Factors Affecting Dental Fear in Korean Adolescents

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the dental fear experienced among Korean adolescents and to identify the relevant factors. Materials and Methods: In order to compare the level of dental fear depending on the subjects' previous experience, descriptive statistical analysis was performed. Gender- and grade-dependent evaluation was performed according to the presence of their previous dental visit and dental fear. Subjective oral health status was also investigated. In order to determine the factors affecting dental fear, logistic regression analysis was performed. Result: Among the total of 333 subjects who had experienced dental fear, females were found to experience 1.766 times greater dental fear than males (P=0.007). The worse subjective perception of their oral health was associated with increase in the experience of dental fear by 1.245-fold (P=0.047). Conclusion: The dental fear was likely to be formed during the visit to the dentist's office or through previous experience of dental treatment. Therefore in order to reduce the fear associated with dental treatment in adolescents, establishemnt of a proper environment in the dental clinic and a patient management program are necessitated.

순서형 로짓 모형을 이용한 여수 아쿠아리움 방문확률의 추정 (The Estimation of a Probability to visit the Yeosu Aquarium with an Ordered Logit Model)

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate a probability to visit the Yeosu Aquarium with an ordered logit model. Ordered logit model is affordable to estimate the probability when the dependant variable represents likert-type scale. The estimated results are as follows. The more income induces the visiting-expectation. The experience for another aquarium and the visiting-expectation for the Yeosu EXPO are contributed to the visiting-expectation for the Yeosu Aquarium. The needs to visit the Yeosu Aquarium is low in Kyoungsang area and Seoul-Kyounggi-Incheun Metropolitan area. This is related to the Aquarium facilities, which were established in each area. In average level conditions regarding to all independent variables the probability to visit the Yeosu Aquarium is calculated to 15.75%. However, the probability to visit to the Yeosu Aquarium is decreasing according to the change of an admission fee.

우리나라 고등학생들의 대륙 및 국가에 대한 인지 특성 (The Characteristics of Cognition on Continents and Nations: In Case of Korean High School Students)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 고등학생들의 대륙에 대한 인지도와 선호도 및 그 관계, 그리고 국가의 위치와 방위에 대한 인지의 특성을 파악하였다. 첫째, 대륙별 인지도의 차이가 크게 나타났으며, 성별 및 해외경험 유무별로 다소 정도의 차이가 있었다. 그리고 대륙별 선호도의 차이도 크게 나타났으며, 성별 및 해외경험 유무에 따라 상당한 영향을 받는 것으로 보인다. 한편, 대륙의 특성에 따라 인지도와 선호도 간에 정적 또는 부적 관계를 보여 주었으며, 성별 및 해외경험 유무별로 다소 정도의 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 국가의 위치에 대한 인지도는 대륙에 대한 인지도와 대체로 정적 관계를 보였고, 우리나라와의 근접성이 상당한 영향을 미치고 있었으며, 이러한 경향은 성별 및 해외경험 유무별로 상당한 차이가 있었다. 또한, 국가 간 동-서 및 남-북 방위 인지도는 경도에 비해 위도의 차이가 클수록 대체로 낮은 경향이 있으며, 성별 및 해외경험 유무별로 정향능력에 상당한 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 우리나라 고등학생이 세계화 시대에 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해서는 지리교육에서 세계의 각 대륙 및 국가에 대하여 균형 있게 인지하는 능력을 길러주는 것이 필요하다.

간호대학생의 지역사회 방문건강관리 실습경험 (Nursing Students' Practice Experience on Community Visiting Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of nursing students' practice on community visiting nursing. Methods: For this study, in-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 12 nursing students, and data were collected through individual in depth interviews from September to December 2018. The data were analyzed using the phenomenological analysis method suggested by Colaizzi. Results: The experience of visiting nursing practice consisted of four themes. Four themes are 'Understanding visiting nursing work: Tight time and problems to overcome', 'Understanding visiting nursing object: People waiting for a visiting nurse', 'Visiting nursing practice experience: Sometimes to get reprimanded but rewarding practice', and 'Expectations for visiting nursing business: Hopes for development'. Conclusion: Findings from this study presented vivid experiences of nursing students who on community home visit nursing. Community visiting nursing practice became an opportunity for students to understand visiting nursing and target people and to think about the necessity of visiting nursing and future development direction. It is necessary to develop an institutional and policy basis with regard to the increasing number and role expansion of community visit nurses.

동아시아 국내 이주여성의 치과방문여부와 구강건강교육유무가 구강건강상태에 미치는 영향 (Influence on Oral Health Condition by Visits to Dental Clinics and Dental Education Experience of East Asian Immigrant Women in Korea)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to figure out and establish the basic data that can help improve management of oral healthcare for the international marriage immigrant women. Methods : In this sense, we surveyed questions on 237 women out of 1,300 immigrant women, who have participated in the program by multi-cultural household supporting center, in a fashion of face-to-face investigation and on-the-spot direct cavity inspection simultaneously from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Collected data were electro-statistically computerized under SPSS 17.0 program and analyzed with frequency analysis, recurrence analysis and logistic regression analysis respectively. Results : The number of filled teeth got lower when they had lower number of dental visits. Women from the Philippines had the highest number of defect teeth, and the number of fixed prosthetic appliance became less when they had less number of dental visits. When they had no experience of oral health education, they had less fixed prosthetic appliances. There was higher percentage of periodontal disease when they did not have dental visit compared with the dental visit cases. Conclusions : Preparation of a policy for east Asian immigrant women for them to visit dentist comfortably and expansion of systematic oral health education are highly recommended.

일부 성인의 치과위생사에 대한 전문직업인 이미지 관련요인 (Factors affecting the professional image of dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: To provide basic information for improving the professional image of the dental hygienist among adults who visit the dentist. Methods: From December 5, 2018 to January 25, 2019, 214 adults in Seoul or Gyeonggi filled out a Google online questionnaire. Data were analyzed using t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and multiple regression analysis. Results: The overall average score of the professional image of dental hygienists was 3.59. In addition, there were significant differences in the image according to age, education, and occupation. The image according to the dental visit experience was highest for those providing orthodontic treatment. The difference in professional image recognized by the dental hygienists and the patients was highest in the case of those dental hygienists responding that they had been educated at a four-year university, who were considered as medical practitioners, and were called a dental hygienist. Lastly, the factors related to the professional image of the dental hygienist were positively affected in the case of preventive purpose of visit, and graduate or higher education of the patients. Conclusions: In order to establish the professional image of dental hygienists, public relations for adequate occupational awareness of their work should be continued. Additionally, it is necessary to establish the role through the systematic expansion of the professional image and their being considered as medical professionals, reflecting the reality of the work field.

eCRM 기능이 고객의 웹사이트 방문과 구매에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of eCRM Features on Website Visit and Purchase)

  • 본 연구는 eCRM 솔루션의 기능이 고객의 사이트 방문과 구매에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 먼저 국내외 eCRM 솔루션을 조사한 결과, e-marketing에 속하는 캠페인 / 이벤트 마케팅, 전자우편 마케팅, 설문조사 마케팅 기능과 e-sales에 속하는 추천, 인센티브 / 할인 촉진 기능, 그리고 e-service에 속하는 전자우편 콜센터, 웹 콜센터 기능이 포함되어 있음을 파악하였다. 온라인 설문조사를 통해 수집된 146부의 자료를 분석한 결과, 캠페인 / 이벤트 마케팅, 전자우편 마케팅, 전자우편 콜센터, 웹 콜센터 기능의 경험 정도는 고객의 사이트 '방문'에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 또한, 전자우편 마케팅을 제외한 캠페인 / 이벤트 마케팅, 설문조사 마케팅, 추천, 인센티브 / 할인 촉진, 전자우편 콜센터, 웹 콜센터 기능의 경험 정도는 고객의 '구매'에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 eCRM 기능들은 고객의 사이트 '방문'에는 효과가 있었지만 '구매'에는 효과가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 우리나라 eCRM이 고객성향에 대한 철저한 분석을 통해 실제 구매행동을 유발할 수 있도록 개발되고 구현되어야 함을 시사하고 있다.

레스토랑의 e-Wom 특성이 시간 경과에 따른 방문의도를 중심으로 한 태도 및 방문의도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Restaurants' e-Wom Characteristics on Attitude and Visit Intention: Focused on Visit Intention Over Time)

  • Purpose: With the development of the Internet, consumers can quickly access the electronic word-of-mouth. Consumers seek to reduce uncertainty by referring to the opinions of other consumers about products and services when making purchase decisions. In the food service industry, evaluating a restaurant before an actual visitation is difficult. Therefore, electronic word-of-mouth is important to interact with the customer in restaurants. as it can be used as an exchange of information in which consumers participate and interact with other customers. This study was conducted to verify how online word-of-mouth characteristics (Consensus, Vividness, Neutrality) on attitudes and visit intention from the perspective of social exchange theory. And it was performed to verify the structural relationship between short-term visit intention, mid-term visit and long-term visit intention. Research design, data, and methodology: A survey was conducted on customers who have visited restaurants. Of a total of 312 responses, 306 responses were used, excluding insincere responses and missing values for factors analysis. SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 25.0 were used for statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing was conducted after verifying the validity and reliability of the questionnaire items. Result: The result of the analysis showed that, consensus and neutrality have a positive effect on attitude but not much on vividness. In addition, consensus, vividness, and neutrality have no effect on the short-term visit intention. Finally, the short-term visit intention has a positive effect on mid-term visit intention, and mid-term visit intention has a positive effect on long-term visit intention. Conclusions: Based on the results, this study suggested that it is necessary to have practical implications for marketing and monitoring restaurant reviews in consideration of the characteristics of electronic word-of-mouth. When managing electronic-word-of-mouth, it is necessary to manage the consensus and neutrality is essential to provide sufficient information about the restaurant. The focus should not only be on vividness, such as photos and videos. In addition, restaurants should also provide a good experience for first-time visitors as the short-term visit intention positively affects mid-term and long-term visit intention.

체험적 패션 매장에서 체험 요인이 점포만족도와 점포충성도에 미치는 영향 연구 - 시각적 자극물을 통한 가상 체험을 중심으로 - (The Effects of Experience Factors have on Store Satisfaction and Store Loyalty for Experimental Fashion Stores - Focusing on Virtual Experience by Visual Stimuli -)

  • Fashion stores have to change to fit such the taste of individual customers taste and try to give unique experiences to the customers. They need to develop a special space that entertains customers, and entices them to visit and revitalize the off-line stores. This paper aims to analyze the experimental factors of stores, and how each of the factors impact customer experience in order to find out its effect on store satisfaction and store loyalty. Data was analyzed by using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Results of this study are as follows. First, Visual, Tactile, and Gustatory are the main senses that influence the emotional experience of the customers on a store visit. Second, three factors that influenced customer experience in experimental fashion stores are 'Causing Interest', 'Causing Concern', and 'Causing Relationship.' Third, the 'Causing Interest' factor and the 'Causing Concern' factor showed positive correlation with store satisfaction, while the 'Causing Relationship' factor did not impact store satisfaction, which affected store loyalty. Fourth, each experimental fashion stores can have different effect to consumer satisfaction and loyalty. Also, fashion store brands without an experimental store can cause various effects to consumers when a flagship store with an array of product information is formed. The conclusion drawn from this study will provide a guideline for fashion stores attract faithful customers by improving their store environment.

일부 초등학교 담임교사의 구강보건교육경험유무에 따른 구강건강행태 (Oral health behavior according to oral health education experience in the elementary school teachers)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the oral health behavior according to oral health education experience in the elementary school teachers and to provide the basic data for the development of oral health education program. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 239 elementary school teachers in Busan and Ulsan from May 7 to 31, 2013. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, use of oral health devices, dental clinic visit within a year, purpose of dental clinic visit, subjective oral health condition, place and contents of oral health education, future contents of oral health education, purpose of tooth brushing, recognition of sealant, recognition of dental caries prevention effect of fluoride, and method and frequency of tooth brushing. Data were analyzed by Predictive Analysis Software(PASW) Statistics $19.0^{(R)}$(SPSS Inc., Chicago IL, USA). Results: Of the 239 teachers, 187 teachers had oral health education experience and 52 did not. Those who had oral health education experience reported higher scores in tooth brushing than those who did not. 59.4% of the respondents answered the experience of oral health education in dental clinics. Conclusions: Oral health behavior was different from the experience of oral health education in the elementary school teachers. The teachers are the most important persons influencing on the right tooth brushing habit in the students. So the teachers must take the continuing and systematic oral health education.
