보고 (A Case Study of the Creutzfelt Jacob Disease Suspected Patient)

  • 1. Objectives Creutzfelt Jacob Disease is one of a group of neurodegenerative disorders causing spongiform encephalopathies due to a infection of prion or unconventional slow virus on central nerve system. The diagnosis of this disease is not easy and there is currently no cure. This article is to report our case about a female patient who was not diagnosed as CJD at the early period so that we treated her with Yangkyuksanhwa-tang(凉膈散火湯) and Jihwangbaekho-tang(地黃白虎湯). 2. Methods Magnetic resonance imaging(brain MRI), blood test and computer tomography were performed. The treatment for this patient was clinically based on Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 3. Results and Conclusions (1) Visual field defect, ataxia, myoclonus, sweating and dysuria were the main symptoms of the patient. (2) The pathological change in parenchyme was not revealed during the early periods by MR imaging. So the diagnosing CJD was not possible during the time in this case. (3) Jihwangbaekho-tang(地黃白虎湯) improved her myoclonus and sweating. Bur her mental disorder and the progress of the pathological change in the parenchyme was not able to be treated.

3차원 안면자동인식기의 Positioning 오차분석 (An Positioning Error Analysis of 3D Face Recognition Apparatus)

  • 1. Objectives We are going to develope 3D Face Recognition Apparatus to analyse the facial characteristics of the Sasangin. In the process, we should identify the recognition rate of the three dimensional position using this Apparatus. 2. Methods We took a photograph of calibrator($280{\times}400mm$) with interval of 20mm longitudinal direction of 10 times using 3D Face Recognition Apparatus. In the practice, we obtained 967 point to the exclusion of points deviating from the visual field of dual camera. And we made a comparison between measurement values and three dimensional standard values to calculate the errors. 3. Results and Conclusions In this test, the average error rate of X axis values was 0.019% and the maximum error rate of X axis values was 0.033%, the average error rate of Y axis values was 0.025% and the maximum error rate of Y axis values was 0.044%, the average error rate of Z axis values was 0.158% and the maximum error rate of Z axis values was 0.269%. This results exhibit much improvement upon the average error rate 1% and the maximum error rate 2.242% of the existing 3D Recognition Apparatus. In conclusion, we assessed that this apparatus was adaptable to abstract the facial characteristic point from three dimensional face shape in the mechanical aspects.

시각신경 MR 검사 시 다중 각도 스캔 기법의 유용성 평가 (Evaluation of usefulness of multi directional angles oblique scan method in optic nerve MRI)

  • 본 연구는 입체적 분포를 형성한 시각신경계에 대하여 MRI 시스템의 경사자기장으로써 하나의 스캔 대상단면을 3차원 형태의 여러 방향으로 향하게 하는 다중사위 스캔각도의 변화에 관하여 실험하였고 기존의 단순각도 사방향 검사방법과 비교 고찰 하였다. 입체적 분포를 이루는 뇌의 시각신경계에 대하여 MR 시스템의 경사자기장으로써 국내 정상 성인을 대상으로 시각신경의 사위영상화를 위한 기존의 사위(시상-관상단면) 스캔방법과 다중사위(시상-관상-횡단면) 스캔각도의 변화를 실험하였다. 그 결과 다중각도를 이용한 사위스캔 방법이 기존의 스캔방법에 비해 더 넓은 영역의 해부학적 정보를 나타내는 것을 영상으로 확인하였다. 또한 시각신경을 명료하게 나타내기 위해서는 영상단면두께와 펄스시퀀스의 선택도 고려되어야할 것으로 확인 되었다.

  • 실제 영업선에서 분니가 자주 발생되는 구간을 선정하여 현재 분니 대책공법으로 많이 사용하고 있는 도상자갈치환방법과 토목섬유 보강공법에 대하여 약 3년간 육안조사를 실시하여 분니 발생 여부를 관찰하였다. 토목섬유로 보강된 단면이 도상자갈 치환방법보다 상당히 장기간에 걸쳐 분니를 억제하는 효과와 분니 억제를 위한 토목섬유 부직포의 중량은 최소 $330N/m^2$ 이상을 만족하는 재료로 선정하여야 효과가 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 실제 열차하중이 작용하는 도상자갈 하부(침목하면으로부터 약 35cm)에서의 지오그리드의 횡 종방향 인장변형율(%) 범위는 각 각 0.0078~0.0385%와 0.016~0.1211%으로 종방향 인장변형율이 횡방향 인장변형율보다 약 10배 이상 큰 값을 보였다.

만성 관절 통증 여성 노인환자에 있어 관절염 태극권의 효과에 대한 pilot study (The Effects of Tai Chi for Arthritis on Chronic Arthritic Pain of Senior Female : A Pilot Study)

  • Objectives : Tai Chi for arthritis was developed in 1997 by Paul Lam, M.D. of family medicine in Australia. It is an exercise treatment program and a good approaching method for arthritis. However its application is limited to arthritis of knee joint only. Even there have been no clinical study in korean traditional medical society. The aim of this study is to investigate effect of the Tai Chi for arthritis on chronic pain of body. Methods : We designed this trial as objectives were (1) senior female over 60 years, (2) suffering for osteoarthritis and chronic body pain, (3) have no physical or mental dysfunctions (4) able to walk and exercise alone. Objectives mactched these criteria had been trained the Tai Chi for arthritis 2 hours a day for 21 weeks. Before and after training, pain of 8 joints (neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, waist, hip, knee, ankle) were estimated with the VAS(Visual Analog Scale). Results : Training the Tai Chi for arthritis relieved multiple joint pain(especially neck, lower back, shoulder, wrist and knee) and these were statistically significant. Conclusions : This study is a pilot study to investigate effect of the Tai Chi for arthritis on chronic pain of whole body. Absence of control group, and other scale to test joint function except VAS were limitations of this study. It is the first clinical approach about Tai Chi in korean medicine field, also the first study of Tai Chi for pain of the whole body.

편측 시야 차단이 동적균형에 미치는 영향에 관한연구 (An experimental study on the dynamic balance when obscuring vision in half of the both eye)

  • This study was conducted to find out effect of dynamic balance performance in normal adult when obscuring vision in half of the both eye and to prepare the basic data treatment of brain damage patient with visual field deficit. The subject for this study included 40 healthy right-handed and 20 left-handed were dynamic balance performance when obscuring vision in half of the both eye. who age from 20 to 30 years in normal adult without neurosurgical orthopedic, performance balance disability or other medical disorders. Of these individuals 20 right-handed and 20 left-handed were executed dynamic balance performance when obscuring vision in half of the both eye. individuals of right, left-handed were executed dynamic performance when obscuring vision in half of the both eye measure with a Balance Performance Monitor (BPM) Data print Software Version 5.3. In other to determine the statitsical significance of the result, instrumentation was used to t-test, chisquare of the SAS(Strategic Application Software) The result of the study were that: 1) Significant differences in LOS were found right-handed and left-handed subject when dynamic performance without obscuring vision and obscuring vision(p<0.05). 2) Significant differences in LOS were founded left-handed when dynamic performance were executed obscuring vision and without obscuring vision(p<0.05). 3) Significant differences in LOS were founded right-handed when dynamic performance were executed obscuring vision and without obscuring vision(p<0.05).

가상 자전거 시스템을 이용한 노인의 자세균형 증진에 관한 연구 (Study on the Improvement of Postural Balance of the Elderly using Virtual Bicycle System)

  • In this paper, a new rehabilitation training system was developed to improve equilibrium sense of the elderly by combining virtual reality technology with a fixed exercise bicycle. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the training system, the elderly participated as test subject in the investigation of the influence of different the parameters on postural balance control. We measured three different running modes of virtual bicycle system with two successive sets. The parameters measured were running time, velocity, the weight movement, the degree of the deviation from the road, and the variables about the center of pressure. The repeated training, our results showed that the running capability of the elderly improve compared. In addition, it was found out that the ability of postural control and the equilibrium sense was improved with the presentation of the visual feedback information of the distribution of weight. From the results of this experiment, we showed that our newly developed system might be useful in the diagnosis of equilibrium sense or in the improvement of the sense of sight and, somatic, and vestibular sense of the elderly in the field of rehabilitation training.

Research on Effective Information Visualization Method Based on Mobile Web

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to recognize the role and necessity of public data visualization through prior research, investigation, and data verification processes. In addition, this study intends to check what factors should be considered in order to visualize data on the mobile web. Through this process, by identifying the cognitive load affecting information visualization by type, as a result, I would like to propose an effective information visualization method to effectively deliver public data related to government policies. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, we analyzed the case of information visualization according to infographics, which has been widely used in the public field among various visualization methods. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted for young people in their 20s and 30s with the highest mobile usage rate. Results: Based on the results, IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) was performed to conduct cognitive load test tools for information visualization of public data and confirmed the implications for each type of infographics. Conclusions: As a result of research, in order to efficiently deliver public data on the mobile web, first, it is necessary to construct a visual screen that can be easily identified through clear data. Appropriate graphic elements can be used according to the type to make it easier for users to acquire and understand information. Second, it is necessary to provide useful content in visualizing information. Third, in order to efficiently transmit information and increase understanding of data, it is necessary to visualize information that can induce interest in data and form metaphors. Fourth, it is necessary to visualize information to reduce cognitive load in terms of physical and mental aspects in order to accommodate users' comfortable information. Fifth, in order to effectively deliver public data, it is necessary to compose contents and information that are easy for users to understand. This study examines effective information visualization methods to increase the communication effect of public data in response to changes in the data-based intelligent information society and suggests implications for each type considering cognitive loads to help future public institutions to communicate and accept information.

Effect of Fluoxetine on the Induction of Long-term Potentiation in Rat Frontal Cortex

  • Serotonin (5-hydroxytroptamine, 5-HT) has been shown to affect the induction of long-term potentiation (LTP) in the cortex such as the hippocampus, the visual cortex and the prefrontal cortex. Fluoxetine, as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, is used in the management of a wide variety of psychological diseases. To study the effect of fluoxetine on the induction of LTP, we recorded the field potential in layer II/III of the frontal cortex from 3-wk-old. LTP was induced in horizontal input by theta burst stimulation (TBS). TBS with two-folds intensity of the test stimulation induced LTP, which was blocked by application of D-AP5 $(50 {\mu}M)$, an NMDA receptor antagonist. Whereas bath application of 5-HT $(10 {\mu}M)$ inhibited the induction of LTP, treatment with the 5-HT depleting agent, para-chloroamphetamine $(PCA,\;10{\mu}M)$, for 2hr did not affect the induction of LTP. Bath application of fluoxetine (1, 3, and $10 {\mu}M)$ suppressed the induction of LTP in concentration-dependent manner, however, fluoxetine did not inhibit the induction of LTP in 5-HT-depleted slices. These results indicate that fluoxetine may inhibit the induction of LTP by modulating serotonergic mechanism in the rat frontal cortex.

구리광산에 적용된 부분단면굴착기용 국산 코니컬 픽커터의 성능평가 연구 (Performance Evaluation of Conical Picks for Roadheader in Copper Mines)

  • 로드헤더는 커팅헤드에 픽커터를 설치하여 지반을 굴착하는 장비이다. 픽커터는 일반적으로 코니컬타입을 사용하며, 코니컬 픽커터는 선단부에 마모에 강한 텅스텐카바이드 팁을 사용하여 커터의 소모를 감소시키는 굴착 도구이다. 본 연구에서는 구리광산의 망토와 역암으로 구성된 복합지반을 대상으로 로드헤더 커팅헤드에 3종류의 코니컬 픽커터를 사용하여 내구성능을 살펴보았다. 현장적용 후, 픽커터의 육안조사와 중량감소율 측정, 그리고 CT 및 SEM을 이용한 내 외부 균열조사를 수행한 결과, 하드페이싱으로 보강한 코니컬 픽커터의 내구성능이 가장 우수하였으며, 각 코니컬 픽커터의 내 외부에서는 현장적용 전과 후 모두에서 매크로 크랙 및 미세균열을 발견할 수 없었다.
