System Analysis for The Train Vehicle with an Articulated Bogie Frame (관절형 대차구조를 가진 철도 차량의 시스템해석)

  • In this study, system analysis for a train vehicle with an articulated bogie frame adopted in TGV and TGV-K system is performed. System analysis is carried out as follows. First, modal analysis of each subsystem is performed to obtain the natural frequencies and mode shapes. Then modal analysis, of a whole vehicle is performed to obtain the potential interaction between the subsystems. Finallyforced response analysis, such as driving point mobility, is performed to obtain the dynamic response of specific points.

  • In this thesis the dynamic behavior of the vehicles is analyzed while the track is subjected to lateral vibration due to earthquakes. A computer program is developed which can simulate dynamic responses of vehicles subjected to earthquake loading. The analysis considers two types of two types of vehicles : I. e. a 2-axle vehicle with 13 DOF's an da power car of K-TGV with 38 DOF's It can also consider the interaction with substructures such as tracks and bridges. El Centro record is considered as earthquake loading. The creep force module developed in this study is verified and the results of this study are compared with those of others. Furthermore he running safety of high-speed railway vehicles(K-TGV) subjected to earthquake loading is studied. Based on the results of this study the running safety of the K-TGV can be confirmed against el centro earthquake.

Dynamic Behavior and Resonance Reduction of Two-Span Continuous Bridges for Korean Train eXpress (KTX용 2경간 연속교량의 동적거동 및 공진감소)

  • Dynamic behaviors of the two-span continuous bridge which is one of prototypes on Gyoung-Bu high-speed railway are analyzed and some methods for reducing the resonance of the bridge are proposed. The bridge is modeled as a two-span continuous beam and the load is a vehicle of TGV-K (2p+18T) with length of 380.15 meter traveling on the railway bridge at some constant velocity. The equations governing the dynamic behaviors of the bridge are partial differential equations produced by using a system with distributed mass and elasticity. The analysis of the governing equations is performed by the mode superposition method which has modal coordinates solved by Duhamel's integral. Without considering the train velocity the dynamic reponses can be greatly reduced at some special lengths of bridge. It is different from the results of simple bridges researched so far. When the dynamic responses increase rapidly to make a resonance phenomenon depending on the train velocities, the several methods are proposed to deduce the resonance.

  • Safety of passengers in the Korean High Speed Train, KHST, was evaluated under the different accident scenarios. Preliminary occupant analysis has been performed based on the TGV-K train seat characteristics. The influence of the vehicle deceleration and passenger type, seating positions, effectiveness of compartmentalization have been evaluated in terms of occupant injury criteria. This study is the final result of the occupant analysis of KHST project at 1st stage 3rd year.

  • A dynamic analysis procedure is developed to provide a better estimation of the dynamic responses of pre-stressed concrete (PSC) box girder bridges on the Korea high speed railway. Particularly, a three dimensional numerical model including the structural interaction between high speed vehicles, bridges and railway endures to analyze accurately and evaluate with in-depth parametric studies for dynamic responses of bridge due to the high speed railway vehicles. Three dimensional frame element is used to model the PSC box girder bridges, simply supported span lengths 40 m. The high-speed railway vehicles (K-TGV) including a locomotive are used as 38-degree of freedom system. Three displacements (vertical, lateral, and longitudinal) as well as three rotational components (pitching, rolling, and yawing) are considered in the 38-degree of freedom model. The dynamic analysis by Runge-Kutta method which are able to analyze considering the dynamic impact factors are compared and contrasted. It is proposed as an empirical formula that the impact factors damaged the bridge load-carrying capacities occurs to the bride due to high-speed vehicle.

  • This paper presents passive vibration control method to suppress train-induced vibration on a long-span steel arch bridge. According to the train load frequency analysis, undesirable resonance of a bridge will occur when the impact frequency of the train axles are close to the modal frequencies of the bridge. Because the first mode shape of the long-span steel arch bridge may take anti-symmetric shape along the bridge direction, however, the optimal control configuration for resonance suppression should be considered carefully In this study, bridge-vehicle element is used to estimate the bridge-train interaction precisely. From the numerical simulation of a loom steel arch bridge under TGV-K train loading, dynamic magnification influences are evaluated according to vehicle moving speed and efficient control system with passive dampers are presented in order to diminish the vertical displacement and vertical acceleration.

The Study on Shield Moving ECB with PM for Application of Railway Vehicle (영구자석을 이용한 Shield moving형 와전류 제동기의 철도시스템 적용연구)

  • The railway ECB(Eddy Current Brake) is used for high speed vehicle of railway like as TGV, ICE, JR-500 because it has stable braking force at high speed. But it is not effective at low speed and it is difficult to save energy due to the excitation of electro-magnet. Although ECB with permanent magnet is used for roller-coaster, it can not control the braking force without clutch. In this paper, the shield moving ECB with PM is proposed for application of railway vehicle. The angle of shield can be changed for various braking force. It changes the flux amount from PM, then the braking force will be reduced. The brake of 800W is simulated by using the software, "Ansoft Maxwell". The characteristics of braking will be shown by the shapes of magnet, disk and various speeds.

  • ECB(Eddy Current Brake)는 철도시스템의 고속에서 제동력을 안정적으로 나타낼 수 있어서 TGV, ICE, JR-500등과 같은 철도에서 사용되고 있다. 하지만 저속에서는 효율적이지 못하고, 전자석은 경량성에 대한 문제와 에너지를 소비한다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 제안된 영구자석형 Shield moving형 와전류 제동기를 사용하였다. 이 와전류 제동기는 Shield의 각을 이동하여 제동력을 조절할 수 있으며 영구자석을 이용함으로서 전자석의 단점을 보안하였다. 하지만 영구자석은 온도에 대해 영향을 받을 수 있으므로 온도 특성은 전류밀도(J(A/m2))와 자속밀도(T)를 'Ansoft Maxell'을 시뮬레이션하여 확인하였다.

  • Dynamic responses of steel composite bridges for the Korean high-speed railway are analyzed by a modal analysis. The bridge is modeled as a simply supported beam structure and a vehicle of TGV-K is modeled using a moving load assumption. When the train is moving on a bridge, its deck shows resonance phenomenon at a critical velocity. However, it is observed that the dynamic response is greatly reduced at a special range of the span length. The results show that the reduction effect should be considered ill designing the railway bridges. A parametric study of tile dynamic response is performed for different span lengths, and specific train speeds train should be considered in designing the high speed railway bridge are suggested.

Analysis of the acceleration measured on Korea and France high speed railways using UIC518 code (UIC518 방법에 의한 국내 및 프랑스 고속철도 차량 진동가속도 분석)

  • Track irregularities can be evaluated not only directly by track inspection but also indirectly by measurement of carbody accelerations and many researches are being conducted. Carbody accelerations were measured on the Kyeongbu high speed railway and France high speed line to investigate the situation of the track maintenance at Korea high speed line by using indirect method. Digital signal processing for the measured acceleration data were conducted according to UIC518 code. Since the vehicle speed affects the car body acceleration, the lateral and vertical acceleration of the car body were classified according to the vehicle speed and the distribution characteristics of these acceleration were investigated and evaluated by UIC518 criteria. Finally, the running behavior of KTX on Korea high speed railway were compared with that on France. Distribution characteristics of these acceleration were evaluated and discussed in terms of the track maintenance in Korea high speed line.
