Suggesting A Concept of 3D Spatial Event Information Control System for Visitor Flow Control in Multi Complex Building (다중이용시설물 이용객의 흐름관리를 위한 3D 기반 공간 이벤트 정보 관리시스템의 개념 제안)

  • A controller who is responsible for visiter's safety makes a decision about measures for visiter safety in human-based decision making process. Many potential accidents that are caused by human error lurk in results of the process. The accidents can be decreased by changing the decision making process from human-based into technology-based. Technology-based decision making process can catch a controller's attention through data filtering, alarm filtering, and so on. So, the controller can get information on occurrence of an unforeseen accident pro-actively. The objective of this study is to suggest a concept of 3D spatial information control system for visitor flow control in multi complex building using technology-based decision making process. This study shows utilization of the system and contribution.

Marketing for Real and Virtual Museums: A marketing Model to Explain Visitor Behavior in Real Museums and an Outlook on its Applicability to Virtual Museums

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain more insight into the explanation and prognosis of consumer behavior in real and virtual museums. The analysis focuses on the influence of the museum environment on the museum patrons (rather than on the influence of the art objects). On the basis of the emotional approach to environmental psychology by Mehrabian and Russell (1974), a behavior model has been developed for museums. The model, which is based on the emotional variables pleasure, arousal and dominance (PAD), is also enhanced by cognitive variabies (learning attractiveness, education standard and information demand). The enhancement of the classical model was necessary because cognitive variables play a major role in cultural institutions such as museums: One important objective of museums is the communication of cultural knowledge to visitors. The model is tested empirically using structural equation modeling. 301 visitors were interviewed individually. Two different museum environments were represented using visual stimuli. The theoretical model for museums can be proved empirically. The degree to which the model fits the empirical data was extensively tested. The model showed high compatibility with the data and could be accepted. The study proves that a model can be developed, which explains visitor behavior in museums. The model shows museum designers how museums should be designed to be both emotionally appealing and a learning environment. Based on empirical studies in virtual stores on the Internet, it is discussed whether the research findings in these environments may be applied to virtual museum environments. In order to create an emotionally appealing virtual museum, it is recommended that one uses a 3-dimensional representation to offer various possibilities for interaction and to create a multi-sensual environment that appears highly realistic.

Exploring the Characteristics of scenic landscapes of between the Dulle-gil and the uphill trail in Bukhansan National Park (북한산국립공원의 둘레길과 정상정복형 탐방로의 경관 특성 비교 연구)

  • This is a comparative study focused on the scenic landscape preferences derived from visitors's perceptions at the Dulle-gil and the uphill trail in Bukhansan National Park. Unlike previous landscape assessment methods, this study contains more direct and on-site analysis with methods of understanding the visitors' perceptions by using 'visitor employed photography(VEP)' which requires each visitor to take preferable scenic landscape with one's own smart phone camera. The scenic landscape types at two different trails were categorized and then the types favoring most of participants were verified. There are total number of 16 visual landscape types preferred by participants at both the Dulle-gil and the uphill trail in Bukhansan National Park. As in terms of consensus photography(CP) on the Dulle-gil was found to have more diverse elements including both natural and artificial elements compare to the uphill trail. Furthermore, the perceptually excited node(PEN) at the Dulle-gill were found to be more scattered evenly whereas PEN at the uphill trail were concentrated on the entrance and the top of the mountain. It is necessary to consider that the scenic landscape management at the Dulle-gil and the uphill trail require different approaches. Facilities were set based on careful consideration of distinctive geographical features and vegetation in the Dulle-gil. And the management need to be focus on the 'forested area' maintaining natural state in the uphill trail. Futhermore, the result of the CP and PEN in the trails would be helpful to proceed the next step of landscape perception study depending on characteristics of groups.

Spatial Structure Analysis of Traditional Periodical Market using Space Syntax Method (공간구문론을 활용한 전통정기시장 공간구조분석 -평창 대화장을 중심으로-)

  • Due to the decline of a rural community, traditional periodic markets regarded as a center of an agricultural village have been gradually downsized. While researchers have made a counterproposal to revitalize the traditional periodic markets, there has limit in examining how space structure of the traditional periodic markets affect visitors. Thus this study aims to analyze space structure and visitor circulation using a space syntax, a quantitative analysis focusing on PyeongChang Daehwa market. The finding revealed high degree of unification and clearness which means overall space structure was efficient for visitors to recognize and move across the space. However, there is required to build strategies encouraging consumption. The result of analyzing visitor circulation showed the degree of unification is the highest in visitor circulation where center of the market or main facilities is located. In sum, in order to revitalize deserted traditional periodic markets, rural communities need to work out strategies to encourage consumption and expand both information desk and convenience facilities.

An Analysis of Degree of Visitor Concentration of Forested National Parks Using the Gini Coefficients and Lorenz Curve (지니계수와 로렌츠곡선을 이용한 산악형 국립공원의 탐방집중도 분석)

  • This study tried to estimate the concentration indices of 15 forested national parks using Gini coefficient and Lorenz curve which can be measure the degree of inequality. The concentration indices were estimated by two parts which are yearly index for the periods of 1997-2005 and travel origin area(city or province) distribution index each national park. The empirical results were as follows: first, yearly Gini coefficients showed severe inequality. Particularly, 2004 and 2005 Gini coefficients were .453 and .446. which are intensive inequality compared with other years. Second, in travel origin area distribution each national park, Gini coefficients of Bukhansan and Kyeryungsan national park were .916 and .855 which are the great inequality compared with other national parks. The other hand, Gini coefficients of Dukyusan and Byunsanbando national parks were .508 and .628 which are the lowest inequality. The national park policy manager should find out the factors of concentration and deconcentration each year and national park and decided the visitor distribution policy which visitor size and scope for balancing the natural resources use.

  • Hallasan National Park is facing dramatic increase of visitors since no entrance fee charge effected in January of 2007 and it has created a concern about appropriate use levels. The overall objective of this study is development of the carrying capacity indicators management program using indicator and standard based on visitor experience and resource protection (VERP) model. The result of delphi survey identified eight potential indicators of resource and experiential conditions, including quality of valley water, visitor counts, trail impacts, crowding etc. Also, Data were also gathered to help provide an empirical foundation for setting standards for these indicator variables. The carrying capacity indicators management program based on VERP model estimates sustainability of national park and analyze scientifically change about resources and visitor's behavior. Also, it systematically manage and use united data, it supports operation accomplishment respected rational decision.

The Influence of the Sense of Place on Regeneration Space using Idle Industrial Facilities on Visitors' Satisfaction and Length of Stay - Focused on Visitors of Mullae Art Village - (유휴산업시설 재생공간의 장소성이 방문만족도와 체류시간에 미치는 영향 - 문래예술창작촌의 방문자들을 대상으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of visitors' sense of place on regeneration space using idle industrial facilities on visitors' satisfaction and length of stay. For this purpose, this study selected Mullae Art Village in Seoul as a study site and conducted a questionnaire survey focused on visitors. The results of an exploratory factor analysis (EFA), reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis show that among the sense of place factors of Mullae Art Village 'Attractiveness' and 'Meaningfulness' have a positive influence on visitor satisfaction and length of stay. 'Attractiveness' was found to be the most influential factor. 'Historicity' was found to have no effects on visitor satisfaction and length of stay. In addition, visitor satisfaction has a positive influence on duration of stay. These results suggest that it is important to analyze the sense of place of idle industrial facilities. It will be a useful guide for urban space planners in revitalizing and establishing a marketing strategy for these spaces.

A Visitor Study of The Exhibition of Using Big Data Analysis which reflects viewing experiences

  • This study aims to analyze the images of Instagram posts and to draw implcations regarding the exhibition of . This study collects and crawl 24,295 images from Instagram posts as a dataset. We use the Google Cloud Vision API for labeling the images and a total of 212,567 clusters of labels are finally classified into 9 categories using Word2Vec. The categories of museum spaces, photo zone, architecture category are dominant along with people category. In conclusion, visitors curate their experiences and memories of physical places and spaces while they are experiencing with the exhibition. This result reproves the results of previous studies which emphasize a sense of social presence and place making. The convergent approach of art management and art technology used in this study help museum professionals have an insight on big data based visitor research on a practical level.
