  • A Visual development framework for embedded system is presented based on virtual prototyping. Embedded systems often are used in life critical situation, where reliability is very important. Time_to_market, correctness, user_friendly_design are another features required for embedded system design. However, embedded systems are today designed with an ad hoc approach that is heavily based on earlier experience with similar products. We believe that new design paradigm is needed and it should be based on the use of formal model and visual system to describe the behavior of the system at a high level abstraction. Virtual prototyping has all the required features. It has the following advantages; correct design, clear interface definition, idea experimentation, increased communication. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of VIP/Sim(Virtual Prototyping Simulator), a visionary development framework for embedded system design. New feature such as state polymorphism is augmented to the de_facto standard formal language, statechart, for enhanced dynamic modeling. Actual design experience with VIP/Sim is also discussed.

  • In recent years, researches regarding optimal placement of CCTV(Closed-circuit Television) cameras via architecture modeling has been conducted. However, for analyzing surveillance coverage through actual human movement, the application of VA(Video Analytics) function of IP(Internet Protocol) cameras has not been studied. This paper compares two methods using data captured from real-world cameras and data acquired from a virtual environment. In using real cameras, we develop GUI(Graphical User Interface) to be used as a logfile which is stored hourly and daily through VA functions and to be used commercially for placement of products inside a shop. The virtual environment was constructed to emulate an real world such as the building structure and the camera with its specifications. Moreover, suitable placement of the camera is done by recognizing obstacles and the number of people counted within the camera's range of view. This research aims to solve time and economic constraints of actual installation of surveillance cameras in real-world environment and to do feasibility study of virtual environment.

Distributing data in Virtual-reality: factors influencing purchase intention of cutting tools

  • Purpose: Virtual reality is a unique technology to distribute data and demonstrates user's understanding towards complex products. The objective of this research is to investigate the impact of virtual reality on real world purchase intention of automotive cutting tools in Thailand's exhibitions. Hence, the research framework was constructed by telepresence, perception narrative, authenticity, trustworthiness, functional value, aesthetics, and purchase intention. Research design, data and methodology: Samples were collected from 500 visitors who participated in the selected top two metalworking exhibitions. Mix sampling approach is applied by using non-probability sampling methods of purposive or judgmental sampling, quota sampling, and convenience sampling method, respectively to reach target samples. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM) were used to analyze and confirm goodness-of-fit of the model and hypothesis testing. Results: The results indicate that authenticity, functional value, and trustworthiness induced higher experiential value towards purchase intention. Those variables are stimulated by telepresence and perception narrative towards VR experience. Conclusions: Consumer's purchase intention towards VR experience on engineering cutting tools rely on consumer's sense of authenticity, trustworthiness, and functional value. Hence, marketing practitioners in automotive companies are encouraged to develop VR which focusing on significant factors to enhance consumers purchase intention.

The Effects of Online Brand Community Members' Interactions on Values, Participation, and Brand Loyalty: The Mediating Effects of Virtual Interactivity

  • Purpose: This study identified the effects of the three types of consumer interactions on the utilitarian and hedonic values experienced by community members, their degree of participation, and brand loyalty. In addition, the mediating effect of virtual interactivity between the interactions that occur within the online brand community and the value experienced by community members was also identified. Research design, data and methodology: An online survey was distributed, and the data gathered was analyzed using structural equations modeling. Results: Test results showed that product-information interaction has a positive effect on utilitarian value and interpersonal interaction has a positive effect on hedonic value. Human-computer interaction was found to have a negative effect on hedonic value and no significant effect on utilitarian value. Furthermore, it was revealed that among the three types of interactions, virtual interactivity had a mediating effect only in the relationship between human-computer interaction and hedonic value. Moreover, utilitarian values experienced by community members affected their level of participation which ultimately enhances brand loyalty. Hedonic value did not affect their level of participation within the online brand community. Conclusions: When marketers establish online brand community strategies, they must place elements that can directly help the use of brands and products.

국내 가상수 및 물발자국 산정 연구의 인용관계 동향 분석 (Citation Relationship Trend Analysis of Virtual Water and Water Footprint Studies in Korea)

  • 우리나라는 가상수의 수입 의존도가 높은 국가에 속하여 국가 차원에서 물위기와 식량위기가 우려되고 있다. 이에 따라 최근에 국내에서는 자연환경 및 사회경제 요인을 고려한 가상수 및 물발자국 산정 연구가 꾸준히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 아직까지는 국내의 연구실적이 부족하여 산정방법 및 비교분석은 국외의 선행연구 결과에 크게 의존하고 있다. 2014년 이후에는 국내 농·축산물의 산정결과가 본격적으로 발표되어 국내의 가상수 및 물발자국의 결과를 국내 선행연구와 상호 비교하는 연구가 많아지고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 물발자국 산정 연구의 인용관계를 파악하기 위하여 국내 농·축산물 물발자국 산정연구의 연구동향을 파악하였다. 이를 위하여 국내 연구자들이 최근 10년 동안 국내·외에서 발표한 물발자국 산정 관련 문헌을 중심으로 국외 및 국내 연구자들의 연구결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 국내 물발자국 산정 연구의 문헌 간 인용관계를 파악하여 인용관계도를 작성하였다. 본 연구의 부록에 수록한 가상수 및 물발자국 관련 국내 연구자의 연구실적 모음은 향후 국내에서 가상수 및 물발자국 산정에 관련되는 연구를 수행하려는 연구자에게 국내·의 연구동향에 대한 다양한 정보를 제공할 것이다. 또한 국가 차원에서 효과적인 수자원관리를 위한 국가전략의 수립에 방향성을 제시할 것으로 기대된다.

자동차 안전교육 VR 시뮬레이션 제작을 위한 프레임워크 (Framework for Car Safety Education Virtual Reality Simulation)

  • 최근 몇 년간 가상현실(VR, Virtual Reality) 기술의 등장은 안전교육의 새로운 모델을 제공하여 사용자로 하여금 가상 안전교육 환경에서 재난에 대한 지식습득 및 대응을 가능하게 한다. 그러나 현재 국내외의 연구개발과 관련된 관련 VR 제품은 비교적 간단하고, 특정 사고에 대한 실질적인 교육 방안이 없으며, 안전교육에서 충분히 역할을 할 수 있을 만큼 실용성적이지 않다. 본 논문에서는 재난의 유형 중 자동차 사고를 예시로, 자동차 안전교육 분야에서 적용된 VR 기술의 문제점과 단점을 고찰하고, VR 기술을 기반으로 한 자동차 안전교육의 시스템 프레임워크를 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 자동차 안전교육 시스템은 이용자가 운전 안전의식을 향상시키고, 운전 시 안전지식을 습득하며, 자동차 안전교육에 매우 중요한 운전 안전기술을 습득하는 데 도움이 될 것이라 사료된다. 또한, VR 기술을 기반으로 한 안전교육의 설계와 제작방식은 VR 기술과 통합하여 관련 교재 제품을 개발하고 최종적으로 교육을 도입한다면 현대 교육 교학 이론의 적용에 중요한 참고적 의미를 갖으리라 사료된다.

가상모델로부터 산출된 응력 등가정하중을 이용한 금속 성형품 및 단조품의 형상최적설계 (Shape Optimization of Metal Forming and Forging Products using the Stress Equivalent Static Loads Calculated from a Virtual Model)

  • 본 논문은 응력 등가정하중을 이용하여 금속제조공정에서 원하는 성형품과 단조품의 최종형상을 얻기 위한 형상최적화 방법을 제안한다. 성형품의 최종형상은 블랭크의 형상에 따라 달라지고 단조품의 최종형상은 빌렛의 형상에 따라 달라진다. 따라서 원하는 형상의 제품을 얻기 위해 구조최적화방법 중 형상최적화방법을 적용하였다. 금속성형 공정은 비선형 동적해석을 수행하므로 등가정하중법을 이용한다. 등가정하중법 중 가상모델을 이용한 응력 등가정하중은 등가정하중을 산출하는 새로운 방법으로 재료 특성의 가치를 재정의하여 응력 등가정하중을 계산한다. 본 논문에 포함된 예제를 통해 원하는 제품의 최종형상을 얻기 위한 최적의 블랭크 및 빌렛 형상을 도출하여 제안한 방법의 유용성을 검증한다.

Abiraterone Acetate Attenuates SARS-CoV-2 Replication by Interfering with the Structural Nucleocapsid Protein

  • The drug repurposing strategy has been applied to the development of emergency COVID-19 therapeutic medicines. Current drug repurposing approaches have been directed against RNA polymerases and viral proteases. Recently, we found that the inhibition of the interaction between the SARS-CoV-2 structural nucleocapsid (N) and spike (S) proteins decreased viral replication. In this study, drug repurposing candidates were screened by in silico molecular docking simulation with the SARS-CoV-2 structural N protein. In the ChEMBL database, 1994 FDA-approved drugs were selected for the in silico virtual screening against the N terminal domain (NTD) of the SARS-CoV-2 N protein. The tyrosine 109 residue in the NTD of the N protein was used as the center of the ligand binding grid for the docking simulation. In plaque forming assays performed with SARS-CoV-2 infected Vero E6 cells, atovaquone, abiraterone acetate, and digoxin exhibited a tendency to reduce the size of the viral plagues without affecting the plaque numbers. Abiraterone acetate significantly decreased the accumulation of viral particles in the cell culture supernatants in a concentration-dependent manner. In addition, abiraterone acetate significantly decreased the production of N protein and S protein in the SARS-CoV-2-infected Vero E6 cells. In conclusion, abiraterone acetate has therapeutic potential to inhibit the viral replication of SARS-CoV-2.

식재료 전처리시설의 설치방안 검토 - 경남 창원지역의 사례를 중심으로 - (Review of Establishing Pre-Processing Facility of Agricultural Products - With a Case of Changwon Area -)

  • This paper aims to review how pre-processing facility of agricultural products can be established and operated. First of all, industry and its enterprises of pre-processing agricultural products are analyzed from the national perspective. Especially, five well-known pre-processing business units operated by producers' organizations are introduced including Ansung Machoom Agricultural Cooperative. Changwon City in Gyeongnam Province was chosen for a case study. Demand for local agricultural products by school feeding and other institutional food service in Changwon area is estimated and it is compared with the supply of agricultural products produced in the region. Questionnaire survey was done for school nutritionists and the main results are summarized. In the final stage, basic ideas for pre-processing facility of agricultural products in Changwon area are proposed considering the previous analyses. These ideas include size of the facility, participants and scope of the business, and location. Virtual profitability analysis is also conducted for the facility. Some suggestions for the proposed facility to be more successful in the future are suggested at the conclusion.

고속철도시설물을 위한 3차원정보모델 (3-D Information Model for High-speed Railway Infrastructures)

  • Design of a high-speed railway line requires collaboration of heterogeneous application systems and of engineers with different background. Object-based 3D models with metadata can be a shared information model for the effective collaborative design. In this paper, railway infrastructure information model is proposed to enable integrated and inter-operable works throughout the life-cycle of the railway infrastructures, from planning to maintenance. In order to develop the model, object-based 3-D models were built for a 10km railway among Korea high-speed railway lines. The model has basically three information layers for designers, contractors and an owner, respectively. Prestressed concrete box-girders are the most common superstructure of bridges. The design information layer has metadata on requirements, design codes, geometry, analysis and so on. The construction layer has data on drawings, real data for material and products, schedules and so on. The maintenance layer for the owner has the final geometry, material data, products and their suppliers and so on. These information has its own data architecture which is derived from similar concept of product breakdown structure(PBS) and work breakdown structure(WBS). The constructed RIIM for the infrastructures of the high-speed railway was successfully applied to various areas such as design check, structural analysis, automated estimation, construction simulation, virtual viewing, and digital mock-up. The integrated information model can realize virtual construction system for railway lines and dramatically increase the productivity of the whole engineering process.
