A Study on the Five-hole Probe Calibration with Non-nulling Method (비영위법에 의한 5공 프로브의 교정에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is concerned with a method for calibrating five-hole probes of both angle-tube and prismatic geometries to measure local total and static pressures and the magnitude and direction of the mean velocity vector. Descriptions of the calibration technique, the typical calibration data, and an accompanying discussion of the interpolation procedure are included. The flow properties are determined explicitly from measured probe pressures using calibration data. Flow angles are obtained within the deviation angle of 1.0 degree and dynamic pressures within 0.03 with 95% certainty. The variations in the calibration data due to Reynolds number are also discussed. For the range of Reynolds number employed, no effect was detected on the pitch, yaw abd total pressure coefficients. However, the static pressure coefficient showed change to cause minor variations in the magnitude of the calculated velocity vector. To account for these variations, average correction factors need to be incorporated into the static pressure coefficient.

  • In this study, Fuzzy control algorithm to generate a change of rocomotion cordition according to an outer environment is introduced on a motorized wheelchair control. An optimal control rules for conquesting the less of safety and system inefficiency in the past are given to this motorized wheelchair. And dynamic analysis is also adopted to it. Using those rules, a proportional control was possible when the vehicle changed its moving direction. The proposed method which considers the relationship between a moving velocity and the command from the joystick shows better performance in the change of moving direction.

  • Numerical calculations are carried out for the swirling turbulent flow in a pipe. Calculations are made for the flow with swirl parameter of 2.25 and the Reynolds number of 24,300. The turbulence closure models used in these calculations are two different types of Reynolds stress model, and the results are compared with those of $k-{\varepsilon}$ model and the experimental data. The finite volume method is used for the discretization, and the power-law scheme is employed as a numerical scheme. The SIMPLE algorithm is used for velocity-pressure correction. The computational results show that GL model gives the results better than those of SSG model in the predictions of velocity and stress components.

  • We investigated the distorting factors of velocity structure reconstructed by traveltime inversion. The set of models that fit the data in a numerical sense usually contains unrealistic models. Reconstructed velocity structure was enhanced because unreasonable models were eliminated by defining constraint of variable grid using a priori information. To correct time delay of source explosion, which distorts traveltime tomograms, terms for correction of time delay was formulated into equation of travel time tomography.

  • A numerical analysis has been performed on the two-dimensional rectangular gallium melting problem using the enthalpy method. The major advantage of this method is that the physical domain is discretized with fixed grids without transforming variables and the interface conditions of phase change are accounted for the definition of suitable source terms in the governing equations. But in the fixed method, there is some ambiguity in defining the porosity constant which has no physical interpretation. If the velocity correction is included in the momentum equation, for the appropriate range of porosity constant, the realistic predictions are obtained. The object of the present work is to predict the phase change within the molten steel with thin riser slab using the modified enthalpy-porosity method. The computational procedures for predicting velocity and temperature are based on the finite volume method and the non-staggered grid system. The influence of natural convection on the melting process is considered. A comparison with the experimental results shows that the modified method is better than the previous one.

  • 하천에 포함되는 각종 시설물을 설계하는데 있어 기준이 되는 하천설계기준에는 대부분 하천의 대표유속을 통해 시설물의 규모와 형태를 결정하는 공식이 제시되어 있다. 이러한 대표유속의 경우 대부분 평균유속을 사용하고 있으며 하천의 형태와 시설 등에 의한 영향으로 국부적으로 유속이 증가하는 경우 유속보정계수를 이용하여 평균유속을 보정하여 사용한다. 이러한 유속보정계수는 만곡, 세굴, 저수로 간섭, 근고공 및 수제공 등에 적용되며 본 연구에서는 하천의 곡률에 의한 유속보정계수를 수치모의를 통해 검증하고자 한다. 하도 중심의 곡률반경의 변화에 따른 평균 유속과 국부유속의 차이를 계산하고 기 제시된 보정계수 산정식과 비교하여 산정식의 활용성에 대한 검증을 수행하였다. 본 연구를 통해 유속보정계수의 중요성과 활용성을 제고하고 하천시설물의 설계 시에 평균유속이 아닌 보정된 대표유속을 활용한다면 하천시설물에 대한 안전성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

  • 홍수기 유량측정시 안전성을 이유로 비접촉식인 전자파 표면유속계의 활용도가 증가하고 있다. 전자파 표면유속계는 기존의 수심에 따라 유속을 측정하는 방법과 달리 표면유속을 대표유속으로 측정하는 장비로 평균유속을 산정하기 위해서는 환산 보정계수를 산정하여 유속을 보정해야 한다. 국제표준화기구(ISO 748)에 따르면 표면유속 측정 시 보정계수는 0.84~0.90으로 권장하고 있으며 국내에서는 통상적으로 표면유속 측정시에는 0.85를 일괄 적용하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초음파 유속계인 ADCP(Acoustic Doppler Current Profile)로 측정된 평균유속 자료를 활용하여 전자파 표면유속계에서 측정된 표면유속 자료와 비교 검토하였고, 검토된 자료를 이용하여 대상지점의 수리특성을 반영한 보정계수를 산정하였다. 이러한 결과는 하천에서 전자파 표면유속계를 이용할 경우 평균유속 환산 보정계수를 산정하는데 큰 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다.

  • The stoichiometric methan/air premixed turbulent flames at the axisymmetric Bunsen burner situation are numerically investigated. To account for the chemistry-turbulence interaction in the turbulent premixed flames, the steady laminar flamelet library method has been adopted. The flame front is tracked by using the Level-Set Approach. Turbulence is represented by the ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ modeling with a Pope's correction. The detailed comparison between prediction and measurement has made for the flame field in terms of velocity, turbulent kinetic energy, and normarlized temperature.

The results are compared with those of $\kappa-\epsilon$ model and GL model, and the experimental data. The finite volume method is used for the discretization, and the power-law scheme is employed as a numerical scheme. The SIMPLE algorithm is used for velocity-Pressure correction in the governing equations.
