  • Abstract Semi-supervised learning is an area in machine learning that employs both labeled and unlabeled data in order to train a model and has the potential to improve prediction performance compared to supervised learning. Graph-based semi-supervised learning has recently come into focus with two phases: graph construction, which converts the input data into a graph, and label inference, which predicts the appropriate labels for unlabeled data using the constructed graph. The inference is based on the smoothness assumption feature of semi-supervised learning. In this study, we propose an enhanced label inference algorithm by incorporating the importance of each vertex. In addition, we prove the convergence of the suggested algorithm and verify its excellence.

  • The importance for Internet security has being increased and the Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) standard, which incorporates cryptographic algorithms, has been developed as one solution to this problem. IPSec provides security services in IP-Layer using IP Authentication Header (AH) and IP Encapsulation Security Payload (ESP). In this paper, we propose IPSec cryptographic processor design based AMBA architecture. Our design which is comprised Rijndael cryptographic algorithm and HAMC-SHA-1 authentication algorithm supports the cryptographic requirements of IP AH, IP ESP, and any combination of these two protocols. Also, our IPSec cryptographic processor operates as AMBA AHB Slave. We designed IPSec cryptographic processor using Xilinx ISE 5.2i and VHDL, and implemented our design using Xilinx's FPGA Vertex XCV600E.

  • This study examined the physiological and psychological effects of wearing a winter cap at rest in a cold environment. Seven older males participated in two separate trials: wearing a winter cap (CAP) and non-wearing a winter cap (CON). The experiment was conducted for 60 min in a climatic chamber (air temperature $7.8{\pm}0.3^{\circ}C$ with $43{\pm}2%RH$) with sedentary posture. Microclimate temperature at the vertex of the head was $6.88^{\circ}C$ higher in CAP compared to CON (p<.01). Microclimate humidity at the vertex was lower in CAP than in CON only during the last 5 min (p<.01). Skin temperature at the forehead in CAP was higher than in CON (p<.01). During the last 5 min, rectal temperature was higher in CAP than that in CON (p<.05). Unlike CAP, the heart rate in CON during the last 5 min decreased significantly compared to the initial 5 min (p<.05). Subjects also felt less cold on the head/face in CAP than that in CON (p<.01). The results indicate that wearing a cap for elderly males positively affected body temperature regulation and cardiovascular response in cold environments. The importance of wearing warm hats for elderly males in winter should be emphasized.

  • The main purpose of this research work is to investigate the free vibration of conical shell structures reinforced by graphene platelets (GPLs) and the elastic properties of the nanocomposite are obtained by employing Halpin-Tsai micromechanics model. To this end, a shell model is developed based on Donnell's theory. To solve the problem, the analytical Galerkin method is employed together with beam mode shapes as weighting functions. Due to importance of boundary conditions upon mechanical behavior of nanostructures, the analysis is carried out for different boundary conditions. The effects of boundary conditions, semi vertex angle, porosity distribution and graphene platelets on the response of conical shell structures are explored. The correctness of the obtained results is checked via comparing with existing data in the literature and good agreement is eventuated. The effectiveness and the accuracy of the present approach have been demonstrated and it is shown that the Donnell's shell theory is efficient, robust and accurate in terms of nanocomposite problems.

  • Privacy vulnerability of social networks is one of the major concerns for social science research and business analysis. Most existing studies which mainly focus on un-weighted network graph, have designed various privacy models similar to k-anonymity to prevent data disclosure of vertex attributes or relationships, but they may be suffered from serious problems of huge information loss and significant modification of key properties of the network structure. Furthermore, there still lacks further considerations of privacy protection for important sensitive edges in weighted social networks. To address this problem, this paper proposes a privacy preserving method to protect sensitive weighted edges. Firstly, the sensitive edges are differentiated from weighted edges according to the edge betweenness centrality, which evaluates the importance of entities in social network. Then, the perturbation operations are used to preserve the privacy of weighted social network by adding some pseudo-edges or modifying specific edge weights, so that the bottleneck problem of information flow can be well resolved in key area of the social network. Experimental results show that the proposed method can not only effectively preserve the sensitive edges with lower computation cost, but also maintain the stability of the network structures. Further, the capability of defending against malicious attacks to important sensitive edges has been greatly improved.

  • Uncertainty is pervasive in rock slope stability analysis due to various reasons and subsequently it may cause serious rock slope failures. Therefore, the importance of uncertainty has been recognized and subsequently the probability theory has been used to quantify the uncertainty since 1980's. However, some uncertainties, due to incomplete information, cannot be handled satisfactorily in the probability theory and the fuzzy set theory is more appropriate for those uncertainties. In this study the random variable is considered as fuzzy number and the fuzzy set theory is employed in rock slope stability analysis. However, the previous fuzzy analysis employed the approximate method, which is first order second moment method and point estimate method. Since previous studies used only the representative values from membership function to evaluate the stability of rock slope, the approximated analysis results have been obtained in previous studies. Therefore, the Monte Carlo simulation technique is utilized to evaluate the probability of failure for rock slope in the current study. This overcomes the shortcomings of previous studies, which are employed vertex method. With Monte Carlo simulation technique, more complete analysis results can be secured in the proposed method. The proposed method has been applied to the practical example. According to the analysis results, the probabilities of failure obtained from the fuzzy Monte Carlo simulation coincide with the probabilities of failure from the probabilistic analysis.

  • In order to study twin pregnancies, a retrospective survey was carried out in Yonsei University, Severance Hospital. Twin deliveries during 1967-1976 numbered altogether 264, and their relative frequency was 1.30%. Clinical palpation in addition to auscultation and roentgenologic technique had been used in the twin diagnosis. The diagnosis was made prior to delivery in 93.18% of the cases. The deliveries took place in the 37.26th (S.D. 3.95) gestational weeks on an average. The mean weights of the infants were-A (first baby) 2416.03g. (S.D. 802.61), and B (second baby) 2299.81g. (S.D. 190.31). The most common manner of twin delivery was spontaneous vaginal delivery. Cesarean section was done in 14.39%, of which the most common indication was hypotonic uterine dysfunction (34.21 %). Low one minute Apgar scores occured more often in B twins than among A twins. Breech delivery gave low one minute Apgar scores more often than did spontaneous vertex delivery in both twins. Full term twins and infants weighing more than 2500g. had fewer low one minute Apgar scores than the preterm infants and those with low birth weight. Perinatal mortality (PNM) in the total series was 14.77% (A 12.50% and B17.05%). The most common cause of perinatal mortality was prematurity in 44.87%. The worst outcome was recorded for the age groups 15-19 and ${\geqq}$40, in which perinatal mortality were 50.00%, respectively. The perinatal mortality of both A and B infants was lowest in the group diagnosed early during antenatal care before delivery. On the basis of our findings, we wish to emphasize particularly the importance of the early diagnosis of twins.
