저고도 항공사진을 이용한 3차원 도시 모형 구축 (3D City Model Construction using Low Altitude Aerial Photography)

  • The study aims to propose a method that shall rapidly acquire 3D spatial information of the frequently changing city areas by using the low altitude aerial images taken by the UAV. The artificial 3D model of the artificial structures was constructed using the aerial image data photographed at the test area, calibration data of the non-metric camera and the results of the ground control point survey. Also, the digital surface model was created for areas that were changed due to a number of civil works. Through the above studies, the possibilities of constructing a 3D virtual city model, renewal of 3D GIS database, abstraction of changed information in geographic features and on-demand updating of the digital map were suggested.

  • The use of Hi-Tech in cultural heritage preservation and the promotion of cultural heritage values in general, particularly artifacts, opens new opportunities for attracting tourists while also posing a challenge due to the need to reward high-quality excursions to visitors historical and cultural values. Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Hi-Tech in new building management have been widely adopted in the construction industry; however, Historic Building Information Modeling (HBIM) is an exciting challenge in 3D modeling and building management. For those reasons, the Scan-to-HBIM approach involves generating an HBIM model for existing buildings from the point cloud data collected by Terrestrial 3D Laser Scanner integrated with Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), contributes to spatial historic sites simulation for virtual experiences. Therefore, this study aims to (1) generate the application of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality to Historic Building Information Modeling - based workflows in a case study which is a monument in the city; (2) evaluate the application of these technologies to improve awareness of visitors related to the promotion of historical values by surveying the experience before and after using this application. The findings shed light on the barriers that prevent users from utilizing technologies and problem-solving solutions. According to the survey results, after experiencing virtual tours through applications and video explanations, participant's perception of the case study improved. When combined with emerging Hi-Tech and immersive interactive games, the Historic Building Information Modeling helps increase information transmission to improve visitor awareness and promote heritage values.

  • Recently 3D city models are required for many applications such as urban microclimate, transportation navigation, landscape planning and visualization to name a few. The existing 3D city models mostly target on modeling buildings, but vegetation also plays an important role in the urban environment. To represent a more realistic urban environment through the 3D city model, in this research, an investigation is conducted to extract the position of trees from high resolution IKONOS imagery along with Airborne Laser Scanner data. Later, a tree growth model is introduced to simulate the growth of trees in the identified tree-positions.

Comparative Analysis of Building Models to Develop a Generic Indoor Feature Model

  • Around the world, there is an increasing interest in Digital Twin cities. Although geospatial data is critical for building a digital twin city, currently-established spatial data cannot be used directly for its implementation. Integration of geospatial data is vital in order to construct and simulate the virtual space. Existing studies for data integration have focused on data transformation. The conversion method is fundamental and convenient, but the information loss during this process remains a limitation. With this, standardization of the data model is an approach to solve the integration problem while hurdling conversion limitations. However, the standardization within indoor space data models is still insufficient compared to 3D building and city models. Therefore, in this study, we present a comparative analysis of data models commonly used in indoor space modeling as a basis for establishing a generic indoor space feature model. By comparing five models of IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), CityGML (City Geographic Markup Language), AIIM (ArcGIS Indoors Information Model), IMDF (Indoor Mapping Data Format), and OmniClass, we identify essential elements for modeling indoor space and the feature classes commonly included in the models. The proposed generic model can serve as a basis for developing further indoor feature models through specifying minimum required structure and feature classes.

An Open Standard-based Terrain Tile Production Chain for Geo-referenced Simulation

  • The needs for digital models of real environment such as 3D terrain or cyber city model are increasing. Most of applications related with modeling and simulation require virtual environment constructed from geospatial information of real world in order to guarantee reliability and accuracy of the simulation. The most fundamental data for building virtual environment, terrain elevation and orthogonal imagery is acquired from optical sensor of satellite or airplane. Providing interoperable and reusable digital model is important to promote practical application of high-resolution satellite imagery. This paper presents the new research regarding representation of geospatial information, especially for 3D shape and appearance of virtual terrain. and describe framework for constructing real-time 3D model of large terrain based on high-resolution satellite imagery. It provides infrastructure of 3D simulation with geographical context. Web architecture, XML language and open protocols to build a standard based 3D terrain are presented. Details of standard-based approach for providing infrastructure of real-time 3D simulation using high-resolution satellite imagery are also presented. This work would facilitate interchange and interoperability across diverse systems and be usable by governments, industry scientists and general public.

BIM으로부터 가상도시 구축용 건축물정보의 추출 (Extracting Building Geomety from BIM for 3-D City Model)

  • 본 연구는 다양한 형상과 정보를 가질 뿐만 아니라 신축 및 재건축을 통하여 끊임없이 갱신되는 건물에 대해 3-D GIS를 구축하기 위한 기초자료를 효율적으로 획득하고 관리하기 위한 방법을 제시한다. 먼저 건물정보모델(BIM)과 지리정보시스템(GIS)의 정보모델의 특징들을 비교해 보고, 가상도시 구축을 위한 정보모델인 CityGML과 건물표현을 위한 세밀도를 살펴본 다음, BIM으로부터 CityGML에 따른 건물정보를 추출하기 위한 프로토타입을 구현하여 실행사례를 보인다. 본 연구의 접근방법은 건축설계 및 건축관련 엔지니어링 사무소, 또는 건설회사에서 CAD로 작성한 기존의 건물 및 부지에 관련한 2, 3차원 정보뿐만 아니라 새로운 추세로 자리잡는 IFC 정보를 활용할 수 있어 국가 지리정보시스템내에 건물 외형과 내부 모델을 구축하기 위한 많은 노력을 절감할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.

3차원 가상도시 모델에서 높이맵을 이용한 CNN 기반의 그림자 탐지방법 (CNN-based Shadow Detection Method using Height map in 3D Virtual City Model)

  • 최근 교육, 제조, 건설 등 다양한 응용 분야에서 사실적인 가상환경을 표현하기 위하여 실세계 영상데이터를 활용하는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 특히, 스마트 시티 등 디지털 트윈에 대한 관심이 높아지면서, 항공 영상 등 실제 촬영한 영상을 이용하여 현실감 있는 3D 도시 모델을 구축하고 있다. 그러나, 촬영된 항공 영상에는 태양에 의한 그림자가 포함되어 있으며, 그림자가 포함된 3D 도시 모델은 사용자에게 정보를 왜곡시켜 표현하는 문제를 안고 있다. 그림자를 제거하기 위하여 그동안 많은 연구가 진행되었지만, 아직까지 해결하기 어려운 도전적인 문제로 인식되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 VWorld에서 제공하는 3차원 공간정보를 이용하여 건물의 높이 맵을 포함한 가상환경 데이터 셋을 구축하고, 높이맵과 딥러닝을 이용한 새로운 그림자 탐지 방법을 제안한다. 실험 결과에 의하면, 높이맵을 사용했을 때 기존 방법보다 그림자 탐지 에러율이 감소한 것을 확인할 수 있다.

  • 본 연구는 최근 화두로 떠오르고 있는 가상화폐의 특징에 대해 고찰하고, 도출된 가상화폐의 특징이 어떠한 과정을 거쳐 소비자의 수용에 영향을 미치는지에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 기술수용모형을 사용하였으며, 구조방정식 분석을 통해 연구결과를 도출하였다. 연구결과, 신뢰성과 범용성은 유용성과 용이성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 보안성은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 유용성은 태도와 만족에 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않았으며, 용이성은 유용성과 태도, 만족에 직접적인 영향을 미치고 있었다. 마지막으로 태도와 만족은 이용의도에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 통해 실무에서 가상화폐에 대한 효과적이고, 효율적인 전략을 입안할 수 있을 것이다.
