방진재를 이용한 대형구조물의 철도 진동에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Railway Vibration Isolation of a Large Structure using Isolation Materials)

  • The paper deals with the vibration isolation of a large structure using an experimental technology. In the case of vibration isolation for the vicinity of a subway or a railroad station, most of vibration isolation techniques using isolation materials with high isolation efficiency only, have been applied. Therefore, the quantitative evaluation and design technologies are required for a vibration isolation of large structures. In this study, firstly, vibration characteristics due to train or subway are analyzed. Secondly, the performance of existing vibration isolation materials such as precision isolation material, elastomer is estimated through the experiments. Thirdly, the performance of a tire isolation material and its frame is tested and evaluated. Finally, it is shown that tire isolation materials can be applied to the vibration isolation or vibration reduction of large structures.

인체 진동을 고려한 국내의 대중 교통 수단의 진동환경 평가에 관한연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Vibration′s Environment in the Korean)

  • This paper introduces experimental results related to the vibration ride conditions that a korean male subject experienced in the nationwide railway trains and the express bus. Two types of railway train's Saemaulho and Mugunghwaho. and the express bus were chosen to measure how much the whole-body vibrations on the contact area of the back , hip and feet are exposed to the subject. Measured vibration signals were analysed to assess the rife conditions quantitatively and qualitatively. Analysed results are illustrated to unveil how much typical public transportation system in Korea expose whole-body vibration to passengers. Futhermore, the performance evaluation of their seats were carried out to examine their effectiveness in reducing vibration exposure to passengers.

  • The regression analysis in the six sigma process is used to reduce the vibration of an electric grinder. The vibration characteristics and the contribution of each part to overall vibration of the electric grinder is investigated through various vibration measurements and frequency analysis for the assembled and disassembled one. Then the application of the regression analysis finds out that the rotating components of the armature have more severe contributions to the overall vibration than the frequency components of the fan or the gear part, which is decided with higher value of the coefficient of determination. The unbalance and looseness of the armature and the fan are tested again by the regression analysis in order to decide how much unbalance or looseness should be reduced for the predetermined goal of vibration level of the electric grinder. These results show that the regression analysis can be a valuable tool in production line to decide where and how much faults needs to be adjusted for the reduction of vibration and noise.

  • In general, deflection limit criteria of bridge design specifications would have been considered based on the static serviceability and structural stability. Dynamic serviceability induced from bridge vibration, as a comfort limit, actually has not been included in the criteria. Thus, it is necessary for dynamic serviceability to be considered in bridge vibration problems and for comfort limit on vibration to be needed for evaluating dynamic serviceability of bridges. In this paper, comfort limits of bridge structures considering the time duration exposed by vibration were examined with frequency and time dependent comfort limits, and they were evaluated by using the vibration signals measured from the existing bridges. Therefore, it is resulted that the time-dependent comfort limit considering the duration of vibration is an efficient estimate for evaluating dynamic serviceability of bridges.

  • This paper introduces the mechanical vibration-measurements of vibration on ships(ISO 20283). Regulations and guidelines for vibration of hull structures, propulsion machinery and onboard equipments on ship were established mainly by classification societies or International Association of Classification Societies(IACS). The initial draft of ISO 20283 was proposed by USA and based on US military standards. Though these are not suitable to passenger and merchant ships, many experts have felt the need of the ISO regulation for the vibration measurement on ship. Hence, these standards are re-drafted and reviewed by particulate ISO members. In this paper, authors introduce the important agendas and the controversial items during setup of ISO 20283.

  • The nuclear power plant's turbine-generator system had been suffered form some problems, such as high shaft vibration, generator casing crack, stator coil water leakage, high $H_2$ gas consumption rate. Those kinds of problems were related to high vibration. So nuclear plant decided to replace generator in order to reduce rotor high vibration and high thermal sensitivity. A series of effort to reduce turbine-generator vibration was carried out as followings, first of all, replacement of generator, analysis of turbine-generator vibration, LP B rotor shop balancing, improvement of LP B/Gen coupling run-out, improvement of Generator basement and field balancing. Finally the nuclear turbine-generator's shaft vibration was reduced below $60{\mu}m$ from over $200{\mu}m$ which is very excellent vibration in nuclear turbine-generator in Korea.

타원궤적 절삭기의 가진주파수에 따른 절삭 날 회전 진동 특성 (Characteristics of Rotational Vibration of Cutting Edge in Elliptical Vibration Cutting by Modulation of Excitation Frequency)

  • The direction of the cutting tool plays a critical role in elliptical vibration cutting(EVC) where the cutting tool cuts workpiece in a trochoidal motion. In this study, EVC cutting device was developed using two parallel piezoelectric materials and it was observed that the rotation direction of the tool reverses as the EVC device undergoes resonance at which either flexural(cutting direction) or longitudinal( thrust direction) mode shapes occurs. To analytically explain reversal of the rotation direction, kinematic motion analysis of the tool was modified to incorporate amplification of the vibration amplitude and phase introduced by resonance. It successfully demonstrated, through Matlab simulation, reversal of the rotation direction of the cutting tool as the excitation frequency increases beyond resonance frequencies at which either flexural or longitudinal vibration occurs.

외팔보 구조물의 진동감쇠를 위한 동흡진기의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Vibration Absorber for Vibration Attenuation of Cantilever Beam Structure)

  • This study was carried out vibration attenuation of vibration absorber attached to the cantilever beam structure. Modern tank guns are stabilized to allow fire on the move while traversing uneven terrain. However, as the length of the barrel is extended, to meet required muzzle exit velocities, the terrain induced vibrations lead to increased muzzle pointing errors. Thus, reducing these vibrations should lead to increased accuracy. The vibration absorber includes a compliant energy storage device, such as a spring, and a mass secured to the energy storage device. In this study, it accomplished a research in about gun barrel vibration attenuation using tuned mass damper. The barrel was hung from a bungee cord for free-free condition. It accomplished a vibration experiment for verified attenuation efficiency.

Regression Analysis of Vibration Phenomenon on the Load Capacity and Elapsed Year of a Power Transformer

  • The majority of the causes for the failures of power transformers in operation are mechanical defects due to vibration. The vibration phenomenon was measured from the power transformers in operation in the substations. The vibration measurement was performed in a $6{\times}4$ structure on one side of each transformer. The vibrations of the measured points were presented in two and three dimensions and analyzed. The results, according to the elapsed year of the transformer and the load capacity to the transformer, were analyzed. These results could be used as basic data with which to establish vibration standards for power transformers. In addition, the load capacity-vibration phenomenon correlation was examined and regression analysis was performed to derive the estimation function. The vibration phenomenon according to the elapsed yeah was also estimated to derive the function. Then the analysis of the power transformers was used to set vibration standards for them based on the vibration data.

나노 측정시스템을 위한 방진 구조물의 동적 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Design of Anti-Vibration Structures for Nano-class Measuring System)

  • It is necessary to design the anti-vibration system of precision machinery for a quality assurance. However, in general, the allowable vibration limit is not well known. In this paper, the vibration criteria for foundation of sensitive machinery is proposed and anti-vibration system is designed by using vibration measurement results of foundation. Also, the finite element analysis is performed to verify the effectiveness of the designed anti-vibration system and to determine the allowable dynamic loads of precision measuring system. The results of this study will be helpful for the future design of anti-vibration structures with nano scale measuring system.
